Considering the Eagles were 1-4 at home against non-division opponents in 2011, I'd say it's not their strong point, either.
touche....I`ll be here win or lose after the game.Ian eat crow or give it.
Win or lose I won`t be surprised as the Eagles or any team for that matter can screw up on any given day.

We really have a lack in confidents amongst the Ravens fanbase, if so many us are actually taking the troll bait of one Eagles fan.
It will be an intense and fun game. Both teams are very talented on both sides of the ball and feel like they have something to proof.

Don`t take it so personal as I`m sure your just a fan as the rest of us and not employed by the Ravens organization.

Not too worried about the run. Bjge had our number in the afccg too. He's just a guy we have had a tough time with.

McCoy is definitely a better back but against the lowly browns run defense they barely used him even with 7 ypc. We dont have to stop McCoy, the eagles will do that for us.

I live in Philly and represent our ravens hard and trash te eagles whenever I get the chance. They looked awful but they're so up and down and unpredictable week to week you can't look past them. Who knows which team will show up for them
on the flip side, i think our team is past their up and down type of behavior that occurred last year after every big statement win.

That being said, I think we could still beat the Eagles on a regular basis even with Vick and co playing well. Our new offense will be exciting to watch, I hope they keep the aggressiveness up.

The only thing that has me worried about this game is their D line vs our Oline.

If I was an Eagles fan, Id be worried about our offense and Vicks protection.

Not trying to be pessimistic or an a-hole, but on what basis do you make that assumption? We have a tougher opponent than last year, so it'll be interesting to see our level of focus. I predict we will win but I won't go as far as to say that we are over that up-and-down behavior. That's yet to be seen

Look,I`m not here to talk sheet but,you need to take your purple shades off and realize the Eagles defense is better than last year and if you`d of watched the game the reason Richardson was stuffed was demeco Ryans reading his gaps reguarly and as far as the CBs well asante comprimised alot of what the pass rush did with his zone type play(hence why he was dealt for a 7th round pick)Our weak side LB was playing MLB last year and please don`t compare the Bengals D-line to the Eagles cause it clearly make you look ill equipped.(Cole/Cox/Jenkins/Babin)All of them would start on the Bungals.
With that being said if Reid pulls his head out don`t be surprised that not only will the Ravens not blow out the Eagles but, more than likely lose.
Take it week by week so both of our teams outtings last week mean zero come this week.
Your teams on the road(outside of your division)....not exactly your strong point.
Your team isn't too good against AFC playoff teams. Andy Reid is 2-14 all time against them with the Eagles. Not exactly your strong point.

"The reason Richardson was stuffed." Lol. He's a rookie who took no snaps in preseason. For all we know, he just sucks. Yes, Samuels was a problem for you guys (you probably should have bumped him to safety after deciding to keep him, he's awful in man), but you completely misused Nnamdi the entire season. Yes, your dline is better then the Bengals, but acting like theirs is a joke (or anyone off yours would start for them) is ridiculous of you.

I really don't get it. You're telling the only team to both make the playoffs and win at least one game in each of those postseason runs to cool their jets, while touting a team that missed the playoffs last year and just had a 4 INT 3 fumble game against the Cleveland Browns.

Again, you might pull out a win, but expecting it is seriously ludicrous. Anyway, I really am done now. Philly fans I guess.

Yea....good points. Hey, anything can happen. The last time we played the Iggles, Reid pulled his starting QB so I'm hoping that happens this time around too :P.

It sounds boring, but this game really will be won in the trenches. On Defense the Ravens need to stop Shady McCoy and pressure Vick who is prone to make costly mistakes. Maclin and Jackson have a lot of speed, but I think we match up pretty well in the secondary.

The Eagles have probably the best Dline in the league so the Ravens young and athletic Oline will have its work cut out. I anticipate a similar game plan as last week that will focus on the Eagles weaknesses (safety and LB). Boldin and Pitta will have to have big days over the middle with Torrey and Jacoby applying pressure over the top. If our line can keep Flacco relatively clean we should win.

Actually your statement is false as the Eagles won their their clast four games of the 2011 season and none of them were even close.
26-10(Dolphins)
45-19(Jets)
20-7(Cowboys)
34-10(Redskins)
Granted, none of them were play off teams but,a blow out is a blow out in the NFL.
Not that the preseason is signifigant score wise but, they went 4-0 and they although unimpressivly beat the Browns last week so in accualty they have`nt lost a game in quite some time.
Again I like their chances this weekend and I had a feeling they`d make the Browns look better than they would as the Eagles have a great tendancy to play down to teams below their level.
None of that makes a difference come this week but, this team can only go up and they`re the 3rd youngest team in the league.

