Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has been named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week for leading the Ravens to a 44-13 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Flacco completed 21-of-29 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns no interceptions. He finished the game with a quarterback rating of 128.4.

This is Flacco’s second time winning the award, as he also was also recognized during his rookie season in 2008 following a 248-yard, two-touchdown effort against the Browns.

He is the fifth quarterback in team history to win the award, as Kyle Boller, Tony Banks, Anthony Wright and Vinny Testaverde were also recipients.

That immediately destroys any credibility of that award.

Congrats, Joe! Fatherhood hasn't slowed him down one bit!

This is great! But I hope the next topic created on Flacco is the one saying we signed him to a long term deal. I'm hoping 7 or 8 years.

Flacco deserved this, but I am also surprised Manning didn't get it

Congratulations on the award as it's very much deserved.

Flacco looks like a different quarterback than I've seen in the past , of course he deserves the lions share of the credit but Caldwell and maybe even Cam (for giving him the keys) deserves some as well.

That said the next step is Flacco stacking up good games which he looks capable of.

The NFL is trying to make us pay him through the roof. Just your everyday conspiracy theory.

I don't think it was Cam's decision to give him the keys.

Me too haha. I remember something similar happened in his rookie year against Jacksonville, he had like 297 yards in a blowout but he left the game in the 4th - would've been his first 300. The selfish fan in me wants those numbers but I'm glad our team and players aren't so interested in that... unlike other teams...

I think that being in the Monday Night game on ESPN might have helped push him ahead of Manning. It's unfortunate for Tom Brady that his outstanding game is so close to average for him that he has to do something herculean to win it. Manning is back from injury and Joe hasn't consistently put up these kinds of numbers for years like they have. It makes it a bit easier for a big game of his to stand out.
