They do need to dial up some more pressure because Vick had all day to throw today and no secondary can cover for that long without someone getting open.

Those 10 yard cushions certainly don't help our pass defense.

Belichick fired him for a reason.

From what I understand, Pees left. Also, after he left their defense took a massive step backwards. Are you all blindly forgetting that Pees ran some very successful Top 10 defenses in his time at New England? Come on guys.

the lack of pressure wouldn't be such a big deal to me as long as our corners aern't in the stands when we're on D. i mean come on, can they back up any more than they did?? they're not letting our corners play physical whatsoever.

Those are some 4.2 to 4.3 in the 40 WRs lined up across of them, just saying.

Just like how Mattison 'left'? No one is denying that he had those defenses in New England, but that doesn't change the fact that they were passive defenses that don't fit with the mentality the fans expect from our defense. Our defense was top 10 with Mattison, it still didn't fit with the team's mentality.

Thanks for bringing that up it's a good point.

As other pointed out, it is just one loss and there was certainly enough blame to go around. You can't put this loss squarely on Pees. With that said I will admit I do love a very aggressive defense, like Pagano ran last year.

They're also 5'10" and weigh 160 lbs. It's called press coverage. We drafted a corner to help move the defense in that direction last season.

I didnt read through hardly any of this, but I want to add my 2¢ the pressure at times seemed good. At times they did have a good push from the line, now I dont know deffense terms/schemes, the corners played too far off the recievers. I dont remember this team ever giving up that many 3rd and longs. Also they need to take tackling lessons too many missed tackles! And not to make this a Cary thread but he's pretty bad.

I dont know if it is time to run him out of town, but ill agree, the play calling today was very vanilla. Rushing only 3 on 3rd and long, and no corner blitzes!! I loved those in the cinci game!

How long do you think they can jam them at the line with lack of immediate pressure on Vick running a Cover 1 defense?

I just want to note: FWIW, no one threw at Webb today.
Just sayin'
That's because Vick could just throw at Celek who was completely uncovered.

Im on board to run Pees out, he is horrible...............I hate the way the defense looked. Players running wide open in the secondary does not sit well with me.

Pees isn't bad, its just hard to cover a team where everyone (outside Celek and the O-Line) runs 4.2-4.3. His gameplan today sucked, but let me say this again Its one game

Asomugha, Nnamdi who?

Jacoby Jones owned him all day; if it wasn't bad call from horrified refs, he would had had 2 tds against Nnamdi....

Offensively, we played bad but the refs are the ones determining the outcome of the game....

PS: I hate this crap.....

I was mad with Cary Williams at first but Ed Reeds gamble is more to blame for the Maclin TD... But Ed made up for that later with the INT.... I'm still not sure what to think of Peas... Because Today seemed like a day of blown coverages, due to lack of rush and Vick running around. I mean there was at least 4 passes to Celek with no one 5 yards around him.

What bugged me about the defense was that the Eagles Center and LT both went out and we didn't throw any stunts or exotic blitzes at them to exploit this, when those injuries occurred I thought the flood gates would open up and Vick would be scrambling for his life every play, but it was the opposite

And I know this is going to sound crazy but since this team opted to not cut Kindle after preseason how about we at least see the guy get in on pass rushing situations I mean theres barely any pressure anyway at least see if he can give an edge rush on an obvious passing situation. I mean otherwise why did the team bother keeping him at all, hopefully not for another year of inactivity!!!!

I dunno if it was the schemes or just our players being morons, but letting Brent freakin' Celek prance around all day all alone was idiotic. Good job guys! Give Pees a chance guys, I mean we gave Mattison the same slack.

Why would they need to attack the best corner in the game, cary williams and smith were getting abused and the LB were leaving the middle open for Celek all day. I am somewhat disappointed in Jimmy smith to this point, he was often out of position, getting caught on double moves, and taking poor angles.

its not his fault they're not using him like he is supposed to be used. he's 6'2. why put a 6'2 corner in soft coverage. this is more stupid scheme than smith failing. he is not put in a position to succeed and neither is williams who also likes to be physical. when he was hired, he and harbaugh promised the same scheme as last year. well, it couldn't be any more different.

I miss pagano for sure, but its week 2 vs a high octane offence. I think what the Bengals did today showed that Pees can gameplan against elite offences, the Eagles had a better game plan, and executed it terribly, offence just sputtered.

Everyone needs to calm down. There was some bad playcalling, but he's new at this and there are new elements of this team. Yes, we needed more blitzing and pass rushing, but hopefully they view the film and see the mistakes in playcalling. It's his second week in this job. We still have a good team, good staff, and have the ability to win the Superbowl. We're still one of the best teams in the league.

o my gosh come on man... seriously? You want Pees gone? Pees has done a great job. He's allowing our playmakers to make plays, we dont have pass rushers, that can't be freaking helped... We lost suggs, and we didn't even have Kruger this game... what do you expect from him, they only scored 24 points at home... We just have to pay homage to the Eagles defense. Those guys are foreal, Flacco couldn't set his feet all night.
