Why is everything he says regarding the Ravens so negative? This is his latest article/blog regarding the McKinnie event today on espn.

He probably gets a lot of hate from Steeler fans for previously writing for the Sun so he has to "hate it up" for them. His way of being "fair". When he was with the Sun, it was all rainbows and butterflies about the Ravens.

It's his attempt to show ESPN and everyone else that he's cut his ties with the Ravens... I'd say he's more negative about McKinnie than the team as a whole though.

Exactly what I was thinking, because he is the only analyst on ESPN that picked the Ravens not to make the playoffs.

It's like every article he writes about us is always negative. He can't say anything good without saying a few statements that completely take away any positives. In that blog he talks about Oher in a bad way like Oher is a sort of bust.

I was gonna post a thread about him the other day. In ESPN's recent predictions for this year, he didn't even have us making the playoffs. That blew my mind. And then he had the Cowboys winning it all. Lol.

He is constantly regarded as a Ravens homer, so I think part of it is to distance himself from the Ravens. I also think he might get a kick out of the ire he raises among Ravens fans. He is approaching Skip Bayless levels of trolling.

Wow, that was blatant trolling. Another failed attempt to replace JO? A soon to be HOFer is pretty tough to replace, and this is what, our second attempt? Also, question Gaither's work ethic if you will, but the whole thing went downhill as soon as he injured his back in NE. That was the beginning of the end, not questions about work ethic and lazyness. If you have chronic back issues, then that's a problem.

We had a supplemental draft pick trying to replace a legend, and it may very well have worked in the long run had he not gotten hurt. Oh but I forgot, it was our fault, we should've seen it coming.

Yeah, I write for a small NFL website and I actually avoid writing about the Ravens because I know I'll be a little biased as a Ravens fan. I miss James Walker, he should have stayed in the AFC North and Jamie could have covered the AFC East.

he is the complete opposite of Skip Bayless who could care less what people think and just sits there and lets everything out. id rather hear bayless than read someone who is hiding their true opinion because people will get mad and ruin his rep. we need a new blogger period. i miss walker. i think people on NFL network have more credibility than this guy and i don't like them either.

The problem for Hensley is the guy he replaced, James Walker, was from Cleveland and originally followed the Browns for a local paper (just like Hensley) but the Browns stink so it was never an issue. With the Ravens being perennial contenders Hensley is in a tough spot.

I liked James. Always felt he did his homework even if the work portrayed Baltimore negatively
Hensley, atleast on two occasions, seems lazy with his work. It doesn't seem like he actually has any info and it's like reading a message board post.

That's what I missed about walker. He brought insight so we learned things from him.

If I said what I really think about Hensley, I'd have to drop a warning on myself. :-)

I didn't like him at the Sun and I like him less now.

I agree... It's one thing to stir trouble, but it's another be a terrible analyst and reporter. A lot of what he says doesn't make sense. I wish I could remember what he screwed up royally during the draft, but I remember thinking this guy has no idea what's going on... I bet someone on here knows what I trying to think of....

Agreed. I read what Hensley writes sometimes and I'm like, wow, that's completely wrong. He should at least try to be a little more accurate with some of his coverage.

I like Clayton on ESPN he usually reports on all teams without any bias. I also like Mel Kiper he lets everyone know that he's a Ravens fan but he always backs up what he has to say.

Umm, he kinda is. I'd say he is mediocre at right tackle and is complete trash at LT (lead the league in false starts the yr before last )

Honestly, I find Hensley's perspective refreshing in most cases. Take this article for instance. The fact is McKinnie is not dependable and not especially effective. Other times, he is clearly trying to avoid being called a Ravens homer (not that it works, since he still gets called a homer after predicting that the Ravens will miss the playoffs for the first time in 5 years). And other times I'm pretty sure he is just [profanity deleted] with us, like when he predicted that the NFC would be represented in the SB by the Cowboys.

He's far from mediocre at RT and at LT he is better than average. I think the false starts hurt drives but he kept Flacco from getting killed when he was LT. It was his first time playing LT in the NFL since he played RT as a rookie. He even said he didn't get comfortable playing LT that year. He worked on it last year and this offseason so if he had to play there again the false starts would go away. When he played there throughout the PS this year, no false starts and no sacks given up. He's alot better than you think he is.
