Being the Monday Night game, we had to wait all the way through Sunday... and as most of you probably know some Redskins fans... I'm sure you got the "YOU GAVE UP ON HIM TOO SOON! THANKS FOR CUNDIFF!" comments.

And hey, Cundiff played a great game. He didn't miss, and he even got back to his touchback-kicking form.

So going into Monday Night Football, Tucker had all the pressure on him:

1. His very first NFL game.
2. Monday Night Football.
3. The added pressure of Art Modell's passing and how emotional the team was.
4. Being how last season ended with a missed kick, he couldn't start this season the same way.
5. Just seeing the guy the Ravens let go to sign Tucker have a flawless game the day before...
6. Until the 3rd quarter, the game was only a 7 point game.

Obviously, there was every reason for this guy to crumble under the pressure.

Well, he lived up to what I was hoping to see from him. I feel comfortable trusting him. He just looks like he's confident. Doesn't look like the moment will ever get too big for him. Let's not try to be too "creative" with the kicks and try asking him to keep the ball out of the endzone in hopes the coverage can get down there before the ball is at the 20. Just let him knock it out for a touchback!

I wouldn't worry too much about Redskins saying things like we gave up on Cundiff to soon, because sometimes a fresh start is needed for both sides and I think this fresh start for the Ravens with Tucker and a fresh start for Cundiff in Washington is going to work out for both sides.

Tucker is something special, and I actually think Tucker is going to make a critical GW FG at some point this year that is going to show how special he truly is.

1 game does not buy this guy years of kicking experience... I think it most certainly looks good, after watching the Raiders kicker go down I did cringe a little...

I like what the Redskins have done so far... We look for a more worthy opponent much like the steelers when we play the Battle, the battle of Beltways the I-95 battle..

If we're talking from training camp, yes. For regular season, no. He's right where I thought he would be. I still want to see him have to rush a kick and see how he responds. We will see how he handles the weather change later in the season. He's confident which I like and no kicking situation has seemed to big for him. Happy we went this route.

I love the kids swagger. Just love it. I hope that he's able to maintain that swagger after a miss or two.

The Redskins can have Cundiff. I guarantee that he will miss a critical kick for them sometime this year. Even if Tucker misses a few, he will still be the same. I don't want perfection, rather just a chance for him to make a kick with the game on the line.

Cundiff made 40 yarders in a dome. Those are kicks he should make. But I agree Tucker looked very comfortable.

We'll see how he kicks in the cold, so far I am impressed with his confidence. Its a very long season he'll have to come out and play every week. Impressing my would be nailing a 63 yarder like Akers haha.

I mentioned something similar to this in another thread. Tuck looks like the real deal, but let's see him perform in the wind and snow at Cleveland and on the crap turf in pburgh before crowning him.
And remember, Billy was pretty much lights out at home inside of 50.

Cundiff's first attempt was just shy of the right post.

I like Tucker. Not expecting 100%, just want him to be confident and if he misses then he does. Just as long as the game is not on the line.

He has great confidence and that is the most important thing for a kicker. I am glad Billy got a new begining with the Skins. That Pats loss would've just haunted him as the Ravens kicker. No way he could stomach pressure situations, the way a hungry rookie can.
