Wellll, the last time we faced the Eagles Ed made history with that 108 yd INT return.

You can thank Kevin Kolb for that garbage.

Here a pick. There a pick. Everywhere a Vick pick :D
By the 3rd interception, a pick six mind you, my friend the Eagles fan was chanting NICK NOT VICK! NICK NOT VICK!

I was amused.

Maybe it will come true though. Last time around we got Reid to bench McNabb for Kolb

Based off the play of the Eagles and Ravens, we shouldn't suffer a week 2 let down like we did last year against the Titans. Considering the Browns defense only allowed the Eagles to score 17 points and we allowed only 13 points, and our offense compared to theirs, I think we could have another dominant win.
Yeah. Our defense is better than Cleveland! And how about Joe Haden? :th_shemademe-2:

I'm hoping the Ravens' D learns from BJGE. If we do lose, it'll probably because of a McCoy massacre. Not to concerned with the Eagles' receiving corps.
I did, many times. I was in college at a school in Philly for that game and was BEYOND obnoxious after Ed's pick.

I know how bad Brandon Weeden and T-rich are.

But getting 4picks , 0 TD for weeden & containing T-rich to a sub 25 yard is a accomplisment.

We can whoop Eagles hard. But we need to keep the train moving. Once you go Jaguars/Seattle, things gets back into a muddle all over again giving steelers/bengals a chance to top us.

they are anything but one-dimensional. And as excited as I am about our huge win today, the fact we gave up 91 yds rushing to BJGE does not bode well for us facing LeSean McCoy.

I'm really pleased with the play of our secondary though. We held AJ Green in check; Eagles don't have anyone like that. Plus Maclin has a hip pointer injury that could end up being problematic for him next week. I'm not worried about DeSean Jackson. Add the fact that Andy Reid's gameplan is to turn Vick into a pocket passer rather than use his God-given talents, and I like our chances.

End of the day, we have to stop McCoy to be successful
Not too worried about the run. Bjge had our number in the afccg too. He's just a guy we have had a tough time with.

McCoy is definitely a better back but against the lowly browns run defense they barely used him even with 7 ypc. We dont have to stop McCoy, the eagles will do that for us.

I live in Philly and represent our ravens hard and trash te eagles whenever I get the chance. They looked awful but they're so up and down and unpredictable week to week you can't look past them. Who knows which team will show up for them

Now we really need to get back to earth, no week 2 a.k.a Tennessee game.
Exactly what I was thinking. I expect more touches for Ray Rice than tonight.

I browsed their forums right after the game ended and they already had a "Ravens gonna kick the crap out of us" thread. :plus-un2:
Saw his comment and decided to check their board and came across this. " Time of possession is gonna be critical, we're gonna have to keep the Ravens offense on the sidelines to have a chance".

I NEVER thought I would ever see people afraid of our offense.

Two things which worry me:

1) Which Eagles will turn up? Will we get the one today who barely won against a Browns team, who if Weeden played even like half a Quarterback, would've probably won. Or the Eagles that can run and pass with Shady, that is dangerous with an unconstrained Vick looking to Jackson, Maclin, and Celek.

2) Tennesse, Jacksonville, NYJ (even though we won, but played poorly on offense) are all part of our history when it comes to losing and/or looking terrible.

After the Bengals game, I have more confidence, I just hope Joe can show it against those Eagles corners.

The Ravens looked real good tonight(especially 2nd half),so congrats.

I know the Eagles(soley Vick)looked horrible last week ans I hope Reid realizes that when your QBs rusty and having a bad day that you don`t drop him back to pass 63 times(especially when your leading the whole damn game).
Instead you give the ball to McCoy at nausem.
500 yds(Eagles)200 yds(Browns)
Granted Weeden/Richardson are rookies and it showed but,the Eagles defence had a lot to do with that.
D. Ryans and Kendricks will be a big difference in why the Eagles don`t get gashed up the middle unlike last year.
Ravens coming off an emotional night and a short week to a hostile enviroment against a good team look to show the fans what they are expected to do spells disaster for a good Ravens team
Eagles 27
Ravens 24
Anyways heres to a good game and no injuries

Not too worry the following week the Eagles are at AZ and they`ll find a way to play down to the level of their competition and probably lose.

