Ravens At Texans

I wanted to touch on this (I know we had something like this started up in Week 2 before the game was rescheduled) and see what everyone thought the key match-ups in the this game will be.

Key Match-Ups:

Gaither vs. M. Williams:
This was one of the big match-ups before the original game as it was going to be the first big test for Gaither this year. It will still be a big match-up, but I feel more confident with Gaither facing Williams now that he's faced some other tough Pass Rushers (like Dwight Freeny), but he's also faced Williams before so this should be a good battle on the left side of the offensive line.

Rolle (hopefully) vs. A. Johnson:
If Rolle is back then he will be facing Johnson alot on this game and I would expect him to be key in trying to keep Rosenfels from hooking up with the Texans' biggest offensive weapon. I still expect Johnson to get some chunks out of our secondary, but if we can limit him and the impact he has on the game then I'd say we'd do well against them. This match-up will also be impacted by the next one on the list.

Suggs/Ngata and Pass Rush vs. S. Rosenfels:
We know that Rosenfels can make mistakes and give up the ball a few times, if we can get pressure on him by forcing him to throw more (and we know that with our defense taking away the run that

Here is what I am worried about in this game:

1) Andre Johnson- obviously, the guy is a great receiver who is not talked about a lot because he isn't flashy or mouthy. He gets the job done. I hope that we get physical with him, but we better have deep help against him. I can't believe Oglesby was covering Edwards on that dropped pass- that can't happen here.

2) Pass Rush on Sage Rosenfels- Sage has played pretty decent this year when filling in for Schaub. I believe a couple years ago we played him when he was on Miami and he played way better than anyone gave him credit for. We need to get a constant pass rush on him. If you notice, we constantly rush guys but we don't get a consistent pass rush on QB's, something I would like to see improve. I think Pryce can help this out by playing a little more aggressively and taking some double teams off of Suggs.

3) Steve Slaton- I know we haven't allowed a 100-yard rusher in 27 games, but these quick, explosive backs worry me. We shut Chris Johnson down, but you still worry that if these type of RB's get that one big run it will hurt.

I don't think we should ever overlook anyone, but I have some confidence after seeing our defense shut down Chris Johnson, IMO he's a more dangerous back than Slaton so I don't think we should have trouble keeping him in check on the ground. The only thing I'm worried about with him would be the little screens and dump-off passes that have seemed to give us some trouble in the past.

I dont know about rolle covering johnson... I think well need someone more aggressive to cover him.. Maybe even a little bit of double coverage from the Safeties... This guy plays like randy moss so def need double him up... Steve slaton is quick but once again i think our D line wins this... I am worried about the D-line vs our offense... Mario williams is good and fast.. We had issue with the colts d line because they were alot faster than ours.. But times have changed and our offense has gotten better which leads me to think that we can still get the screen game going... If landry is back then i think we could possible quiet mr johnson to a bad game....
