[News] Did The No-Huddle Disappear?

93 posts in this topic

Just like last year Cam is trying to be too smart for his own good. He calls pass when its an obvious run like 3rd and 2 because he thinks he will catch them off guard. He needs to realize with Leach and Rice on your team you dont need to catch them off guard to gain 2 yards and a first down. Get over yourself Cam, you're not as smart as you think you are.
As for Pees....he is a fine DC. We lost JJ and Suggs is rehabbing. Our players makes the coaches look good not the other way around. Pagano was good because he was aggressive. We dont have the talent right now for Pees to go after them the same way. It will come in time.

I'm not sure about Pees yet. Two games is too small a sample size. That said the comparisons to Mattison seem a little alarmist.

Of course Harbs will say that we were running the pace we wanted....What's he gonna say, that they screwed up, and should have run more no-huddle? I don't care what you run, when you stare down receivers then throw to them while guys are draped all over them, or just totally overthrow guys.....I know it's Cams fault, yadayadayayada....Flacco should have said nothing except this one was on him period!!
You're wrong. If anyone should stand up and take the blame it's Harbaugh. He had an opportunity to fire Cameron at the end of last year and he chose not to. Cameron will be our downfall once again.

I agree but I like the way Harbaugh handles these issues off the field. He never shifts blame to anyone in his organization and tries to keep a tight lid on any info that could give a competitive advantage.

Thank you, I completely agree. People really expect Harbaugh to come out and bash everyone. And I'm tired of people saying that Harbaugh should have fired Cam last year. Since when is it the head coaches job to fire other coaches?

Just like last year, the death of us will not be lack of talent, lack of leadership, lack of work ethic, or even a lack of good strategies - it will be inability of this team, especially the offensive side of the ball, to establish an identity and stick with it. You want to be a no-huddle fast paced offense, fine, but stick with it. You want to have a dynamic running game, great, but stick with it. Good teams try as much as possible to do what they're best at, even if it plays somewhat into the hands of the defense. But in Philly, they were GIVING us the run, and we didn't take advantage despite having one of the best backs in the game and some backups who I think can be pretty special in their own right.

If Flacco was hurt to the point where he couldn't throw well (which I think he was), then it's up to the COACHES to recognize this and switch to a strategy that doesn't rely on him, like say, giving the ball to your stud running back.
I also think Joe was hurt or sick he wasnt himself and not in the bad game kinda way.

More likely, Caldwell and Cam got into a fight before the game and Cam won. I don't see anywhere in that game anything vaguely resembling a no-huddle play. There was so much time between plays that the other team was easily able to change out it's def players without any problem. And what's more the ability to snap the ball and get it to it's intended target was akin to watching paint dry. If it was no-huddle it must have been in slooooooooow-mooooooootion.

Joflacco#1, and the dog ate my homework. I tried those kind of excuses but my teacher just gave me an 'E' anyhow. I give flacco and cam an E. If he was sick or injured he should have removed himself and let tyrod play. Couldn't have been any worse. By the way the dog really did eat my homework one time but I used the excuse too many times and no one believed me.

I will ALWAYS be a Raven Fan!!!!! But just look how Atlanta is running the no huddle offense tonight! Works for them! Why can't we stick to it?

You can nitpick as much as you want, but in the end we were just a different team from the team in the first half and a totally different team from the team in our first game. In our first game our play calling was creative and flexible, which was true to a certain degree in the first half of the game against the Eagles. In the second half we tried to do the same thing over and over again.

Worked too well last week. -_- There is seriously no good reason. I half suspect, that Harbs didn't want Andy Reid to get fired or something.

to be completely honest, im getting sick of harbaugh saying are offense looked how it was suppose to on third downs. are offense didnt even look close to what they were suppose to the whole game. how are you going to run rice less then 20 times a game when your up by ten? thats ridiculous! harbaugh needs to take charge of the situation instead of saying its ok. and to put the loss on our D is just down right pathetic. cam needs to change or he needs to go. Bottom-line!

