Actually your statement is false as the Eagles won their their clast four games of the 2011 season and none of them were even close.
26-10(Dolphins)
45-19(Jets)
20-7(Cowboys)
34-10(Redskins)
Granted, none of them were play off teams but,a blow out is a blow out in the NFL.
Not that the preseason is signifigant score wise but, they went 4-0 and they although unimpressivly beat the Browns last week so in accualty they have`nt lost a game in quite some time.
Again I like their chances this weekend and I had a feeling they`d make the Browns look better than they would as the Eagles have a great tendancy to play down to teams below their level.
None of that makes a difference come this week but, this team can only go up and they`re the 3rd youngest team in the league.
I fail to see anything there that screams "good team". Great, you beat some teams late in the year, winning the last 4 against weak teams to get to .500. And pointing to preseason wins isn't going to convince anyone around here. Look, I'm not saying they are scrubs, but they have been irrelevant for over a year. Hype doesn't constitute reality, and you know darned right well that they were the next coming of you-know-who at the start of last season. Not buying it.

I see the Eagles winning a tough game this week and then lay that egg @ AZ the following week.
Granted the Card are`nt a contender but,we`ll make them look like one... :bitenails:

What makes you think the eagles are going to win this game? The ravens offense cannot be stopped right now. You can go ahead and drop back in coverage to play the pass and Flacco will just dump it off to Rice. You want to stop the run than we'll be more than happy to pass the ball. I think this game we are going to give Ray more carries and take shots down field with the play action. Plus if you put the ravens defense on the field with a lead they'll create turnovers...

awfully cocky after just one week of play. Remember we trounced the Steelers last year only to lay an egg on the road in Tenn. We are going to have our hands full this week and I just hope we can bring it home to M&T bank 2-0 to face the Patriots. The eagles have more speed on the field than the Bengals and some great runners out of the backfield which did some serious damage to our defense last night. I desperately want us to win on Sunday, but I don't see this as anywhere near as clean cut as you seem to think.

All they talk about is how big he is and that Ben Roethlisberger is good and has size so that means Foles will be good too. It's quite laughable. I'll take our monster of a QB any day of the week!

Oh yea.. Heard that stuff all day everyday..

Don't be surprised if the Eagles give us a very good game. With their talent they are capable of beating any team in the league. But with their issues they are also capable of losing to any team. If they play a smarter game they're gonna be tough, very tough.

The bengals d line is much better than the eagles and our guys did a pretty good job..i see us running the ball very well this game. i say rice gets over 100 yards

Confident we beat the Eagles. They all hype and haven't proven themselves as even a same tier team as the Ravens. Joe Flacco ain't Brandon Weeden.. Ravens win by 7+. Philly fans eat cheese steaks and watch Rocky movies in mourning for a week.

False, we won at the Rams. But I get your point.

You're right, I guess I just figured we were 0-4 against teams that actually played football.

I highly disagree. Cincy has a talented d-line but their best edge rusher (Dunlap) was missing. Without him, their only other consistent threat is Atkins.

Philly has two edge rushers with recent 10+ sack campaigns under their belt in Cole and Babin. And Hunt, Tapp and Curry are all explosive backups. Inside, DTs Jenkins and Landri can both get after the QB. As can Fletcher Cox (12th overall pick in April). Their d-line is loaded.

This game makes me nervous. I've been nervous all off season. I have a bad feeling about this game but I hope my feeling is wrong. The Eagles are a good team and can beat us if they are organized, and I believe they will be. I expect the Eagles pass rushers to be ready to play us this week unlike the Browns, whom I believe they underestimated.

As for the match-up of Vick vs. our defense, I like it. People forget Vick taught Taylor. That's Tyrod's mentor. I see Tyrod being used in practice this week, possibly even Dixon. At the very least the Ravens defense knows hybrid QBs like Vick, so if he tries to scramble he has a good chance of getting hurt by #31.