Exactly, don't let the Eagles game vs the Browns fool ya. Eagles can be one of the most dangerous and explosive teams in the league when Vick is on. I think this will be a major test for our OLB's ( Kruger, Upshaw, Kindle, McCleelan ) with the bootleg PA waggles not knowing if Vick keeps it or not. Seeing how Green-Ellis carved us up ( Bengals O-line is pretty solid ), our OLB's is gonna have to improve on sealing the edge for us to do better in the run stopping department. I see Vick bouncing back from his terrible performance in Wk 1 but I still see us making life hard for him b/c Ed will be lurking for all the deep stuff so that will force Vick to throw underneath which isn't what he want to do and I can see us getting some picks.

It will be a tough environment. Its the Eagles homeopener so the fans should be fired up and loud. We'll have to see if that has an effect on our new no-huddle offense.
Eagles fans will be fired up, yes. But, I live in Eagles Country. I've seen the team's implosion firsthand -- the Eagles play worse at home than most teams.

Over the past two seasons, the Eagles are 7-9 at home (7-10 if you include a playoff loss). In 2011, they were 3-5 at home.

The minute the Eagles make their first mistake, their fans will boo them mercilessly. Even we fickle Ravens fans are more forgiving of mistakes.

I have to admit i never can figure out how most stats are scored in Football but the one that bugs me currently is how we are under dogs against Philly ? The only position they are stronger then us at as a group is Special Teams i believe. I know our O'line is far from Pro Bowl filled but Joe is not holding the ball that long these days. We have a set of great receivers and 2 very reliable Tight Ends. Not to mention Sugar Ray Rice.. LOL

On the D we have 2 Huge run stuffers in Cody and Ngata, A legendary safety in Reed. A heavy hitter in Pollard. Our only weak spots on D are the lack of a pass rush and very unpredictable corner (C Williams) but Webb can step in and take the ball away from any receiver. So how are we under dogs ?

Go Ravens !!
We love ya Art

I always wanted Harbs or Cam to allow Flacco to go full throttle. I hated the fact that once we got the lead we would coast in the final quarter.

The home team typically is a 3 point favorite just for playing on thier home field. Since the Eagles are favored by just 1, it is sort of saying we are 2 point favorites.

Jackson and Maclin did not practice today. Hamstring and hip respectively. I wouldnt look too much into it, but something to keep an eye on.

Maclin may not be playing. I think he's kind of 50-50 right now.

I think Torrey goes off for 100+ yards in this one and I think our secondary gets 2 INTs.

I think the Eagles underestimated the Brownies. Vick said himself he was trying to do too much too fast. I don't think that happens again unless we go up by 21 points...which is unlikely given how their offense can score. They have friggin speed everywhere you look. On the small side with Maclin-McCoy but those guys are quick and speed kills. Just gotta keep the ball out of their hands and watch for those quick slants--I don't think the eagles like those having watched Andy Reid air it out for 14 years but he may do so to get the ball in those guys hands.

Jackson is their deep guy and we all know what he can do but Vick needs time to get him the ball, Webb can handle Jackson but my worry is Williams. Pass rush will eliminate this.

Celek is their Heap/Pitta and is great at getting open but I think our speed at linebacker and especially Ray this season should contain him.

Our offense is a force to be reckoned with this season. Joe needs to be careful when forcing the ball because the Philly DB's lurk for picks and are quite good at picking them off. It isn't gonna be the Cinci DB's where I feel he got away with two.

With Ray Rice and Torrey- Boldin-Pitta/Dickson-Jacoby I really do not see us being contained :)

Anytime Nnamdi is back there, ya gotta be a little worried. I think it will be a close one.

Some of these posts about 34-13 Ravens , is just blind homerism. This is a quality football team we are playing, hence if we win, we will gain respect because they are an NFC favorite.

Vick holds onto the ball too long behind his shaky O-line. Deceptive defensive schemes are going to give him a lot of trouble. Count on another formulaic game for the Ravens as a whole - play smart in the first half, pile on the points in the 3rd, then send the defense hunting.

I heard this after the game but,is it true that Ed Reed has a bad hamstring?
If so that is not good with Desean Jacksons speed.
Say what you want but that kid can flat out fly!

Webb can shut down speed guys. I heard D Jax has a bad hammy as well and that Maclin is 50-50. Regardless you still need to be able to get the ball to them. I would also guess our defense is a little harder to read than the Browns.
