Week 1 Discussion (Other Games)

I'll quote someone else in saying those games were like twilight zones. We had Dallas beating the G-Men, the Saints losing to WASH, the Steelers losing to Denver, the Jets blowing out Buffalo, like 3 40-point plus games, but 33 total interceptions.
I feel a change in the winds.

I think it's just Week 1 weirdness. Every year some teams are more "ready" than others for the first game. After they see where the weaknesses lie, they tighten it up for the next week.

This may be jumping the gun on my part but I think Pittsburgh looked bad. I think the Broncos are a good team, not a great team and Pittsburgh has serious problems. Throwing 40 times in a game that close! Shows you can't run the ball which you have to be able to do to win consistently. Their defense did nothing spectacular but nothing real bad at the same time. Looked very average one could say. The three consecutive sacks to end the game are a serious concern. Big Ben gets up from his hits like no other qb in the league but eventually if you get hit too much it will take its toll. Last year it finally caught up with them with he got hurt against the Browns. Have to wait and see what the Ravens and Bengals look like tonight but I am hopeful. First thing you need to do is win your division. Then worry about the playoff seedings. Here's hoping.

"Griffin is the first quarterback born in the 1990s to start an NFL game."

Wow...the 90's? Really????
To be exact he was born Feb 12th, 1990. Next year in 2013, Matt Barkley will be the second quarterback to start who was born in the 90's as he was born September 8th, 1990.

It's looking like the Falcons should win the NFC South. Their offense is meshing quite well and the Saints, particularly their D, is pretty disheveled.

Pitts defense looked old and slow. Their o-line may even look worse...
49ers defense looked great. Rodgers kinda looked shaky...
RG3 looked fantastic, that game showed why losing Sean Payton was so important...
Buccs look much improved, all around. Martins a beast, and this might be one of the most competitive divisions this year...
Gotta give Sanchez credit, he looked great I though Bills would dominate, but instead Jets D did...
Vick looked horrible, got lucky win. Weeden looked horrible, Browns D looked pretty good...
Julio Jones looks scary, so do the Falcons. Chiefs really surprised me, I still think they bounce back...
Patriots looked nice, o-line is really shaky though. Chris Johnson looked horrible once again overrated...
Luck got a hard start to the NFL, he'll bounce back though. D. Brown also looked good. Bears D looked really good though...

Can't wait for tonight!!
I really think Peyton is on point though. I think that conference will be between the Broncos and Chargers, but it's so early to tell.
Trust me, AFCW has Broncos and Chargers written all over it. Anyone buying into Chiefs being a contender are kidding themselves. :229031_rofl:
Also, Peyton Manning and the Broncos offense looked incredibly sharp. Manning just played lights out, amazing. Sick. Dare I say, a Broncos-Patriots AFC championship game. Manning will shred the Patriots secondary and the Broncos will be in the Superbowl.

You know it!

As a token of my gratitude, I give you Billy "Whiteshoes" by Von Miller..

Rams lost C Scott Wells to a fractured foot for the season. They gave Wells $24 million to come play for for them instead of re-signing in Green Bay.

Also Browns CB Joe Haden will officially begin his 4 game suspension the next four weeks.

They put Wells on the special IR thing for him to hopefully come back.

Same here, I just really don't care either. That's not because the Ravens won but I just don't care lol. To be honest, I'm ready for the Bears-Packers game to get here on Thursday Night.

I must say, this is an UGLY game. The Raiders are making mistake after mistake, and SD isn't taking advantage.
All they are getting is Field Goals. It's now 19 to 6. I don't know how Norv still has a job and honestly if I was a Chargers fan I be hoping to lose so they fire Norv and AJ Smith.

EDIT: Another FG, I'm kinda rooting for Oakland to make a comeback lol.

Wow. The back-up snapper, # 50, messed up 3 times, all leading to Kaeding losing the ball. Looks like there's gonna be someone cut tomorrow morning.

This is just pathetic by San Diego. I feel like I'm watching Eagles-Browns all over again.

Another FG, Chargers lead 22 to 6. If Oakland can muster anything they can somehow win this game.

If only Oakland kept them from the last FG, it would only be a 5 point game right now. Oakland battling back.

SD 22
OAK 14

Oakland uses it's last timeout at 46 seconds, and will get the ball back it seems.
