Gosh I hope so, for everything he has done he deserves to see Baltimore win one more Lombardi Trophy. In fact if this is true, I would not be surprised if the Ravens come out and dedicate Monday's game to Art or the season if the condition does in fact worsen.

I'm going to keep him in my prayers until he is out of the hospital.

I hope, we don't get to hear any silly and corny "let's do this for Art"-proclamations like in Philly, a team that makes them every 5 minutes it seems. Lets handle this with some dignity and leave it a family matter.

On the Browns hate towards Modell: I guess I get it, since it's similar to the Colts situation, eventhough they were allowed to keep their name and tradition and got a team back much faster, so there is a reason to hate him from their perspective, but you don't outright wish ill upon him. Lets hope they atleast stay classy, after he passed away.

I hate some people so much. Death is not funny.
RIP ART...

Rest in peace Art.

Maybe we could pay tribute to him on our uniforms like the Pats did when Krafts wife past away.
I'm sure that's being worked on for ALL NFL teams, not just us. Perhaps a moment of silence in 14 stadiums this weekened (not counting the Giants who already played and you-know-who...)?

I had the privelage of meating him when the Chicago Bears played the Baltimore Ravens back in 2009. Art was such a nice man.
Mr. Modell, we will never forget what you did for the city of Baltimore. All of us owe you a team.
Let's win this one for Art!

I had to stop reading those comments on ESPN...they were beyond disgusting! I know people have a right to their opinion, but that type of commentary is unjustified in light of the grave situation facing the Modell family. I am even more repulsed at ESPN's shamelessness in allowing it to go unfiltered. Is the anonimity of the internet completely void of basic human decency?

I can still understand some of the anger cleveland fans have but , the man passed away. We have all done shameful things in our life , thats why I dont go on nfl blogs or on the comment boards at ESPN most people forget that key fact we have all failed at some point or made alot of people unhappy with us , and how would we want to be seen . Art was a decent guy for the most part , he did well by us to pick a Fan to be an Owner when he sold the team . Thank you Mr Modell , you gave us a team and sold it to a great owner 2 things to your family we can never repay .

Rest in peace, Art.

Thank you for bringing football back to the city of Baltimore, and what you've done for football as a whole.

My condolences to your family.

I was curious to read what people were writing on ESPN and boy, Cleveland fans are terrible. Some of the posts I read are a disgrace. Some people don't care what they write since they can hide behind a computer screen.

Rest in Peace Art..

Thoughts and Prayers go to the Modell family, Art was a great man, under appreciated by some, loved by most.

Thanks for bringing us MNF, a team here in Baltimore, another SB Victory, and many happy memories!

I get the hate for Mr Modell eminating from Cleveland but some of the things stated have crossed the line. Things that fans from the city of cleveland will never acknowledge is how Art saved the Indians from moving to New Orleans by taking on and playing in the dump Municipal Stadium. Public officials completely took a dump on the Browns.

(I suggest reading a superb book Glory for Sale if anyone would like to find out about Baltimore football including how the owners down in DC undermined Baltimore at any opportunity going back to the '50's with George Preston Marshall.)

Art's philanthropy efforts in the city of Cleveland have been wiped off the slate as well from the top city officials on down to the street cleaners.

Mr Modell has made mistakes in his life moving to Baltimore wasn't one of them, it was out of financial necessity. At the expense of his legacy he was protecting his business and family. There's another thing you won't hear from anyone in Cleveland including the media.... Like anyone would believe they wouldn't do the same if they had an option for a cash windfall. He left the colors and history in it's rightful place, it was the right thing to do he also contributed money via Baltimore PSLs to help build Cleveland Brown Stadium. None of those mentioned he had to do.

The shills that have kept Mr Modell out of the Pro Football Hall of Fame only cheapens the place. No one can rightfully say it's an institution for the games greatest without having Art Modell enshrined.

May you Rest In Peace Mr Modell!!

It really is embarrassing what some of those people are writing on ESPN. A bunch of those yokels are probably teenagers and early 20 somethings anyway - they were barely born when the Browns left Cleveland. Instead of stomping on the grave of one of the pre-eminent owners in NFL history, they should be asking themselves why they haven't any success since Bernie Kosar left despite drafting two first round quarterbacks (now 3) and picking in the top 10 every year.

Such a sad day. I wish he could have had one more year to watch us make this SB run.

Please stop acknowledging the trash in Cleveland.

For those of you complaining about Cleveland... stop. I'm sure back then that if the Internet was what it is now, we'd have a few unkind words about Robert Irsay.

Just because some people are trash does not mean the rest of us have to stand for it.

Dude, I'm just tired of the back and forth. We're never gonna convince them that Mr. Modell was the great man that he was.

I'm just trying to accept it for what it is; that there are going to be some classless people out there and they're gonna be loud.
