Week 3 - Patriots @ Ravens

371 posts in this topic

Time to talk next week. Two AFC favorites are 1-1, one must leave this game with a losing record.

Patriots don't have the corners nor the pass rush the Eagles have. The Ravens offense should be able to move the ball w/ more space. Should be an exciting rematch of the AFC championship game.

This time we have the Tuck Man.

(I didn't want to keep talking this conversation in the we will lose to Patriots thread).

We definitely have a better advantage this coming came. I didn't see the Patriots game so I don't know how they looked but hopefully we won't have the same replacement refs either!

I certainly hope that adjustments are made offensively and defensively.

Arizona had a great game plan and they had a mighty pass rush going on.

I doubt we are going to mirror the pass rush Arizona was able to bring (they are a very underrated D). We should plan on keeping them off the field with our offense.

RAVENS completely stump the PATS, i said this before, if we had to lose one of the next two games. Id much rather lose to the Eagles than the PATS.

Oh and we wear our ALL BLACK uniforms, Total Black Out in the Crow's Den :)

The problem with speaking out is that everybody will just credit it to Whining.

The refs (even professional ones make mistakes). But we had plenty of opportunities to overcome the refs as well.

No Doubt. If somebody told me you can only win one game. Pats or Eagles. I'd take a win over the Pats every time. They are in division plus they are the bigger foe.

Eagles are nice and all. But they won't be making it to the Super Bowl. Vick won't last. They won't get so lucky with their turnovers.

I really think the team lacked a gameplan for Celek. They were focus on stopping the run, containing Vick, and limiting the deep ball. Thus leaving the middle of the field quite open for Celek.

Ravens have historically been good against the TE. I have no doubt their gameplan this week will focus on limiting Gronk.

Goes with out saying the Pats ARE a very good team. Princess Brady is one of the best. She is a sure HOF. This game will not be a cake walk.
All that said With this being a home game and Philly exposing some of our weak points, we can spend the week straightening things out and give the Pats a run for their money.

I say RAVENS by 17

Perspective. New England's secondary is still suspect. While Philly's might be the best in the league. I think our offense will rebound. Hopefully Joe is healthy though.

Well they held CJ to a low amount. But then again so did the Chargers. Then they faced Beanie Wells/R Williams.

I would say it hasn't been tested like it will be next week. They are much improved though.

Thanks. Although putting faith in Cam is like putting faith in a teenager not making bad decisions lol

I figured as much. We will see next week. Looks like we have to play yet another tough team.

This is going to be a habit for me to say throughout the season.

i swear to god if pees doesn't blitz brady....
I don't want to see too many heavy blitzes. That's what the Pats want. They will torch us with their weapons. Our D-Line must be able to create some pressure on their own. But I don't see this happening.

if we can make vick look like a better QB than he is, i don't want to see brady this week with the same gameplan.

Agreed. Brady will eat us for breakfast if we continually send the house. We need smart pressure.

The pass rush just looked exhausted in the second half. Our team really plays poorly when the defense is left of the field for too long.

The Patriots offense is a whole, lot different than the Eagles offense. If one was a defensive coordinator, you would want Michael Vick to beat you with his arm. The goal would be to stop the Michael Vick Experience and limit LeSean McCoy. But, as for the Patriots? You want to cover their skill players and have them go small-ball.
We don't want too many blitzes, that's how Brady owned the Steelers all those years.

Anyway, this is as close to a must win game as you're gonna see this early in the season.

sure, the ravens lost to the eagles today but the patriots lost to the Cardinals. now, the patriots have to come into M&T where the Ravens are undefeated at home since last season. hopefully our boys are pissed over this loss and come out swinging and with their foot on the gas to make a statement next week!

Irrelevent Prediction time.
Were coming in hungry, were not only angry at the Pats for the loss, but now we are looking to redeem ourselves against the Eagles. The Eagles have a great team and a great D. The Pats team revolves around Brady and their D is mediocre. I say Flacco lights em up. Lets face facts, at the end of the season, we are going to be one of the teams that actually put up a fight against the Eagles, its going tp be very hard for teams to move the ball on them, that fact that we only lost by one point is amazing. The Pats have no D. It's going to be hard to stop Brady, but the recivers are no Jackson or Maclin. Welker is good, but Lolyd drops and Eldelmen will get eaten up by Jimmy. Hernandez is hurt, which will put more coverage on Gronk, and the O-Line of the Pats is just as questionable as ours. The Pats will Score.

Joe is coming off facing 2 elite pass rushers and two shut down corners and still had a good game (sure his completion precentage was bad, and he has an INT nut over 200 yards isn't and no protection doens't help so shut up haters) he had that one bad throw but the It factor doesnt work every time. Joe eats them up, the pass D is bad and we have elite weapons. They will lock down Rice. Our O-Line is suspect and we should consider switching Osemele for Mckinnie at RT. He'd be good their. Then we should swap Harewood for Osemele. Wait one more year then put Harewood at RT. Oher, Yanda, and Birk are fine. Dickson needs to be second string and let Pitta do his thing. Pees isn't a bad cordinator, and our pass rushers are young, wait a few more games. We need to put Cary on the bench. He did horrible, let Jimmy start, Webb is Webb, and Webb and Jimmy is the next Revis and Cromarte. So the descriptions are done.

Predictions
Upshaw has a breakout game. 3 sacks
Our monsterous D-Line preassures Brady all day
Brady throws 3TD's and two picks that go back for six
Ray finishes with 14 tackles again
Brady throws for over 400 yards
Ridley has a solid 90 yard preformance with two TD's
The pats return a punt to the endzone

Torrey will show he is a complete reciver and get three TD's
Flacco has a career day and throws for over 400 yards and 5 TD's
The game is a shootout.
Ravens win in a close game
45-35 with Flacco on a game winning drive.

history says we don't have back to back losses but then again the patriots don't either. we will see who is more ticked off. before the eagles game started, i had more confidence in beating the pats rather than the eagles.

Yea, like I have said before, comparing playing against Vick to any other team with the exception of RG3 and Cam is like apples and oranges. Gronk is going to be in for a long day if Hernandez is not out there and I see us beating the Patriots next week. Don't want to do too much blitzing on Brady so our rushers is going to have to earn their money next week with winning their one on ones.

I love the way NE lost today. It felt really good, I'm still in shock that we lost though, I think it will hit me tomorrow.
