Joe Flacco says the integrity of the game was affected by the replacement refs

219 posts in this topic

Okay. Both teams deserved to lose today, they played terribly both sides. Only saving grace on the Ravens was Tucker.

That does not excuse the horrible play calling of the refs though. This needs to be fixed.

Hey folks,

A Bengals fan here living in Hawaii. I just watched the game... first; you guys got robbed by the officiating..

Don't get me wrong, in the AFC North a loss can cost the team a division; and I am all about the Bengals, but, there werer so many non-calls on pass interference no wonder your receivers couldn't get open...second...why not run with Rice in the early part of the third quarter and run the no huddle?

You made the Bengals look like fools on defense last week, (which after seeing what Cleveland did maybe that is not so difficult), but anyway, what the hey. Flacco looked "off" a bit today.

Tough loss guys...maybe the Jets can mount a comeback!!!

c u at the end of the season....

No matter what the officials do, and yes some calls on both sides were bad, Flacco still needs to make plays on a consistent basis. He is still hot and cold with his passing just like the last four years. Stop throwing balls twenty yards over your receiver's heads. By the way the pass defense was pretty bad as well. Vick had a makeshift line in front of him because of injuries, and our pass rush still couldn't get to him like they should have. Add this to all the missed tackles. They need to WRAP UP on tackling.

Honestly our team needs to learn that nothing good comes from giving those kind of quotes to the media. Today we deserved to lose and opinions that are going to come off otherwise should stay in house. I love Joe but when you have a poor performance it's not the time to go in on the replacement refs. Our public relations need to hold a meeting and get these kind of things nipped in the bud.

I think it is pretty obvious that everything Joe said is correct. Good for him for having the cojones to say it.

Great, now we will be hearing about this all week.............
Nah. This week the media will be focused on the Pats loss to Arizona. They'll be preoccupied.

Nothing wrong with what Joe said. The head coaches shouldn't be correcting the spot of the ball as often as they did today.

The media is going to be concentrating on that time when the Patriots lost Tom Brady, for the season, when they played the Chiefs?!?!? I mean, that was four years ago...

Those refs today were on a another planet. I can't believe some of the non calls they had on us, but when nnamdi and jacoby were hand fighting they call it a flag on jacoby. They need to go back to the school yard where they came from.

I thought the officiting last week was no better or no worse than usual.

Today on the other hand was pathetic, between the calls that were made and the calls that were not made it was unreal.

There was a 100% legit touchdown in the Skins Rams game that never got called. The running back broke the goal line with the ball by a ball and a half but was pushed back. The reffs just stood there watching. The RB got angery and spiked the ball. ( unsportsman like conduct fifteen yards ) field goal it is.
Granted he was an idiot for spiking the ball, but he scored a touch down first. no one wanted to make the call. The spike happend after the fact.

Flacco lol. I dont care what he says. I dont care what the media thinks. I really dont care what anyone thinks about the guy.

Bottom line, Cam needs to call better plays, Joe needs to execute better, Defense needs to play better, Rice could have picked up that one block etc...

Whole team can get better. Im not worried.

they have issues spotting the balls.....enough said. A ref at ANY level should at least be able to spot a ball. If we have to burn time outs for Harbaugh to teach the refs how to ref, we should get the time out back.

We need more players speaking out, the refs will probably cost 1-2 teams a win every week by way of their ineptitude. I can't see these guys lasting the season, I hope the NFL has enough integrity to know that we can't let these guys officiate playoff games, that would simply be a travesty.

Initially I thought the Ref's cost the Ravens the game with the Jacoby call and the non grounding call, but upon reflection, Flacco's horrific play in the 3rd quarter and Cams horrific play calling the entire second half is what did this team in.

Flacco went into "Deer in the Headlights" mode in the second half and I have no idea what Cameron was doing with his play calling and the lack of the sugar offense. Wonder if Harbaugh will be singing Cam's praises again this week.

Cameron and Flacco embarrassed themselves in the second half. I put the loss on Flacco and Cameron.

I sure hope we are not whining about the Refs all week. The team had many opportunities to win the game but kept it close by not playing smart.

A couple tips for the replacement refs:

1) A guy holding your receiver 30 yards downfield is pass interference and a spot foul, not holding and ten yards. We should've had a first and goal had that been called correctly.

2) A quarterback being contained by a defender and driven to the ground can't throw the ball five yards to no one to avoid a sack. That happened at least 3 times with Vick.

3) When the defender is in the air and the QB still has the ball in his hand, you can't call roughing the passer. That's babying the QB. Happened once, and Reed got called with one where he didn't even knock Vick to the ground.

This game took forever because of officiating. Learn where to spot the ball!

Eagles were playing with the same officials and it didn't stop Vick.

I wonder if Flacco was feeling that way when he was seen laughing on the sidelines in the fourth quarter of his crap game.
Thats really not hard to figure out. We weren't in man, holding on every stinking play.

just saw it on nfl, com. never seen flacco do anything like this. although there were some very questionable calls, we could have played a lot better...

Flacco gets dogged by the media regardless of what he says... Everything will be over-analyzed, and dissected.

That short comment wasn't that bad, I mean even Dan Dierdoff seemed upset that the TD was taken away after several replays...

The regular Refs also make bad calls but this game here was 40 minutes longer than all the other 1pm games because of all the game delays, with Poor ball spots after penalites , lack of knowledge where to place the ball following a penalty. Not knowing the difference between Pass Interference and Illegal Contact.