Defense had no intensity, They played confused and flat which is rare, couldn't stop celek. Couldnt pressure Vick with backup center and LT??? Offense didnt come to play 60 min. Just a bad game
Eagles are a good team but we gave them that win

I almost wondered if Harbs threw this one so his old friend and former home would still like him. No, just kidding, but it sure was puzzling -- why abandon a formula that worked so well last week? I get the whole noise factor, but there were still some real questionable plays. Oh well, on to next week. We always play better at home.

I'm watching Monday night football and Matt Ryan keeps changing the play to a play called Baltimore and its a spread play that is completed for positive yards every time.we should copy it and use it in the no-huddle.just saying it works.Matt is showing us how the no-huddle is supposed to be run Cam Cameron.

The strategies was good, it was working in the first half. When the Eagles thought we were going to give the ball to Ray Rice to froze the defensive rush, it gave Flacco and the WR to work the field, when they came after us with a pass rush, we hit them right up the middle with Ray Rice. We were to obvious once the game got close in the second half to a good Eagle defense, that's on Cam and Flacco to adjust according. My only issue was this, we started the second half with three, 3 and out, while our defense was playing well. Those 3 and out weren't 3rd and long. They were like 3rd and 2, 3rd and 4, and 3rd and 2 and in which we pass in all three of those situation against a defense that has to pro-bowls in each end, come'on man run the ball once. Let's look at the film, correct the mistakes and let's get excited for Sunday Night Brady Boy.

coreyadams THATS what i thought whatchin that game. was like man, GO FOR THE FISRT DOWN, you only have to make the FG and we go with the W. "why did you just called that play?" - me, 8 times in a row during that last drive. i know its hard playing a no huddle when you are not home, but man give Joe some plays

I think slowing Flacco down only hurts him just watch the Philadelphia game then feel free to pop in the Bengals game from week 1 Cameron and Harbaugh want to slow Flacco down starting to wonder if they even watch the same games everybody else watches.

BS John. Your accelerated offense didn't stop Philly from substitutions and definitely didn't fool anyone. Philly was prepared when the ball was snapped and the Ravens never looked comfortable on offense.

Maybe the no-huddle wasn't the main fault but Philly ran it and gave the Ravens fits.

Next excuse?

WRONG. Put in back in. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Since when does crowd noise bother the Ravens. They practice with a lot more noise than that. Please put it back in the game plan. We need it against the Pats this week. Go Ravens.

Stupid comment by me but why did Cam drop it? I could see the game. I know they let it go. John said in an after game interview where he saying the d was on the field 36 minutes and the o has to move the chains- therefore huddle muddle they have to gain yardage. Which I thought begs the question since their best drive was the one mentioned above w/ Vonte booming in for the score.

I thought Joe looked worried all game long. Subjectively speaking I thought Joe knew the pass play calls were ineffective and actually putting the team behind the eight ball.

Once more we can cry and shout but Jones' TD was not o interference. I don't know what the after game analyst saw with arms extended but these players routinely run down the sideline grabbing at everything but their balls, honestly.

The olde looking ahead to the next game may have been on their minds but that's over once the kickoff play is done.

Specific question re Upshaw answered by John who was more cheerful than one expects after their worst showing in a while was he's coming along. Honest but weren't they already loaded with LB's? Of course we all expect Courtney to be pro bowl in three to five. Huh?

I believe they will come out ready and huddle muddle no buddle they'll play a good game and take the Pats to the shed. At least that's my wish. There's no way Ray and Ed and Joe r gonna let this team get white washed by Brady. No way. What a cherry if Justin kicks a game winner. But as TB himself said in his comments after their loss to the Browns I think u can't let the game get out of control and depend on a field goal in the waning minutes.

And finally as the same TV analysts said he'd have run RR more after taking a ten pt lead into the locker room. Step on their throat was his expression. Well I believe a lot of teams are shaking their heads this season. John's brother looks to have a winner. We'll c.
