Cam Cameron haters?

56 posts in this topic

I was a huge Cam Cameron critic. With that said, I love the way we played last night on offense. I like the no huddle, the shotgun at times, spreading the ball around, letting Joe take more control and make adjustments at the line. Saving Ray Rice for the long haul (career wise) but still letting him get the right touches to be extremely productive.

Whether Cam finally realized he needed to open up his playbook to this type of play, Jim Caldwell's influence was the key, or Joe just had enough...........I don't care just keep doing what your doing right now and I will leave Cam alone!

Gruden and Tirico pointed out several times that it was Flacco's numerous audibles that consistently put us in good situations / matchups.
ya its all flacco..... cause cam didnt design the offense or anything

He can design it all he wants; it was Flacco audibling out of Cam's play calls that showed me who the real boss is

Its both. Cam called good plays, and Joe called good audibles. Football is a team game, and the credit doesn't go to just one person.

Go back and listen to Flacco's presser after the Jags preseason game where he addresses the no huddle offense (time approx.5:05 mark) and listen to his answer to the question posed "How much more of a voice do you feel like you have in this offense now compared to years past?"

His answer tells you who is running this offense and he didn't say Cam!

Plus, Flacco wasn't talking to Cam on that phone last night during the entire game, just sayin!

Good article that describes Cam's strategy, I guess we will see who prevails on this one...

Bring this up after 6 games then we will talk

Thinking the samething, I'm just praying Cam doesn't go back to the same old , same old if/when Flacco throws an INT.

Im with you, I personally think Cam will keep the Offense the way it is. Wouldn't you, if you were getting all this praise and attention around the league.

Its crazy how all these SO CALLED Sports analyst are jumping on Board all the sudden, Wagon is getting filled fast.

I guess all hope is lost for some of you guys...we used the no huddle a few times last year, caldwell wasnt here for that!!! now when we want to use it more yall say its because of caldwell? No they just put two and two together and real comfortable with joe...it seems like every year joe is able to take the next step, last season they gave joe the chance to audible if he didnt then thats on him...and i guess everything caldwell did last year or as a OC goes out the window huh? Caldwell sucked as a HC and a OC but you guys still say he is to blame? the guy lucked up on Manning but lets not forget that he didnt prepare Manning is whole career Manning was already a Vet when Caldwell started with him so you guys give caldwell too much credit, undeserve credit
Sure we used no huddle last year...a couple of times. Why only a couple of times and no more? Because Cam has to give up control when we no huddle. Can't micro manage when you no huddle, since there is plenty of time for Joe to change plays. Now all of a sudden, the no huddle is the thing. The offense is obviously totally on Joe. Hmm. That's weird, since it was NEVER like that before this year. I wonder what happened? What could have changed all of a sudden? Did Cam bump his head and grow a personality? Did he buy some football knowledge from E-Bay in the off season? Take some lessons from Madden? I don't know, but something sure smells different. Smells like victory.

It isn't about "hope" for some of us. Some of us have watched for four years as Cam screwed up our chances at a SB time and again. Some of us just know better than to drink the Cam-aid.

I know alot of fans the past few years wanted cam fired, but do u guys feel the same now? It is cam's playbook and i thought he prepared joe well for this season and with joe's success i think we should show cam some love too....
I thought the multiple reverse calls were hilarious, in that it seemed like it he was rubbing it in the faces of his "haters."

Showing that it wasn't his fault. It was execution. you realize those reverses ended in positive yardage, and even first downs... right? The problem in the past is, nobody respected the pass, and didn't think there was much of a threat through the air. And the execution obviously wasn't there, either.

Cam got out of Joe's way and did what many of us saw a long time ago: Joe is most effective out of shotgun, and needed to be utilized as such.

Congrats for catching up with the rest of us, Cam.

This. Ive never been a Cam hater, although he has had moments where i want to scream at him.

By taking a step back and giving Joe more control he became that much better as an OC.

PS. I loved the end arounds early. It forced the Bengals to hold back the aggressive play calls and allowed the Oline to get into a rhythm.

He called three end arounds on the second possession alone and what looked like a HB pass later on. Other than that, pretty good night. Just don't get too cute with the play calling.
he just kept going back to it over and over and over. smh!

For the most part, the play calling was good. Flacco had one bad audible for a run that got Rice absolutely buried at the line of scrimmage, and the two reverses in a row was just asking for something to happen.

Lets not forget, Cam is a former OCOY

Of course, he needed Brees, Tomlinson, Gates and a fortress of an OL to get it, but lets give credit where it is due

When Flacco is scorching you, stay with the hot hand...I'd rather have a 15 yard completion than a 6 yard run
Yeah we had a problem with doing that last year when Ricky Williams had the hot hand in the AFCCG.

Im glad we learned from that mistake
