If Reid does`nt give McCoy 25 carries or more then I think its time Shady resorts to violence.

If Reid's serious about the 75% pass/run ratio you guys are going to get burned hard. I don't think I can overemphasize this. We are not the Browns.

Our run D wasn't too hot on Monday. If we can't stop McCoy and you can keep our offense off the field, you guys have a solid shot at winning, but I just don't see it happening. You're overmatched on both sides of the ball.

You do realize this is a RAVENS site, right? It's our place to be cocky and arrogant.
Not to say that we were being arrogant, but if we were, you'd think that it would make sense, right?

Wow. That didn't look like a celebratory poke.
You're not kidding.

You can see Nnamdi telling him off and Desean trying to hold him back.
If (and thats a BIG if)Reid lets Vick be a running QB along with a healthy dose of McCoy then the Eagles should roll offensively as the Ravens defense isn`t like the old Ravens defense and can be gouged by the run as I watched the Texans,Pats, and Bengals do it in the last three Ravens games.McCoy is by far better than any of those RBs(considering Foster was dinged up in that playoff game). The Bengals D-line is like night and day compared to the Eagles and if the Ravens O-line has any sort of Break down then Flacco will be hit/pressured or sacked often. The Eagles have big press CBs so just as McCoy is important to the Eagles so will Rice`s presence be. ;)

By the way that McCoy pop on Reid was after a TD and DeSean was just pulling his jersey back over his shoulder pad.. ;)

Not doubting you just going by what it looks like.

Regarding our 24th ranked run defense, I just want to say something. This isn't against you, but rather to those who say our defense will be bad this year without Suggs.

We may be ranked low regarding defense, a ranking which is abnormal for us. The thing is that while we are ranked low compared to those who are ranked higher, we played a very good team with a good OL, good RBs, and a capable QB. Their WRs are capable blockers and good in the run game. Look at other top-ranked teams and you will see that most of them played weak competition.

Another thing I want to point out is that some top-ranked defense are ranked that way because the offenses they faced just couldn't put up points (see Eagles).

One ranking where we remained ranked highly is in points allowed. That's a really important stat. I think it's one that is often overlooked.

I think our less than stellar run defense is attributed to a lot of things. I think Cody being out had an impact. The runner too often got through Kemoeatu from what I saw. The OLBs couldn't set the edge, either. Add in the fact that McPhee needs to work on his run defense and it's obvious why we got ran on by the Bengals, especially when you have a RB like BGE.
I see your point and as far as the Browns struggling on offense(what did their coaching staff expect)running a rookie QB against the Eagles defense. The Eagles defense was already good and this year I have no doubt they have the leagues best D-line!
Not too mention how deep they are at all areas(they`ll come in droves)
The Ravens no huddle offense will definitely need to be used this week at nausem to keep Flacco out of harms way.

The last 3 Super Bowl winners played the Philadelphia Eagles in their home opener.

Guess who plays them this season in their home opener?

They beat them in their home opener. Also, the team to beat the Falcons in the playoffs the past 3 years has won the SB. I'm calling Ravens Falcons SB.

Depends on which Philly team shows up. I'm not worried about Vick or their pass game, we'll contain that fairly easily...but their pass rush is fierce when its on, and combined with that secondary, they can be brutal against the pass.
And of course, McCoy will have to be priority 1a and 1b. He's what worries me most

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Kind of done.

McCoy isn't "by far better" then Foster, dinged up or not. Especially since your team doesn't seem to want to give him the ball.

The Eagles dline isn't "night and day" compared to the Bengals. Geno Atkins is one of the best DTs in football after Ngata and Justin Smith. Carlos Dunlap is also a monster (even though he didn't play). You're also going to be hard-pressed to generate pressure if we stick with the no-huddle and run play-action. The Ravens ran no-huddle on something like 36% of the plays on Monday. It doesn't matter if you break into the backfield if the ball is gone. Either that, or you won't respect the run game. You just don't have the personnel to stop both.

Your "big press corners" were horribly misused last year, and aren't going to help you defend the middle of the field against Rice, Boldin, or our Tight Ends even if they ARE used correctly. Ray Rice is also a whole different beast from Trent Richardson. He's not a rookie who got 0 snaps in preseason, he's an All-Pro.

That being said, I've already admitted that our run defense looked shaky and that should, in theory, be your plan of attack. Your coach, once again, is indicating the exact OPPOSITE. We're not going to give you four free turnovers, and our secondary is a whole lot better then the Browns. Your O-line looked far shakier then ours did.

I'm not saying a win is impossible for you guys. Its not, but don't come in here and pretend your'e going to walk all over us. Its almost insulting. You were abysmal last year, and struggled tremendously against what might be the worst team in the NFL last week.

The Ravens looked real good tonight(especially 2nd half),so congrats.

I know the Eagles(soley Vick)looked horrible last week ans I hope Reid realizes that when your QBs rusty and having a bad day that you don`t drop him back to pass 63 times(especially when your leading the whole damn game).
Instead you give the ball to McCoy at nausem.
500 yds(Eagles)200 yds(Browns)
Granted Weeden/Richardson are rookies and it showed but,the Eagles defence had a lot to do with that.
D. Ryans and Kendricks will be a big difference in why the Eagles don`t get gashed up the middle unlike last year.
Ravens coming off an emotional night and a short week to a hostile enviroment against a good team look to show the fans what they are expected to do spells disaster for a good Ravens team
Eagles 27
Ravens 24
Anyways heres to a good game and no injuries

Not too worry the following week the Eagles are at AZ and they`ll find a way to play down to the level of their competition and probably lose.
We seem to have that same problem (playing up and down to the competition).
But rest assured, we know that Philly is very dangerous and we will NOT see a repeat of last week from your team, so be ready for a war! Will be an exciting game, win or lose
Look,I`m not here to talk sheet but,you need to take your purple shades off and realize the Eagles defense is better than last year and if you`d of watched the game the reason Richardson was stuffed was demeco Ryans reading his gaps reguarly and as far as the CBs well asante comprimised alot of what the pass rush did with his zone type play(hence why he was dealt for a 7th round pick)Our weak side LB was playing MLB last year and please don`t compare the Bengals D-line to the Eagles cause it clearly make you look ill equipped.(Cole/Cox/Jenkins/Babin)All of them would start on the Bungals.
With that being said if Reid pulls his head out don`t be surprised that not only will the Ravens not blow out the Eagles but, more than likely lose.
Take it week by week so both of our teams outtings last week mean zero come this week.
Your teams on the road(outside of your division)....not exactly your strong point.

Considering the Eagles were 1-4 at home against non-division opponents in 2011, I'd say it's not their strong point, either.