I like our chances in this game despite this uneasy feeling I have. Webb can shut down Jackson. I believe Williams and Smith are good enough to hang with their other WRs. As for Celek, I believe Pollard will be responsible for him along with Lewis. Lewis and Pollard I believe will need to ensure McCoy & Celek are contained. If we can do that, we can get to Vick and get the sacks.

I see Vick getting hurt in this game. I really do. I am not wishing that on him, but I have a feeling he gets a concussion.

I think we'll take this easy. Flacco will put up points to make up for McCoy getting yards from our D, and we'll keep Vick contained.

In other news, as much as I loathe aggressive moderation, I'd just like to thank the team of mods who keep the site clean. I just took a look at a thread started on the Eagles forum (I'd also like to add that the website as a whole is of lesser quality when compared to ours), and Jesus [profanity deleted] Christ, that place is a cesspool. A thread that began talking about the game Sunday devolved into pathetically brutal mocking of the OP (to the point where I'd recommend not taking a look at it) with nary a mod comment or an edit to be found.

I think if we do lose, I hope to God our offense at least looks good.

I don't want to give Stephen A Smith, Bayless, Wyche, some guys on the NFL.com panel - the satisfaction of a bad Flacco performance.

Steven A believes flacco, he just said he wants to see consistancy,,,which no lie, he has a point. thats where flacco has always been struggling...being consistent

Anything less than flacco throwing for 350 yards and 4 tds in the superbowl, bayless is never going to give him credit. I used to love skip but i really cant stand him anymore

I would add guys like Dameshek (NFL.com) and Matt Williamson (ESPN.com) - who are just Steeler homers. If you have a platform like that, learn to at least be objective.

Worse for "M-Dub" who was a scout/player personnel guy, who you'd think would know just how to do that.

Eagles are one of those average teams that are seroiusly dangerous. They have so much talent it's not even funny.

I see another high scoring game, but I don't see the Ravens scoring 44 points against the Eagles.

Ravens 41
Eagles 24
I see us scoring about 30 and maybe holding them to around 20 depending on the game plan. I think we feed the beast this time against that wide 9 to test the lbs. Need quick patterns to slow down the rush and tire out their line though I think our tackles can slow down their ends. We will need to work the middle of the field and I honestly would prefer we attack away from DRC. I was one calling for us to get Nnamdi and sure am happy we didn't cause I see us being able to expose him(though he probably would have been better in our system). I see us getting at least 2 turnovers with us maybe coughing it up once. If the team stays the course I might be right about my prediction of the team not losing a game til around week 11.

Lol, that's just as high! This should be a very interesting game. The Eagles have pieces in place to score a lot of point but hopefully not against our defense. I am waiting to hear if there is a concern about Ed Reeds hamstring. Lets hope he is OK and able to play.

Oh no!!! People have "feelings" (Que Morris Albert) about this game. We're doomed! We're all doomed!! How about you guys give me some feeling about the lottery numbers? Yeah these guys could beat us. My grandson's peewee league could beat us. Anything could happen. The likelihood is they will not beat us, because they are an over-rated team with an over-rated QB in an over-rated division.

34 - 13 Ravens

Score - 27-24 ravens
i don't see us being able to run all over them so like yesterday, it will depend on the arm of our hot QB. the 2 TE's should get the most targets this game. we will need that quick passing game because cole and babin are dangerous. catching them off guard with reverses and hb throws like we used yesterday will be a lot more important this game as well. as for our defense, we will certainly need that run D this week because their passing experiment didn't go well and i see them overreacting to it and running mccoy A LOT against us. i believe pees will find a way. best thing for our young guys on D, just get that experience. Upshaw will be key.

not all familiar with eagles outside their front 7: who is better right now DRC or Nmadi?

We need to update depth charts.
As a Madden player I'm already cringing at how awful our line is going to be in the game when we have a rookie and somebody who is practically a rookie replacing players with mid 80's ratings lol

However, I'm wiling to sacrifice in my game if it means they'll continue to hold up as well as they did last night!

Safety. He was only drafted last year and he's already cut. That doesn't sound too good. If he could make it to the PS fine, but not the 53.
