Yanda and Birk are playing there position like a textbook would play the game. The other guys are playing with power and that is all we can ask for now..

No, last year McKinnie looked great week 1 then was average. Oher's been much better all offseason, Osemele and Harewood were in their first starts, and Yanda's one of the best guards in the game. Why would you think the line would get worse? We have guys now who are physical beasts, not aging vets (except Birk, sorry Birk). It's early. Last year they looked great week 1 and the rest of the year were average at best.
Losers always say "Next time's gonna be different!". That's right, next time you're gonna lose again.

Jesus stop putting words in my mouth. It's just too early to herald them as a complete product. My point is that and be proven wrong for the whole season. grubbs was injured oher was average burke was constant birk was constantly getting pushed back by big lineman. They weren't terrible but they were not as good as they looked week 1

Its not a matter of Oher "knowing there are other guys who can do his job", its a matter of him being the best guy on the roster to protect Flacco's blind side, not to mention being the only RELIABLE offensive tackle we've even had on the roster since he was drafted. This no huddle helps the entire o-line because just like Joe, they can now come to the line and look at what the defense is showing and at least get a decent idea of what they are going to try and do. Even without the no-huddle, it has killed me for the last 4 years when I would see the team break the huddle with 10 to 15 seconds left on the play clock. The plays should have been in from the sideline faster to give a smart guy like Flacco and a very intelligent vet like Birk the chance to look over the defense and make neccessary adjustments. Now, with the up tempo, its guaranteed our offense can get a look and see if the defense is tipping its hat. I'm sure there will be lapses with the o-line sometime in the season, what line doesn't have them? But as long as we're getting to the line quickly, it will always be advantage: offense.
Everything you said is true. I still want to see the no huddle work on road games in hostile environments where to crowd noise can mess with communication. I believe the line will be good this year but I'm not going to jump the gun until I see more same with Joe

YesThis offensive line with Oher at Left Tackle seemed Great. I never seen Oher play a game without having the little penalties like the false start one. Oher knows that we have guys that can fill in for him at Left Tackle let alone Right Tackle. Harewood, had a great night and Osemele as well. Watching this fairly young offensive line along Veteran leader at Center Matt Birk come together is a thing of Beauty.

Sure I'm not going to lie to you and say that this is the best offensive line I ever seen, the quarterback throwing/handing off for 30+ TD points is pretty darn impressive. Bare in mind against a division opponent who managed to slide into the post season last year with a wild card. If the O-line gels like this we should be expecting some good success this season.Yes

What is one game? Look what we did last year. We blew out Pitt. and then laid an egg against Tenn. Sure, I am excited about the OL, but what is one game?
Exactly.

But it's going to take about 2 more games before we really know. New Englands a fairly difficult front to run on, and the Eagles have a good pass rush. We'll beat the browns, but going into week 5 we'll know a lot more.

Gino needs to step up soon, I see him getting snaps vs Pats if Wilfork dominates Birk again. Not saying it would be an upgrade, but Birk will take a beating
I think Birk's poor performance was more about the wear of a full season then about being against Wilfork in particular. He's been going up against amazing NT's (Casey Hampton comes to mind, Geno Atkins more recently) forever. Obviously he's going to get beat sometimes, everyone does, but he should play fine.
My favorite thing about our new offense is that it helps mask our oline weaknesses. The ball comes out quickly, giving defenses a smaller window, and it wears them down as the game goes on.

I like this group moving forward. Even if they have a rough outing I think we should stick with it cuz they're only gonna improve. Mckinnie is a proven LT so Oher must have earned that spot, and I didn't hear #74 all night so that's a good thing. My only concern is Birk. He's showing his age and if really starts to struggle or gets injured I don't think Gino is ready.
Surprisingly, I heard 82 on a couple of penalties though! Smh! lol

One was a false start; the other was a terrible block-in-the-back call.

ER20 takes off and then gets distracted by a debate going on...
