Justin Tucker

Tucker looks like he's having fun out there. Cundiff always looked so incredibly stressed. Kicking is such a mental discipline that it really helps to have a player with a great attitude. The real test will come after he misses one but I'm betting that he takes it in stride and makes that next one.

Justin Tucker tonight proved his worth. I had a feeling that he would win us some games this year but I'm so glad that his first game he wins us was against the Patriots.

I don't care how close it was. I still have faith in him 100%. The snap wasn't perfect and the hold was a little off, but he still didn't kick it well. Luckily, it went in and we're 2-1.

No harm yet. Let him keep doing his thing. Regardless of how close it was, the stats still show perfection so far.

I'll admit to being a severe pessimist. I saw that kick come off right and my hands were covering my head within a second. Didn't have the strength to look up until I heard the stadium erupt.

If I were to guess. He was a bit wound up and kicked the crap out of that ball and it sailed way high.
Not that its a bad thing.

Maybe he was getting bored with hitting it straight and decided to see how close he could get to the uprights.
It wasnt tuckers fault. If you look closely, the snapper screwed up placing the ball vertically. Blame the Morgan Cox(is that him?), not tucker on the Bad FG

I love Tucker's demeanor on the sideline. You can just imagine him being like, "ah this ain't no thang"
I know right, and when they tried to ice him he was probably like, You can't Ice me BB, nobody can!
He kicked that ball STRAIGHT up. I guess he didn't want it to be blocked.

Patriots fans really took a picture of the ball after it passed through the uprights and are using that as an argument that it wasn't good. Hilarious. Lets hope he gets back to straight up the middle though lol

I had no confidence at all that he would make it, thankfully he came through, That was a close call and borederline catastrophic.

after what happened in the AFCCG, a GW FG though the uprights is good enough for me no matter how close. i'm not taking this kick for granted. the last 2 games there was some "pressure" but in this situation "clutch" was involved. this was bigger than Texas A&M, this was the patriots we're talking about. this had to feel good for him.

I think cuz the FG is so close like an extra point and as long as you kick it hard it enough to get pass the 30yd out, you're good. However, the Pats DBs were pulling from the left side of the line which made Tucker to pull the ball upright to avoid the block, but he kicked hard enough to pass the 30yd line so it don't matter how the ball sailed afterward.

Tucker is still a clutch kicker although the kick was a bit scared in a split sec, but I think he knows how to hit the ball between the poles which it matters the most....

The snap and hold were less than stellar. With memories of Cundiff and Haushcka fresh in my mind I was still holding my breathe through what was essentially a chip shot. It was close but it was still GOOD.

Glad Tucker already has a game winner under his belt. This game will go a long way in maturing the young guy. He already looks unflappable.

i had so much confidence in him...i was pissed that we went for it on the 4th and 1 instead of letting him kick it, although im not sure how long of a fg that would have been

I'll be honest, he got iced by the timeout real bad.

One of the best kickers we've had in a while, but still. He needs to cool his nerves. It made a 27 yarder a lot more controversial than it should've been. I still love Tucker though and I think he'll be fantastic, this is a rookie mistake in my eyes.

The games over. They can cry all they want. We've been robbed before in our eyes. Turn around is fair play. I still see it as a good FG. It's history. W.

I'm glad he made it. Hopefully there was just some nerves about having the game completely depend on you. If you look at other "game-winning" kicks, if they didn't make it, it goes to OT. Tucker's was for a win or a loss, which is a lot more pressure. Now that he has his first game-winner, I hope he'll be super calm next time around.
The snap and hold were flubbed. The ball hooking right had more to do with the poor hold than Tucker. Tucker is fineeeeee

His FG right before they called TO was perfect so I was confident that the second FG to end the game would be perfect too. That was too close for comfort. I saw it, had flashbacks of Cundiff last season, closed my eyes yelling "are you kidding me?!" As someone else said, it wasn't until I heard the crowd screaming and the announcers excited that I looked up and realized we won! Wow! What a great game! I am so excited about Tucker! I think he rocks.

I went to the Patriots forums and one of their fans claimed that he was in the section directly behind the goal posts and stated that the ball was a yard wide right of the post. Was anyone here in that section to see the ball and confirm or deny this jaded fans perspective?

On ESPN they showed the flight path in slow motion last night. The ball went over the inside of the upright ( which is good) and the fans sitting directly behind the goalposts immediately jumped up signalling "good". That should be enough proof for anyone.
I always thought they should triangulate the trajectory of the ball with two cameras: one facing directly at the goal posts (the shot we see on the broadcasts) and one facing perpendicular to give a profile view. You could then track the ball by way of both cameras and the clocks on the recorders and precisely track the ball through three dimensions.

The angles and shots they show on the broadcasts are flawed... I actually thought Billy initially made the FG last January and that it did all that hooking AFTER it passed through the uprights...

I didnt even watch the kick. Had my head buried in a pillow on the floor!

Haha I swear I did the exact same thing just without a pillow...
I did peak during the kick though
