Week 3 - Patriots @ Ravens

371 posts in this topic

I laugh my tail off at this quote:

"The New England Patriots are much improved defensively (31st in the league 2011, second thus far) especially against the run, yielding just 62 yards per contest."

http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/nflpreview?gameId=320923033

Now lets take a look at the total offenses the Patriots have played:

Tennessee: 31st
Arizona: 30th

While I realize it's not the Patriots fault for their scheduling, they did this all last season with some of the teams the Ravens played. Monkey see, monkey do.

Oh, also for those wondering the total ranked offense of the Ravens: 9th. Quite a change from 31st or 30th.

Yes the Patriots are MUCH improved, because playing against Jake Locker and Kevin Kolb/John Skelton are great measuring sticks for a defense. I feel like people were saying the same things about a certain 6-0 Denver Broncos team in 2010.

I'd love to see the jones brothers, Hightower and upshaw, all as captains. Throw in Bernie and Brady just for laughs too. Seriously, would be a nice touch for art and chandler to do a coin toss together. Would be a great experience playing against a brother in a professional sport and occasion as big as this

Jones would probably be in there, I'm also positive that Torrey would be, if he plays.
well yea if he is after that I'm sure he will be offered, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy would want the limelight like that though

Maybe it was because he had just returned from an injury where Pollard (another Ravens class act) blatantely dove helmet first into his knees, and there Suggs did it as well?

Maybe the Ravens players should try beating football teams at football instead of playing Bounty style football to remove players better than their entire roster from the field to improve their odds?

Pollard wasn't even on the Ravens when he accidentally hit your wittle Princess there bud. Maybe the Patriots should try looking at their own game film instead of other teams' practice runs? See, you're not the only one who can make ridiculous statements.

It wasn't a ridiculous statement.

Last year in the AFC Championship game I watched Pollard blatantly twist Gronks ankle in what almost looked like a submission hold for christ sakes. I also saw (was it Lewis?) one of your defenders BLATANTLY try to go full blast HELMET to UNPROTECTED head on Green-Ellis on a play where his helmet came off 5 yards behind the tackle. I also saw Ray Lewis basically spear Brady in the spine CLEARLY after he had made it over the goal line.

All of these things happened. This isn't "smack", it's not trash-talk, it's reality. It's what the Ravens do. I remember rumors swirling that the Ravens locker room had a Bounty on Hines Ward that was eventually collected on.

I don't worry when we play you because you're a good football team. Nope. Sorry.

I get worried when we play you because I have to spend 4 quarters praying your players (that I consider to be as dirty as they come) don't injure players critical to our teams success.

Time to have a little fun. Top 10 reasons why the Ravens will beat the Patriots today:

I'll have a little fun on top of this topic. Here are the 10 reasons why the Ravens will beat the Patriots.

1. Its Brady's time of the month
2. The Patriots have confused Wes Welker so much, that when he makes a catch he runs it to the endzone in the opposite direction.
3. After scoring a touchdown, Gronk's head explodes from his ego and is doubtful for the rest of the game.
4. The Refs all have Joe Flacco on their fantasy teams
5. The Refs are all playing against Tom Brady in their fantasy games.
6. Bill B can't find his hooded sweater and therefore can't coach the game.
7. A westerly wind carries the scent of Cheeseburgers to Vince Wilfork, he is constantly distracted.
8. Kruger-Suggs accidently bump heads and realize that they have done a body swap.
9. Pollard lives up to his name and actually kills Patriots on the field.
10. Cam Cameron actually calls a good game.

I swear i would rather play the Steelers. I HATE Tom Brady. He annoys me with his cry baby attitude but damn if he cannot torch the best defenses. I am not sure if it hate for his whinning or that he is so good. He makes average receivers look great.

1st...why do other teams fans feel a need to show up on our boards when our teams play? i never got that!

2nd..you obviously have the wrong team in mind with that "bounty style" of football statement. ummm...that's the saints...we're Ravens bruh! smh!

3rd...who is on your roster that you could possibly feel are better than our "ENTIRE" team? when we have such quality players such as Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith, Dennis Pitta, Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs (he'll be back), Ed Reed, Haloti Ngata and Ladarius Webb? who?
