Just some idiot's opinion, blah blah blah ... we know this, so dont respond with that to this thread.
This is tongue in cheek ... just like NFL.com's Power Rankings!!

Now, the interesting thing is, we aren't even a close #4 -- we trail Houston by 30 points
To put that in perspective, consider that a mere 8 points seperates #1 SFO (399 points) and #3 Houston (391 points).
Ravens are #4 with 361 points.

tsk tsk....

I like us being under the radar - all the better to squashing it in other fans' faces when we come out of nowhere and win. :D

I'm fine with being number 4. I don't want to be crowned as the team to beat. I honestly have us at number 2 behind SF, like I said in another thread, but I have zero issue with not being everyones darling.

Flacko, Rise and Torrie are going to have big years. Dixon still has trouble holding on but luckily we have Pita back healthy. Bolden almost and anywhere but home would've cost us a td but I'll let that go. Jackobee played much better than I though he would and had big catches. I don't care about us not being 1 but why not the Niners? They beat the hype paper champs while the Pats basically took on a rookie qb. The reasoning they give for why certain teams remain and others move always seem contradictory. This should be a scary team though. Wish we got to play the Jets to see what we could do to their secondary.

Watch how the rankings change on 2/3/13. But we should be used to this. Watch them all hop on soon enough. I can't wait till we win the Superbowl and Flacco gives the finger to ESPN, Jamie Dukes, Troll Bayless and all the other frauds who've hated the last 5 years. Can't wait!

Would love to see the look on Goodell's face then!

Is being 4 on a power ranking being hated? We played 1 game, and won it. But there is still 15 games left. Let's just give it some time, and see if we can continue this offensive showing

we'll just have to work our way up... straight up to 2nd after wins vs eagles and pats... and then will sort the 9ers in SB

Well, not that it means anything, but we are #3 in the league right now and #1 in the AFC. Since it is Week 1 loses its importance however, that is what really matters and not the so-called experts little rankings.

I did like seeing Pittsburgh fall even further. :)

Who cares?...

I care about standings, not rankings.

I think we all do, sir. However, I do not see an issue with discussing rankings. Is there really a problem with that? Isn't that what message boards are for? Discussing topics? Maybe?

I'm fine w/ 4th. I think we're all caught up in the hysteria of the impressive first game. This time last year we thought we were the greatest show on turf v2 and then we came back to earth after a humbling loss to the Titans in week 2. Lets get a few games under our belts (hopefully all wins) before we start complaining about Power Rankings.

I am so glad I got my #1 power ranking ring when we were first on it last year at the beginning of the year.

Honestly, I have no problem. I can see arguments for us being anywhere from #1 to #5. Lets not forget that we did the exact same thing last year week 1. We came in with a stellar gameplan and thrashed the Steelers only to lack good game plans going forward.

I'm fine with #4. The 9ers deserve the top spot after who they beat and where they beat 'em. You know the Pats are always gonna get the nod at #2. I think we should be above the Texans considering we went farther last year and we had a more impressive win over a more impressive opponent in week 1. Pete Prisco's rankings irritate me the most, he had us at 12, prior to week 1, behind the Steelers and Bengals. His top 5 is the Pats, Texans, Falcons, 9ers then us right now. That makes no sense.

if we beat them then we would have to be #1 in the rankings, that would mean we beat 3 calibur teams this season..i see why 49ers are number 1 because of GB but we beat 49ers and if we beat the pats that should count just as much as beating GB

Eh GB hasnt looked that impressive since last season but i guess im one of the very few who has noticed that they fell off, and wasnt the powerhouse in preseason as far as first team goes, but if 49ers deserve the number 1 then the redskins deserve a top ten spot because i think they're win was more impressive than 49ers...we should be above texans but 4 is cool

While I get a bit frustrated when I see the Power Rankings and wonder what exactly goes into making these things, I try to remember that at the end of the day they mean absolutely nothing. They are just something that was created to stir conversation and argument. People should take these things as a tentative ranking based on the previous weeks performance but they are in no way representative of what team is better than another. We saw last year that any team can be beaten any given Sunday.

We always drop during the offseason. Always. These so-called experts predict our downfall before the season starts and then consider their erroneous opinionated preseason predictions the status quo. So when we start low we move up in hierarchy like way.

GB is what, 15 - 3 in their last 18 games? Hard to say that they are slipping...and yet, I think I agree. Their defense is going to cost them a few more games this year, because that offense cant hurt you from the sidelines.

Although I read Espn weekly power rankings it honestly shouldn't even happen until about week 6 when teams have really begin to gel show signs of a good team, bad team, or team that wins in streaks...
