Before I head off to bed, I was reminded of this by another thread and then remembered I had to share this with everyone.

A co-worker of mine, the Packer fan, he and I had a working lunch today so we headed to the local American Legion to grab some grilled chicken salads. While we were waiting for our food, the news was on in the background and they were showing the [s]high[/s]lowlights of the Colts game.

One of the other patrons made the comment to everyone at his table, and I quote:

"Unbelievable. I'm telling you right now, the Colts are going to be paying for this for the next three years. And in three years, we're going to have to find another new quarterback."

After one game! Already!

This should give you an idea of how spoiled they became while Manning was here. All I can do is laugh, quietly (cause they're bigger than me), and think to myself: "Wow, Indy got rid of the wrong guy!"

Feel free to comment, but I did have to share this with you.

~ Malk
BTW, the grilled chicken salads were excellent!

I'm looking forward to many years of mediocrity from them. I don't want them to be too terrible, and end up with a top 5 pick every year. But I'm hoping for 5 - 11 or 6 - 10. Not bad enough for a great draft pick, not even close to getting to the playoffs.

Was born and raised a Baltimore Colts fan. I wish nothing but failure for Indy!!!

Easy there, killer. You know who has to pay those freakin' taxes from the $2.8 Billion Indy lost last year on the Super Bowl.

I'll give you a hint, you're talking to him.

Not to mention, we're stuck paying for the maintenance costs for a stadium they can't fill. Oh it's horrible here.

What gets me, is they are trying to put another bid in for another Super Bowl.

Idiots.

I want to move to Arizona now!!!

I think Luck will be very good in the future, but Indy fans have a nasty habit of overreacting. Considering they have pretty much no running game and, outside of an old Reggie Wayne, nobody at receiver I think Luck played ok. Really besides RG3 none of the rookie qbs played well

First off, this ain't the Soviet Union, you could move if you wanted to. :D

Seriously, how the hell does a city lose money hosting a Super Bowl? I didn't think that was possible.....

I thought Indy should trade their pick for a collection of first rounders and give Manning the surroundings to take them to the postseason. But I guess not. I see what they were getting at with drafting Luck and really, how do you not pull the trigger on that? Luck will have a great career in the NFL, but right now his job is to not get himself killed. RGIII played what is likely the worst defense in the league, and maybe in history. They have a new (probably worse) DC and no HC in addition to already being one of the worst. Calling drafting Luck a mistake is a huge overreaction but I don't care. Screw Indy.

I know I can I move, but I'd like to take the wife and kids with me. The wife isn't ready to move yet while she still has family living here. That and the kids don't want to have to leave all their friends.

As for Indy losing money -- you'd be surprised what they can do when they put their minds to it.

I mean, the biggest attraction Indy had was a zipline... unless you count the 3-hour wait in line as an "attraction". Ooooo!!!

Also, I found it rather hilarious how there wasn't a single robbery, murder or other crime committed the entire time the Super Bowl crowd was here. Amazing!!!

But suddenly they were finding bodies "three weeks after the fact"... If I could show you how badly I'm rolling my eyes. Ridiculous.

They should get CSI: Indianapolis on that!

Maybe I should clarify. When I wish failure for Indy, I mean only the Colts. I certainly have no bad feeling for the city of Indianapolis.

As far as attractions....isn't there a rather big race there during Memorial Day weekend?

The Indy 500. ;) Yes, sir.

That actually draws a better paying crowd than the Super Bowl did. I think Indy just needed to have more available for tourists. I didn't even go downtown at all during that time because everywhere you wanted to go they were charging a cover charge just to get into the place. Screw that!

Although, one of my friends who lives up there, ran into Ryan Gosling at Starbucks. Got her picture taken with him.

And here I thought that Indy's night life was rivaled by only Vegas and New York City. :D

Furthermore, thread may get closed because of this, but the IPD (Indianapolis Police Dept.) are more crooked than some of the criminals they bust. And I'll leave it at that.

So, if CSI were to come in, we'd be left without a police force by the time they were done.

LOL!

Well, I will say this, if you're willing to make the drive from Indy to Broad Ripple... there are plenty of college girls down that way.

Matthew McConaughey siting!!!

But yeah, every weekend in Broad Ripple is like Mardi Gras, only for college students and young adults. I'm 30, way too old to be hanging out there.

Actually, this thread is getting closed because it is just "city smack" that has nothing to do with football AND these are "no smack" forums.