I don't think their is a more faster, aggressive, physical defense we will play this year. I think maybe the texans, but the eagles pass rush is as good as it gets, and they have a big play offense. They have corners that can cover as well. This game I have a bad feeling about. It is also their home opener. I knew we would beat the bengals, but not as bad as we did. I believe we will drop a game between the eagles or patriots, hopefully its the eagles because they are a nfc opponent.

The thought of shady against our run D from last night is scary. The Eagles are obviously better than the Browns game. Because really it was Vick that played horribly. They did go against the Browns offense but the eagles defense should be more difficult than the Bengals. They have the talent of a top D. We dont have the familarity of playing them and home field gives them an edge. This will be a big test IMO. Not because of the Eagles hype but because of the match up.

You know what would be real funny? If Reed got another pick six lol
Of course who can forget that 108 yarder pick 6 back in what '08?

But in all seriousness this is the first of 4 tough teams in the NFC East. This should be another good game to watch. Eagles looking to prove that they don't play poorly, Ravens looking to maintain a hot streak. Thankfully we have Tyrod Taylor that can at least mimic (in some fashion) Vick for practices. So we have that to our advantage.

We were not very good on the road last season and Phily has a great home field advantage. It's going to be a tough test against a team, that is really good on both sides of the ball. I know Vick and is team stunk it up against the Browns, but I am not counting them out after just one game.

-the bengals had a better d than the eagles last year and they lost asante samual

-ravens match up very well against their passing O. Vick cant throw and their recievers arent big. Ravens are really bad against big WRs

-the ravens dont play the short dink and dunk passing game well at all the eagles are the opposite

How are people saying "they are good" "I am afraid of this game". Maybe on paper the Eagles are good, but this was the team that went a big 8 and 8 last year. In the NFC. They couldn't do better than 8-8 in the JV conference. The Browns almost torched them. The Browns! Yes, we can throw names around , they have this guy and that guy and he is good etc etc, but for all that....8-8 and the Browns. And we just mercilessly beat a team that had the 10th ranked defense last year and went to the playoffs. Nuff said.

They were almost identical in rankings last year. The Eagles defense have an added year of their additions to gel. The Eagles corners can cause more problems than the Bengals. They also might have a tougher pass rush since Dunlap didn't play for Cinci.

No the passing game isn't a match up concern but if we can't stop Shady passing the ball becomes easier. Vick might not be the best thrower but can't throw is a stretch.

I don't know all of what the Eagles do offensively but they do use Shady in the open field. So there is some dinking involved.

Pollard, on a legal play, will put Vick out of the game. Again, not intentionally, but just on a solid, hard hit, he'll make something go in another direction!

Honestly, I don't think I have ever seen a sadder performance in a winning effort by a favorite, than what the Eagles did on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

Where exactly did that explosive, way too fast, unstoppable offense go? You know, the one that the "media" hyped-up, once again, this preseason. Oh, wait...
That's exacly all it is.. HYPE. I just don't know when Andy Reid is going to wake up and realize that Michael Vick is..well..just not a good quarterback. Certainly not good enough. The guy was paid the big bucks in ATL because he could run around like a lunatic. He winds up in philly, had ONE good half of a season in 2010 and hasn't done squat since. He's not accurate, he doesn't have a big arm, he makes catastrophic decisions, can't slide, and he can't read a defense.

Well, he couldn't read CLEVELAND's defense, which should be telling. The Ravens are going to give him so many different looks that his head will be spinning.

On offense, it will be KO's first big test as a pro as he'll be going up against Jason Babin. Babin is one hell of a pass rusher, but that's about all he can do. I still don't think Philly's LB corps is all that great, and they are way below average at safety (well compared to what we've got here)

The question will be, will Andy Reid be willing to run Shady enough to atleast make him relevant, and they have some problems up front on the Oline as well. I think if Ngata can get into Vick's face and force him to run around, he'll start making the foolish passes again and give the Ravens a few points.

This will be a test for the offensive line and our secondary. I think we might go with out strength more this game and get the ball in Rice's hands more. Those guys can rush the passer, but they are suspect when it comes to stuffing the run. We're gonna need a great game from the offensive line and secondary. This game could be trouble for us.

My roommate is an Eagles fan too, so there will be some tension this week.

Sounds like wishful thinking to me.
I wouldn't expect you to know, but the Ravens have thrived in hostile environments. The nastier, the better. And Coach H. returning to Philly will provide for an additional rallying point.

May the best team win and there be no injuries.
