Predict The Score: Ravens @ Texans

36 posts in this topic

congrats to JO_75 for being the closest to predict the score (30-27), hope you enjoyed the free toilet paper and bobblehead! this weeks award, a lifetime supply of beef jerky of course with the Texans logo. My prediction:

Ravens 28
Texans 24

Texans are tough at home, but ever since the Colts beat the living hell out of us, we've seen a much different team. I guess we needed that ****** whooping, thank you Colts ;)

The game looks pretty good and should go our way for some reasons.

1. Their running game automatically goes out the window
2. No Matt Schaub will deal a serious blow to their passing game
3. Our defense is similar but better then the Steelers so this will be the 3rd time they face a top 5 defense.

So that pretty much looks good for us.
Unfortunately theres 1 thing that doesnt look good.

MAIN THING - Andre Johnson against Walker or Ivy? Doesnt look so good to me. He can actually catch deep balls especially when hes wide open. He wont drop it like Braylon did against us. Hopefully they can shut him down and keep him out of the game. If they do that the game will be ours for sure.

Hopefully they 2nd string QB and Johnson arent in sync as a QB and WR should be. Thatll be another upside for us.

edit - LoL.. I forgot to predict a score

27-10 Ravens

Our defense will do what it always does.

Stover will kick 2 FGs.
Flacco will pass for 2 TDs and someone will run it in
or
Flacco will pass for 1 TD and someone will run in 2 TDs.(Probably McGahee if hes playing the whole game)

33-24

I think we keep up our 30+ scoring streak and the Texans will stay effective with Sage throwing it to Johnson; however I see Sage throwing/fumbling late in the game to seal the deal for us (similar to the Colts game).

I agree. I think Sage can put up some decent numbers against us. But we are guaranteed for at least one INT with him throwing the ball.

YOU MUST BE CRAZY PREDICTING THE SCORE TO BE THIS CLOSE. THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE AN ABSOLUTE BLOW OUT. Matt Schaub is going to be out in the game against us and that leaves Sage

Rosenfels to throw against the Ravens dominating defense. The Texans defense against the run is ranked 23rd in the league, and the Ravens are 5th best in rushing yards. I do not see anyway the Texans win

this game, unless there is a HUGE let down by the offense (which I don't see happening with Flacco and our WR's looking as good as they do).

THE PREDICTION: 38-10 RAVENS!

Let's see. Our offense has come alive the past two games, but don't expect a blow out. I mean sure it would be great to have a blow out win, but I gotta give the Texans credit. Their record is better than what it actually is. The Texans should be in second in the AFC South. Schaub is out, but Sage has proven he can be a NFL starting QB(dont be suprised someone does a trade to get Sage as a starter for 2009) now that means Sage will have to beat us through the air, and I say Steve Slaton comes close to getting a 100 yard day on us. But he won't get it. So Flacco will get at least 2 TDs again and 200+ yards passing and defense will seal the win again.

Ravens- 38
Texans- 28

Texans just had an ugly road loss...proud teams returning home after a loss are always dangerous. I wouldn't mark this down as an "easy win".

27-13 Ravens, I say the Secondary is much better with Samari and we clamp on the deep shots. Sage does not really throw a good deep ball from what I have seen, I think we will have a pick in secondary for a nice return!

Sage might not be able to throw the best deep ball, but when you're throwing it to a guy like A. Johnson that doesn't matter as much, if he can get him between 15-20 yards out he can make things happen for them.

However that would put him in Reed's territory too ;)

This one is making me nervous. The Texans are a dangerous team who just lost. We got an emotional victory over a division rival. The ebb and flow is odd... The Ravens need to bring their A-game, Schaub or Sage starting.

Some teams are other teams' Kryptonite and I'm nervous a strong Mario Williams (8 sacks) and Andre Johnson (over 800 yards receiving already this season) cause us a little too much grief. The Texans are #5 in passing offense... Something scary considering our current situation.

