MERGED: Post-game thoughts about the Eagles game.....

124 posts in this topic

If we all see how the second half went so terribly wrong WTH is Cam Cameron doing? I am having flashbacks of other times when he just abandons the run last season. Ray Rice's shortest run was what? 2 yards. And on like 2 or 3 3rd and 2's you decided to go in shotgun formation when Philly's D was SHUTTING DOWN THE PASSING GAME???

It was not a chess match, it was a game of rock, paper, scissors and Cam cameron just kept throwing down scissors even when everyone saw it coming. Please everybody saw what happened in the second half can we find someway to do something about it.

Pitta's game is short to intermediate. That's just the way it is. The fact remains, he got his today. Q and Torrey should have received more targets and Rice needed more touches on the ground, especially in short-yardage situations.

he got his in the first half. we completely abandoned him in the second. where were all the play actions with him running a crossing route that worked so well against cincinnati?

How in the world is our defense going to perform against Brady and Peyton? They allowed almost 500 yards today! Eagles wide receivers, wide open. Our rush defense seems non existent this year.

And Flacco...I'm not a hater and want to see him being successful, but elite quarterbacks would have won today despite the difficulty. Flacco has been inconsistent year after year. The no huddle offense should have had huddles since they were soooooooooooo slow. ANd got a late snap penalty! He has no pocket awareness. VIck, Brady, Peyton, they all scramble and Flacco seems oblivious to who's coming after him and allows himself to get hit.

His passing rate, I fear, is going to be at the bottom of the list today. Although, after this rant, I would probably say that our defense cost us the game today rather than inconsistent Flacco.

All in all, the season will continue as it always does, without improvements or changes. We may make it to the playoffs again. After our performance against the Bengals, I thought we would dominate the league. After the Eagles game today, I have my doubts. Again, because of the same pattern....play a good game then lose next week to a pathetic team.

doesnt take that much creativity to give the ball to your pro bowl running back who has 9 yards per carry. its not about a lack of creativity, its about stupidity.

I was mainly talking about Dean Pees Rushing 4 Playing zone every play allowing us to get torched...Thats stupidity...

I called 27-23 Eagles and it was even closer but, even I have to admit, where did the ray Rice draw plays go?
I`m used to the Eagles going into a shell but man that was odd.
Rice should`ve been used more.
Anyways its only week to 2 and a lot of ball to be played
Good luck going forward.

We didn't see the game. Different game, different match-ups, different calls.

The Ref issue needs to get resolved ASAP. These calls are cost the game.
My thoughts exactly. Getting that TD taken away ruined it, for sure. I'm so mad.

We ran the ball 20 times. That is plenty. Rice had 16 carries and 6 receptions.
About 28 carries in a game like this would have been great, especially sitting on a league for most of the game.

I'm still confused as to why the team abandoned the No-huddle after moving the ball quickly in 1st qtr. while in the No huddle the eagles were reacting slowly, then in the semi-huddle Ray rice gashed them running... All of sudden tempo totally was abandoned. After the first 3 and out when it was 14-7 we should have ran Rice up the middle more where big runs were happening.

Defensively well, the pass rush truly is horrible even with the eagles losing several lineman still couldn't get consistent or decent pressure. The end of the game was predictable because in the NFL defenses play almost a prevent in the 4th qtr with a lead. And I never heard an update on Pollard after he left the game.

Ray and Co had to keep the big eye on Vick so it's understandable. Take Vick from the game and replace him with a QB that doesn't posses Vick scrambling abilities and Celek doesn't do that.

Are you sure that wasn't Tony Gonzalez in his prime, out there? Maybe Brent Celek and Rob Gronkowski exchanged names? Because, like you said, Celek definitely felt uncovered, today. As if no player was assigned to cover him and/or line-up where he was catching footballs on the field.

Its so sad to read the post of fair weather fans. The Ravens were cheated.
What fair weather fans? Outside of Baltimore there are little Ravens Fans. In fact most people hate the Ravens just because.

Incredibly poor offensive game-planning. This has been the story of our offense these past few years. Excluding the first game of each year--which we have 6 months to plan for--if our guys don't physically dominate their match-ups we struggle on offense. We rarely outscheme opponents... And in the NFL that's a problem.

Pollard was the perfect match for him. When he went down we had nobody.

Yeah, Baltimore's defense seemed to lose that "physicality" once Bernard Pollard got hurt. Pollard would have been the perfect match for Brent Celek. Let's hope his chest injury isn't anything major...

Dean Pees..WTH!.. Don't get me wrong I think he is a good "LB" coach and all but D coordinator NO!!! He has no creativity... We got torched from running zone all game...I just don't understand it...It felt like we never ran man and just let vick sit in the pocket and torch us with absolutely no pass rush...Looks like we have Mattison part 2...Oh and the WRs got absolutely no separation which made flacco look like a scrub....

McClelan is a beast and Upshaw is growing each game...

Dickson was nonexistent, Torrey nonexistent except that long pass...Boldin had like one catch in the first i think, Pitta was Pitta... Jacoby is pretty good.. Ray rice needs his touches...

Just being honest....What Does everyone think?
What do I think? The ENTIRe team played poorly. Plain and simple. The defense looked like a bunch of little girls out there. The offense was non-existent. Joe was horrible, pass defense was horrible, CBs were horrible, Oline and Dline were horrible. What is to say. Are the Eagles Cbs so good that we cannot get any separation? Must be, since Joe kept throwing into multiple coverage. Is our Oline so weak it cannot make even a little hole for Rice? I guess so. Where was the hurry up offense? I thought I had accidentally taped and was watching the Browns game from last week. Terrible game just terrible.

Our coordinators were awful this game. I am really concerned with Dean Pees D resembling Greg Mattison's when we took a huge step backwards. What worries me most is our inability to adapt and make necessary adjustments during a game. It appears that if Cam doesn't have an entire offseason to prepare for a game, especially on the road, that our offense is bad. Why would we completely abandon the run in the 3rd quarter when Ray was averaging like 9 yards a carry. We ran no play action despite the effectiveness or the run, and I still don't understand why we didn't go no huddle considering its effectiveness last week. We missed Suggs terribly in this game, and I am concerned going forward with our pass rush. Our D was so vanilla, caused very little confusion, and if it wasn't for Ladarius, Pollard, and Ngata today we would have lost worse. Flacco really had very little opportunity to make plays or hit throws off 5 step drops due to pass protection. Cam is having him try to make too many low percentage throws on important downs and seems to be unwilling to run the football on 3rd and short. Pees and Cam lost this game for us in my opinion, although the refs surely didn't help. Whatever, we'll come back hard next week, this was an away conference game against a good team.

We are still fans we are just upset by the extremely poor play of our team. The team wasn't cheated. Both teams had to play under the horrible officiating.

T-Sizzle

Terrell Suggs.

There was hardly a pass rush at times in that second half and Vick made us pay when he had FOREVER to throw.

Suggs. Get well soon my friend. We are good enough to make it to the playoffs without you but we're gonna need you back after that.
