We all know that Pollard is probably, at the moment, the biggest hitter on our defense. I'm sure he'll play the Pats even if he's hurt, and this leads to a thought..
Tradition has Pollard killing a Patriot, well, every time he gets the chance.. Who will he destroy this time? Brady again? (Because I don't know if you guys noticed, but Pees sends him blitzing about 20% of the time), Will it be the Gronk? Our defense probably will kill the next tight end to step on the field as a redeption for what happened with Celek..

I think he'll take them both. Who do you think will be the Slayer's next victim?

Think he has taken Welker out before as well.

If he lays a nice clean hit on Gronk, I would love it. He concerns me the most.

I wonder if these replacement refs are all up on Brady's jock strap like the old refs?

Guess we will find out!

I don't know but it will be huge. Legend has it, he was responsible for Hernandez getting injured last game. Don't know who it will be, but it's building up to be epic.

I'm gonna guess it's Robert Kraft somehow.

If i know anything from Patriots on AFCC game...patriots got jack squat on defense. Only option they'll seek is to play dirty, win at all cost. I expect to see alot of holding from their joke CBs and not get a call from blind referees

Maybe they will line Pollard up at Fullback for one play and let him take out Wilfork! Now that would be an accomplishment.

The Pats D is actually second in the league (yards/game). It's still way earlier so that doesn't mean a whole lot but they've been pretty stout. A spot that can be exploited is the OL, imo, without Brian Waters they've struggled and I don't think Nate Solder is all that good.

He didnt even have to touch welker. Welker tried to make a cut to avoid pollard and he broke his own ankles (ok, knee)

I honestly think he can take Wilfork out. He's that tough.

Best pick up player, Bernard Pollard; I hope he's suited up for the Pats. He is one of the most important piece for our defense and secondary....

Might be Leach, but yeah, Pollard is probably my favourite player on the team. He will kill you, trash talk to make you stand up again just so he can hit you again

they've faced 2 second year qb's basically that aern't very good at all and neither have good RB's either (johnson is way way overrated)

I agree and I said it doesn't mean much but they've played well on defense, regardless

I'm a fan of Pollard, but I wonder if all of his talk about liking to hit people has the attention of the League and has made him a marked man by the refs. Last week, he got a personal foul that, upon replay, appeared to be a completely legal hit. I've seen several others like that since he's been here. It seems to me that if his hits really were helmet to helmet (I believe that was the call on some of his penalties) that he would be getting fined a lot. I suspect that when the hits are reviewed by the League after the games, they are seen to be legal; hence, no fines assessed. I wonder if Pollard quit talking about how much he likes to hit people, he might be able to get rid of his "marked man" status and the penalties would go away. Thoughts?

He's been viewed as a hard hitter and "dirt player" in some people eyes for years. He will always be looked at under a microscope. He just needs to keep playing the way he's playing and all will be good!

Cant understand why this was merged with a thread from months ago thats isnt even on the same topic of conversation, anywhoo.

Nail on the head. Hes outspoken, plays tough and hard. Hes clearly been noticed, be it deliberatly or just sub consciously by the refs, either way when he hits someone crossing the middle of the field, expect a flag.

The jags game last year is a perfect example, led with shoulder, smashed the receiver in the chest the second the ball arrived, very similar to rays hit on keller of the jets. It was a perfect example how to legally knock someone out, yet he was flagged, and part of that has to be his reputation.
