I am at a loss with the reasoning why McKinnie did not start and play the entire game. Is it a power trip to make sure he does not make any extra incentive cash ? I was pretty pissed when he did not show up for training camp and with out a phone call to Harbs to boot and then when he did arrive he was out of shape. 3 Million may be small change to NFL players but if someone pays me 3 Million and asks me to lose some weight and get into football shape i would do my very best to meet their expectations.

Is the Front Office mad at him for all of the above and are just making him suffer. If he was not going to play and they knew it why fill his contract with incentives they knew they were not going to give him a chance to reach ?

Oher and KO are more athletic which fits the no huddle. Something else Oher doesn't get credit for is his run blocking. He will show this year that he fits well in our system. Also he is the future of orlur line I think and in contract year so why not see if he's up to the task before either resigning or letting him test FA.

Its also good to have starting quality depth at tackle in McKinnie.

McKinnie has a conditionning problem when playing the no huddle. Maybe the Ravens wanted to send a message as an organization... no ones starting role is granted. You have to work hard... what McKinnie hasnt done arriving late at training camp with stupid reasons and all.

Anyway, both tackles have done a great job. What surprised me most was Harewood but hey he impressed me. I LOVE our offense. Quick, energic, effective. Joes making a lot of call at the LOS. You have to be aware and know the playbook very well. That may play against Williams.

The organization feel he is no longer a top 5 lineman on the team and wanted his base salary to reflect that. The reason the incentives are there is because if he does happen to see a lot of playing time he'll be paid the additional $1m because he would have earned it.

yea i was upset when that i thought we released McKinnie but after week 1 i have to say K.O played very well. we will see next week against some elite pass rushers but he looked like a nice fit out there. McKinnie must be to slow for the tempo were trying to run which explains so much focus on getting him lighter and more in shape this offseason which he didnt fully grasp obviously.

The better players play. He seems to be a backup now. Hence the pay decrease!

The front office likes to win
So if he was one of our better ol he would play
No power trip necessary
Remember we've had players in the doghouse who still got reps

We are trying to get younger at the O'line and it seems to be working. The older, grizzled vets can be (semi)solid backups.

I'm really not all that concerned that McKinnie isn't playing. I was impressed with what I saw with Oher against CIN, but I think we'll really get a good impression of him come Sunday against a strong front 7.

Fact is, Oher is more nimble, more conducive to the type of offense we are running. It just makes more sense. But it's great to have him backing up MO in case he goes down/struggles.

Man coverage on Boldin is LOL.

I doubt it has much to do with money. Oher outperformed him in the preseason, he's younger, in better shape, and much more athletic.

Surprised we haven't seen McKinnie housing a hot dog Sanchez style on the sidelines....

If Oher had played poorly I'd get this, but he was actually really really good.
