Agreed. Hopefully there are no more mess ups on PAT snaps. The browns still could've tied it if they got that TD and the 2-pt conversion, but still. I will say Tucker did a nice job of just falling on it instead of trying to make something out of it. Mature responsible play

2 point conversion would have won it ;)

I'm saying if we made the PAT that we had the bad snap on.

My faith in Tucker didn't waiver at all in this game.

But I will say I'm interested to see how he plays in December/January. I was looking over his Texas schedule and they never really played in harsh winter environments. Last year he finished the season playing Texas Tech, Missouri, Kansas State, Texas A&M, Baylor, and Cal.

We shall see how he handles kicking when the winds are swirling, the ball is a rock, snow is falling.

They should send him up to Canada to get some kicks in before he is baptized by fire. Set him up to succeed and be ready for whats ahead. First real cold day of the year happens to fall on a Sunday and we could be in for a surprise.

Cundiff was 1 for 4 today. Missed a 31 yarder. 6 for 10 on the season.

Tucker's only miss was a 45+ yarder in the rain. Tucker is 8/9, with two 50+ yard FGs.

This was a great decision!

I was behind Tucker winning the job in preseason because I felt Cundiff for most of his career was an average and sometimes erratic kicker and his first season with us was more of an outlier for him. It was an excellent season for him. ( Reminds me of how Fabian Washington and Chris Carr both were impressive with us for a season and came back down to Earth soon their after).

Yesterday Cundiff was horrible I wouldn't be surprised if the Redskins cut him before seasons end, he missed 3 straight field goals and although he made the game winner, it doesn't erase the inconsistency..

Tucker has be excellent so far the 50+ yd fgs alone have been an upgrade, I hope he continues to be a consistent kicker for us.

congrats to billy cundiff for proving us wrong...wait how many did you miss? ;)
NFC east blogger at the time of the signing wrote that because wash signed cundiff it was viewed Baltimore got it wrong by keeping tucker. I told him then that Washington signing cundiff has nothing to do with tucker vs cundiff in Baltimore and everything to do with Washington ther optins.

Last night he blogged about cundiff job in jeopardy so I asked ifmitmstill shows Baltimore got it wrong...

Cundiff can't hit 50+ yard FGs... and he missed 3/4 yesterday in near-perfect outdoor conditions, but likely saved his job with that game-winner, although that was a near-miss too.

Yeah I'm really glad we kept Tucker . Cundiff will miss a lot of kicks for the Skins this year . I'm just hoping he's
still on the team when we play them !

They both (Cundiff/Tucker) will miss kicks. Most kickers do, even if they were both even by years end, I think the Ravens still made a far better choice in Tucker because of his range and age to improve upon. So far I think Tucker has certainly impressed and shown he was the better choice. However don't be surprised when the kid misses a couple.

it is scary how close this team was to cutting Tucker in favor of Cundiff. we may be 2-3 with billy as our kicker. washington is about to kick him to the curb.

Or they only made it seem close. Perhaps they were just paying Cundiff and the media lip service. Tucker was outplaying him from the very first week of TC.

Think that was the case
Cundiff is a vet and the franchise didn't want to disrespect him
Gotta help him find a job too.

But yes I cringe at what may be if cundiff was still here.

The funny thing is Cundiff looks to be on the chopping block in Washington. Poor guy. Where's Cursona Pirate?

I'm glad we chose Tucker. I'm not sure what's wrong with Billy, but it seems like he is mentally broken from that miss last year. Now hear me out: I'm not saying that because I hate Cundiff. I wished him the best in Washington. He was the goat for our failure. That loss wasn't all on him. But his attitude this year has been very poor. It's not the same attitude he had before. Something has changed with him. It's sad, really.

Agree and also think they were doing everything in their power to manufacture pressure for Tucker. There's really nothing they could do to replicate the intensity of real, game-deciding kicks in the NFL so they made him climb the highest possible mountain and he did it.

Sometimes I feel like we need to find other ways to get this kid involved lol he's just a straight up football player.

It's almost impossible that he isn't.

Remember what happened to Vanderjagt after his miss? Once these guys miss a huge kick like that, they are never the same. Cundiff wasn't even that good to begin with.

FG kicking is a mental game. After these huge misses, the goal posts actually appear narrower and narrower to these guys. Cundiff has no confidence in himself. Glad we kicked him to the curb.
