Week 3 - Patriots @ Ravens

It is true that some QBs like Tom Brady are protected by the referees more than others. The referees do not seem to protect Joe Flacco the same way they treat Tom Terrific. That being said, if someone has a clear and clean shot at him they should take it and get their money's worth, so to speak, regardless of the fear of being called for roughing the passer. The call made against Ed Reed for hitting Mike Vick in the Eagle's game was an atrocious call. It was a clean hit and tackle. Also. the call that was reversed and called an incomplete pass was another atrocious call. Any QB worth his salt should be able to flick his fingers and fake a pass on his way down after being caught in the grasp of a tackler. Now that Mike Vick has gotten away with it, we'll see other QBs do it. The proper call should have been a fumble as it was originally called on the field or intentional grounding or In the grasp to protect the QB. That poor call greatly affected the outcome of the Eagles game as did others. I hope the officials do a more consistent job of officiating on Sunday night. Its easy for a defender on the winning side of a game to conclude that this group of inept officials are just letting the players play but it doesn't help the teams who were victimized last week.

Weeden threw for more yards vs. the Bengals (on the ROAD) than Flacco, so it makes me wonder if the offensive showing in week 1 had more to do with the Ravens being good offensively or the Bengals being bad defensively.

I guess we'll find out on Sunday.

Been saying to everyone that i talk to, I have never felt so confident about playing the PATTYS EVER.

We're two games into the season. Nothing we saw can really determine whether any pieces of the Ravens are good or not. Halfway through the season we will be able to determine that.

I think having replacement refs helps us in this game. Brady doesn't seem to be 'special' with the scabs.
