Harewood Startting at LG tonight

96 posts in this topic

Unlike last year, there has been a full offseason to evaluate all the personnel on the roster. If they think Harewood in at LG is the best fit right now, I'm fine with it.

This could be great news if Williams is healthy, because it would mean not only do they trust Harewood (he's looked good in preseason), but we're planning on keeping our offense on the field for long drives. I don't trust Williams myself.

So McKinnie AND Williams out of the starting lineup? Interesting...

At least now John Clayton has to stop pointing out how old our starting o-line is.

Suddenly we have one of the youngest lines in the league. Now they'll say we're "too inexperienced".

whoa whoa whoa holy crap!!! This came out of the blue. Concerning and surprising, but it could be a good thing. If he plays well at LG we may have a long term solution there.

I thought Harewood was injured?

I don't know man, I still think we need McKinnie at LT, but that is another topic. I say Williams or KO at LG. This Harewood thing is really out of the blue

Now if the team would just leave him there for more than a season, he would improve significantly instead of all the flip-flopping and having to re-adjust to the other side...

I agree completely. Stop moving the kid around for crying out loud. While he had his flaws he really was not the horrendous LT that some try to paint him. I give him credit for not griping about being moved all the time.

Talk about makeshift and patchwork. Something tells me this formation won't last long. Let's see what Ramon has got, but add in the fact that Oher is LT and not McKinnie, let's just say I'm glad Dunlap is out.

This needs to stop in general, not just Oher. We keep moving everyone around, didn't KO play Guard for most of training camp and then all of a sudden he is a RT? Oher has flip flopped so much I lost count, Yanda and Birk have been the only two consistent players to not been switched. Yanda has played RT but only when there were injuries, but for the most part he has stayed at RG. I'm willing to give Harewood a chance at LG, I mean who knows he may do a fabulous job and him and Oher may make the left side stronger.

Hmm I dont recall ever hearing that Harewood was taking reps at guard in training camp or the preseason... we'll see if this turns out to be true.

KO played RT for most of training camp. I think you are blowing this way out of proportion. Harbaugh has said all along they will put the best 5 guys out there so this is the manifiestation of that.

He played that position against the Rams starting offense for a few series.
