They better pay him now because they wont be able to afford him later.

my sentiment exactly.
Honestly, as much as I would love to agree with these sentiments -- I don't see Joe going anywhere. Now, I'm not Joe, but if I were I would look at this offense the Ravens have put together for me and realize that I'd be willing to take a little less pay to continue playing with a championship caliber team.

The Ravens will get him his money.

But I am a bit puzzled though... If the Ravens knew they were trending in this direction, with Rice's touches getting knocked back -- then why the extravagant contract? I'm not saying he didn't deserve it, cause he is a work horse. Even with 10 touches, he made them all count.

I don't know. I'm rambling now, aren't I?

Yeah, I remember that! He went as far as saying that it wasn't Cam's fault and that the players needed to execute. GIVE ME A BREAK.
I actually had a twitter argument with him last season. No clue why I wasted my time lol but I sent him the podcast of Cosell & Tucker talking about our offense and he told me they were wrong. He's just an idiot.

I would come to his defense by saying that pretty much no one acknowledged that, but I dislike him too passionately.

True it was Ravens fans against everyone else when it came to that lol

That's because the talking heads don't know football, or at least they're not allowed to talk about it. They get paid to say things like "Philip Rivers needs to be Philip Rivers." Expecting them to acknowledge the underlying facts or actually analyze the bloody game is a bit foolish.

I've never seen Joe take so much control from the line of scrimmage. Basically telling Cameron that he is in charge of this offense. I would say every 3 out of 4 plays that Joe made changes, he was money. Much credit has to go to Jim Caldwell as he provides Joe with a TRUE quarterbacks coach to teach him how to read a defense. If this offense can play at this level week 3 against New England, we might have a different outcome than in the AFCCG

Cam will get another H.C. job if Flacco keeps this up.

Ray Rice was still a threat and that's what helped our passing offense. It was a huge day for the play-action. Plus Rice did get yards on the ground and an important 4th down catch. Well worth the money. Luckily we gave him a frontloaded contract - so we won't be overpaying for an older RB in the future.
yeah, I think they'll get him paid too. I just don't want any ill will brewing. I wish they'd do it now rather than after this season because I'm positive his price tag will get more expensive. Ed Reed is also looking for a new contract after this season...

Wow - what a performance. I don't want to get carried away, because we started similarly last year. But tbh, while we put up 30+ against Pitt in the opnener last year, it wasn't due to the fact that Joe was taking control of the offense.

This time, it looks different. I'll hold my breath until he does this for about a month. But I am freaking excited! :D

Also, on another note, did some other QBs shine this week too? I'm talking about guys like Gabbert and Ponider looking much better (Gabbert actually didn't look like a poor man's Kyle Boller this time!) and even the Sanchez stood up.

I wouldn't worry too much about Ed for a couple of reasons:
1.) If the Ravens win the Super Bowl, I feel he's done any way. Go out on a high note.
2.) If the Ravens don't win the Super Bowl, then he'll probably look to get a deal like Lewis on a year-by-year basis.

Congrats to Ed tonight on getting the All-Time Int Return Yds record!!! A long time coming!
I know he's been up and down but he's made it somewhat clear he sees himself playing another 5 years. If you see yourself having 5 more years in the tank you don't retire and cut short a half decade of playing ball. I strongly believe Ed would stick around if we won it all. He's not as old as people think... 33 isn't that old for a free safety.
Not hard when you have Julio, Roddy and Tony. Not to say Torrey and Q, Pitta and Ed are scrubs, but different league and skill sets to those in ATL.

Still, a lot of good games by the QBs this week (apart from some of the rookies - obviously - and some vets).

I think you mean it's not hard when you're playing against a terrible secondary who lost their best corner during the off-season.

Feeling great about the passing game! Smith's a speed demon, Boldin runs great routes and we've got an exciting pair of young TEs.

Flacco looked as good as he's ever looked tonight. He's getting a lot of praise on ESPN and stuff, but for him it's always been about consistency. Let's see how he does in the weeks to come, but I do think Flacco will shine in the no huddle offense more than ever.

The one Ray batted I think was out of bounds but he did let one slip earlier in the first quarter. Don't worry he will make up for it against Vick and Weeden.
