Im sorry but the rams game Osemele was reading the back of Long's jersey all night and Oher has said
repeatedily he's not comfortable at LT.... im sorry but this just doesnt spell well at all...
Agreed. This was a terrible move. I want to see what the reasoning behind it was. We dont have anyone who can play LT as well as Mckinnie.

KO v. Woodley twice... scary proposition. Well, we know what Dickson and Pitta will be doing a lot of this year.

Honestly Oher may be the better LT.
This. mcKinnie wasnt good last year...and this gets KO on the field which is a very good thing. Our line gets younger and more athletic. This also frees up cap space to potentially go after a pass-rusher.

Cut and re-sign after no one picks him up?
Doubtful, but who knows? If he wouldn't restructure, why would he re-sign for significantly less?

That would justify it in my mind, but what OLB or DE is available? Is Ozzie trying to work a trade?

The plot thickens...

I could see this i do recall reading that if he was cut he didnt require to pay that loan he took.. but when he says "im gone" i dont think it was a positive ending to the meeting... I hope the FO has a plan cause im just straight up confused..
Maybe that's the move. Ozzie called his bluff and when McKinnie can't find a better deal elsewhere he'll come back for the price the FO was willing to pay in the restructure. It doesn't make sense.... 3M for a LT is a pittance. I don't understand why they were trying to get that number even lower at the risk of losing the only LT on the roster.

I like the move. We need to start trusting the younger guys. Everyone was clamoring that we didn't give people their chances and we finally are. I'm not mad at this at all. Ohers contract is almost up and we gotta see what he can do. Also might be trying to make a move to get another player and need the cap space.

Ugh. So what's it gonna be? Get another stop-gap at LT, or does Oher finally get the nod to go full-time? Who else is out there?

I actually dont see this as a bad move, bad timing yes, but definitely not bad. Imo KO more then held his own at RT and i've been saying Oher is a much better Lt then most give him credit for.

Also the no huddle uptempo style really suits Oher well at LT. Our new starting Oline has basically been our starting unit all training camp

If this was 4 weeks ago, I wouldn't have been surprised at all. But with less than a week until the MNF opener against the Bengals, it makes no sense. McKinnie has been nothing but a nuisance all offseason though.

I trust Ozzie has something up his sleeve.

Osi is still too expensive I'd say
They do need a tackle. What of we made a trade?

It was one bad game. He will grow as the season progressses. The key is he has the ability and that the line is playing its best by the post season or late in the season.

Someone on this site linked stats months ago, Oher gave up less sacks/pressure in 2010 than mckinnie did in 2011, and Oher is atleast 3 times better in run blocking, I really like this move tbh, KO needed to be on the field, one of our best lineman already.
We released him. We don't have rights to him anymore and therefore the Giants could just sign him off the street.

I believe Left Tackle just took priority in the 2013 Draft. Can we get JO to come out of retirement for a year instead of trying to play Oher at LT. Keep Oher at LT, and put KO at LG.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. The FO is clearly looking for more cap space. There has to be a reason right?

KO held his own against Long, did you watch it?
Hes a rookie, a rookie that made Avril look downright silly aswell.
Logic would say so..... I have the utmost confidence in our FO but this move has me scratching my head.

Well this move can go either way. It can come back to haunt us, or we could be pleasantly surprise with the group of guys we'll field.

Never been a fan of Bryant but he was our best option at LT (I don't know if that still held true through PS).

Oh. Just remembered they can't sign him anyway. They're over the cap.

Baltimore Sun text JUST said they are in contract disputes and MAY release him. Wondering if they are delayed or someone jumped the gun...
