MERGED: Post-game thoughts about the Eagles game.....

124 posts in this topic

Just getting straight to the point........ we abandoned the run almost completely in the 2nd half. Sure, they was stuffing a couple of runs but it was more so consisting of the D-Coordinator beating Cam in the chess match meaning they played the run when we ran. We can't abandon the run, I repeat, we can't abandon the run. Put Joe under center more with the threat being bigger of it being a run than putting him in shotgun all the time, especially on the 3rd and 4th and short.

I also still see that just rushing your front 4 and dropping everyone back is a bit of a problem but it wouldn't be so much of a problem if Joe was under center with the threat of running the ball being there are actually running the ball. C'mon Cam, don't do this again. Win the game of chess in the 2nd half.

- I will point out that their Dbs was holding the crap out of our Wrs , that got to be called..

Dean Pees..WTH!.. Don't get me wrong I think he is a good "LB" coach and all but D coordinator NO!!! He has no creativity... We got torched from running zone all game...I just don't understand it...It felt like we never ran man and just let vick sit in the pocket and torch us with absolutely no pass rush...Looks like we have Mattison part 2...Oh and the WRs got absolutely no separation which made flacco look like a scrub....

McClelan is a beast and Upshaw is growing each game...

Dickson was nonexistent, Torrey nonexistent except that long pass...Boldin had like one catch in the first i think, Pitta was Pitta... Jacoby is pretty good.. Ray rice needs his touches...

Just being honest....What Does everyone think?

I am so upset right now I can’t see straight. What was going on with all the over thrown passes. Who was calling all the stupid plays? Where was the O-Line? Where was the no huddle offense that scored 44 points? Maybe I need to sit down and relax but i am so upset with the offense. And I think it starts with CAM and Harbaugh but I also blame Joe for the over thrown passes. Terrible game plan by both coordinators.

I am not a fan of Pees. He has looked awful in his first two showings. It looks like we are going back to Mattison-ball, which we already know DOESN'T WORK. Eagles receivers were wide open all...day...long.

Inconsistent play calling by Cameron. We ran the same play on three straight 3rd downs and it didn't work. Line was off, Flacco was off and trying to force balls. Didn't target Pitta and Rice enough.

The PI on Jones in the end zone was a terrible call. It may have cost us the game. The refs sucked it up all day long.

Cam should have trusted the interior line, Leach and Rice to convert on a few of the third and shorts.

Even Philly's below-average line, I was encouraged by the pressure the defense brought.

Tough loss, but I'm confident they'll bounce back next week.

Like I said, football games aren't always pretty, but it's just like that Lee Evans thing last year - one play would have made the outcome look completely different, and the refs screwed up big time.

Offense was totally overmatched. Except for the rushing offense which we hardly utilized. Flacco was off his game in the 2nd half. It's not completely his fault, but he can shoulder some of the blame.

Flacco wasn't as sharp but Pitta and Rice combined for FIFTEEN targets. They saw plenty of the ball.

No sense of urgency with the offense.
Playcalling seemed random much like when fassel was oc
Torrey wasn't sent in motion or used in a manner to free him up.
Passing plays we're blah
Zone defense wasn't good early
Not sure why jimmy wasn't on djax earlier

Liked upshaw today
Liked the dl for the most part
Just really irked with no focus on offense
It was is if every play called was expected to be a big play so no reason to set anything up

There is NO WAY you will ever win a game that has been fixed from the onset. The last TD that Joe threw should have been the game. Here is just ONE MORE case of a game that SHOULD have been won by the RAVENS. The Eagles cheated. It's as simple as that. I am sick to death of games being decided by refs. Did you notice the "supposed" push off was NEVER shown. They ALWAYS show the replay! There were many GIFTS in this game as well. The first two Eagles TDs were BOTH gifts. The NFL NEVER wanted another team here. We are always going to pay the price for that.

I don't usually say this: the refs really screwed us today. No intentional grounding/fumble towards the end? Offensive pass-interference on J. Jones when HE was clearly getting held, and a multitude of blown calls by the refs seriously went in favor of the Eagles (who I know hate as bad as the Steelers with their dirty playing).

With that being said, our offense reverted back to it's old methods, which don't really work, in favor of an offense that dominated last week. We certainly weren't running the same no-huddle offense as we did last week. Joe looked inconsistent, the offensive line was sub-par, and Jimmy and Cary, over-all, just stink!! There's a lot to be disappointed in today, period.

We ran the ball 20 times. That is plenty. Rice had 16 carries and 6 receptions.

Several of those targets were little dumpoff plays for nothing. Cameron doesn't get very creative with Pitta's routes.

Not enough running the ball in the third when throwing wasn't getting it done and aside of the picks I thought the D was flat out terrible today. We miss Sizzle so badly.

My friend is over reacting like everyone else is. I know you want to win every game but we just can't. We are 1-1 and that is that. let's move on to the Patriots for next Sunday Night who is also coming off a loss against the Arizona Cardinals.

Stop Over Reacting to everything. We did the same thing last year and ended up in the AFC Title game, so no need to over react two weeks into the season.

The offense was so predictable that even I knew Joe was throwing to Rice on the final down of the game. It was so evident he was going to try and dump it off, which just symbolizes such lack of trust in an offense everyone praised last week. Ole' Skip Bayless will have a field day tomorrow.

Still there is that huge inexplicable gap where we would just throw 3 times and punt. We didn't run enough considering it was the only thing working.

Cam Cameron must have forgotten Ray Rice was still there in the second half. He also must have thought "Hey, lets be unpredictable, remember how well we were doing mixing it up with runs, play actions, and passes and doing no huddle. Yeah we are going to stop all that and just drop Joe Flacco back and make him throw every play no matter what, and lets get rid of that no huddle."

Hey its third and short, we have one of the best running backs in the NFL, butttt NOOO we are going to just put Ray Rice in to block. Good call Cam Cameron.

doesnt take that much creativity to give the ball to your pro bowl running back who has 9 yards per carry. its not about a lack of creativity, its about stupidity.

The third down and short passes three times in a row were infuriating.

Going into that final drive, i didnt feel too confident in our pass protection against Cole and Babin. Flacco gets frantic and over throws when he's under pressure.

Why is McKinnie not at LT? Oher is not a LT and Williams should replace Harewood. We have to be able to pass protect in critical situations

Pitta's game is short to intermediate. That's just the way it is. The fact remains, he got his today. Q and Torrey should have received more targets and Rice needed more touches on the ground, especially in short-yardage situations.
