I really don't see this as a "revenge" game or anything like that. I save that in the games that truly matters, the playoffs. And both of these teams have to make it that far.
I agree. Revenge could come in the form of beating them in the playoffs. These are still early days, but that doesn't minimize the importance of this game at all. This really sets a tone for the rest of the season for both teams. The fact that one of the Ravens or Patriots will be 1-2 is pretty crazy. But if we can get through them, I feel we should be solid for the next few weeks. I know not to underestimate opponents, but should we win, we can probably win our next three @Cleveland, @KC and vs. Dallas. This is our toughest test until the Houston game, and a big statement game.

I think it will be close, but for me thing putting us over the top is us being at home, and it doesn't hurt that Hernandez is hurt and there may be some flux in their offense with them going out and picking up Winslow and Branch. Assuming the playcalling and Flacco's accuracy are dealt with, and that we can get a bit of a pass rush going, I think we win this. Things have to go pretty well though because this won't be an easy one. Ray Rice needs to get fed, early and often. I don't think there is anyone we won't have this week that we didn't have last week, based on the rumor mill and injury reports.

Ravens 31, Patriots 24

We need to smoke the patsies to get us back on track and heal some old wounds.

We're at home and I look for a monster game from the O. I have a good feeling this game won't even be close.
I like this post. All except the score won't even be close part. I'm just not quite that optimistic.

The last time we played the Pats at home was what we refer to as the 'Ice Game'.
Cars were sliding off the road on the way home. We were blown off the road into a ditch close to the PA/MD line. It was crazy.
Between that, the crazy time out by Rex at the end of the game, and the way the crowd was in just complete chaos...this game already has a lot of personal history to it.
I'm sure we are not, but to see our team in the black unis again under the lights sure would bring back some memories!

You're talking about the same fan base that wanted Mattison gone an hour after he was named DC...
The same fanbase that wanted Rex Ryan gone after he first took over. Especially after Petting Manning criticized the 46 defense we were supposed to have been running at the time.

Fantasy alert:

Bench Ray Rice this week. This is going to be another game where we see 40+ passes from Flacco, and with Wilfork and Hightower in the middle of that defense, Ray wont have many chances to get big gains

Agree but he's not gonna do so good. That's the player BB decides to take out of this game.

I absolutely love how WIlliam & Tom make a game plan for Reed before these two teams bump heads.

Well....pats fan here...Just wanted to say, I respect your team, and its players...you guys have some amazing players on your team and have had quite a bit of success....Its too bad, most of you do not feel that way about the Patriots. So let me get a couple of things straight...Brady...is a girl? A Qb who has played through broken ribs, a broken foot, a sports hernia, and a seperated shoulder, not to mention coming back from a torn acl...is a girl? Ok....so Brady is a girl, and you guys are not worried about the patriots.... [NO SMACK] You guys have a tough team, every game the pats play you is tough. Brady has said but glowing things about your team....and guys like Reed and Lewis have said glowing things about Brady.....its too bad, you as fans seem to take a different road. Good luck guys, hope the refs can do a good job and we have a good clean game with no injuries.

I haven't posted on this part of the forum all week because people overreact after a loss big time but anyway no sane ravens fan on this board will overlook the pats or think this will be an easy game.

Hurts to say it but Brady has been a terrific QB in his career. I will give him that. With that being said, I also have to say this....

Everytime he is touched he's whining for a call. That's automatic and known by everyone in the league.

Hopefully the replacement refs do a better job than the regular ones in that regard.

this can't be viewed as a "revenge" game because that was last year! it is not a "rematch" cause that was last year! this is a new season and only the 3rd week into it! both teams are 1-1 and one team will be 2-1 and 1-2. i hope it is the Ravens that are 2-1.
I respect the Pats and Brady too (man has won championships after taking over a guy like Bledsoe, respect). But I cannot respect whining like that (see gif posted above me). It would be one thing if he just said it after the game.

To me, he's got the same thing that's happened to Jon Jones now - humble in the beginning, a bit arrogant after drinking their own kool aid.

As much as the Steelers are our most 'hated' rivals, I respect Big Ben's no nonsense hard-nosed approach.

Even though he doesn't know the meaning of 'no'... ;)

When your QB has a touchy feely rule named after him * brady rule* *roughing the brady*, then yes, that makes your Qb a cupcake.

I have immense respect for the Patriots and for Tom Brady. Belichick is one of my favorite coaches. I am definitely not looking past the Patriots, and no sane Ravens fan is either, as mentioned earlier.

The reason Brady gets called a girl is because he calls for a flag if someone breathes on him the wrong way. I have even had a few Patriots fans tell me that they get tired of it. It makes me sick, truthfully. Its a man's game; don't whine about flags and penalties.

I understand the Ravens have great home record, but the Patriots have never lost in M&T Bank Stadium, you have to go back to 1983 to find the last time the Patriots lost in Baltimore, to the then Baltimore Colts (I understand why you dislike the Colts, I have no affection for them either). The Patriots and Ravens always play each other well, this week should be no exeption. Injuries are a push, you guys are out Suggs and we are out Hernandez. The Hoodie always game plans to take away the oposing team's #1 weapon on offense, which would be Rice. Last week it was Fitz, held to 1 reception for 4 yards, the week before it was CJ2K, held to 4 yards on 11 caries. Our defense has been retooled in the offseason, so I expect it to play well, Jones, Hightower and Wilson (the Police Academy Defense) have all made an impact in their first NFL games.
You have to go back to 2007 to find a game where the Patriots PLAYED IN Baltimore. And that was the game that should have ended the undefeated season. The only other time these two teams faced off on our home turf was in 1996. So that totals a whopping TWO TIMES you've played us in Baltimore. It's kind of hard to lose in a stadium when the schedule makers never seem to have you playing there..... We always seem to end up in freaking Foxboro for some tough road trip...

It's time to return the favor.

ONCE!!! The Patriots were going undefeated that regular season with their only loss coming to the Giants in the Super Bowl. We gave them a great game and almost defeated them, too.