It's got to be an A-game effort from the Ravens this week. I know Coach H. is giving the team an extra day off this week and I'm hoping it pays off. The 'gelling' the team is experiencing - I hope that translates on the field. I do believe for a win they've got to take it to the next level again.

They have the talent for a 31-13 win. Honestly I think this is more of a turning point game than the Browns game. It's hard to muster all you've got in this situation - emotional win last week, media loves you, everybody's happy, non-division opponent away, their starting QB down... I really, really hope the team gets AMPED for this one.

31-13 Ravens if they do what they're capable of. If not, it could go the other way.

Texans O:

Rushing: 40 yards and im being generous
passing: 250 Andre, Owen, and co. are pretty good and sage is only a little worse than schaub nets 2 tds

Ravens O:
Rushing: Mcgahee would be limited again and gains only 30-40 yards Ray rice comes big against a weak texans run D and gets his second 100 yard rushing game with 124 1 td
Passing: Flacco will keep playing well and has is first 300 yard with 3tds, two to mason 1 to heap

kicking: stover 2 fgs
texans: 3 fgs

score: 34 to 23 Ravens

I dont see how this is not an easy win, I dont see any way that the Texans will be able to man handle our defense and I think the rushing game will destroy the Texans horrible defense

I believe that the Ravens vs. Texans game is going to be an absolute domination for the Ravens. Joe Flacco has found his rithum, and along with his rithim he found a hot receiver. Derrick Mason has found a QB in Baltimore for good! With "cam cam" directing the offense, and the offensive line playing the way they are, i see no struggle for this young offense. Though with Willis coming to the sideline every two plays for whatever excuse he makes up for that drive, I have faith in McClain and Rice. The Texans defense gives up an average of 126.8 yards a game rushing (23rd in NFL) and we have the 5th best rushing offense in the NFL. Though our secondary is banged up, Wash. and Walker are getting used to rex's defense. They are not going to run on us, because then they would just upset ray; and nobody likes ray when he is angry. Walker will have a tough match-up with Andre Johnson; but without Schuab, its like the Dallas Cowboys third string quarterback throwing to Roy Williams; it just won't work. I expect the Ravens defense to dominate do to the absence of their 2nd offensive playmaker (Schuab, 1st being WR, A. Johnson), and the offense to rack up points and "rip apart" the weak Texans defense. Final score 30-10, Ravens. GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!!

The Texans' run game won't be an issue. Slaton gets 39 yards on 11 carries, Green 18 yards on 8 carries. Sage will have to throw the ball 35+ times, my guess 19-35 215, 1 TD, 3 INTS. Andre Johnson 7 catches for 87 yards and a TD.

For the Ravens, stifiling defense will lead to an Ed Reed pick 6. The running game will be dominant and I don't think Flacco will have to pass more than 25 times. McGahee 50 yards, Rice 90 yards and a TD, McClain 45 yards. Flacco 18-25 210 yards, 2TDs. Heap will be the classic Heap that we all know and love 8 catches 80 yards and a TD, Mason 5 catches 50 yards and a TD. Cap it off with a Matty Stover FG.

Final Score 31-13 Ravens ;)

notice the consistency in our predictions.....we all have the Ravens scoring high, this is the first time we've had faith that they could actually put up lots of points on the boards. I'm loving the change in culture. :)

Despite it being the Colts we just do not have an awnser for Peyton, he is quite honestly without peer in this league. I would have loved to see how that O would look with our D, I could see that being a record breaking team.

As to the subject at hand, I see this as a purple Aide of the Kool moment ( having quite a few of late) I say 28-13 Ravens all the way baby!! My reasoning is I spend way too much time being objective about how we will play other teams and just a little bit I want to say F it the Ravens are going to kill the other team!! I blame Flacco and the O for this sudden need to drink copious amounts of Grape I just used the EMB's #1 Cliche.

me too. 41-0 Ravens first shut-out
Ravens up 17 at the half, then 24 more to blow the doors of Reliant stadium.(no offence) I'm hungy for beef jerky!

I hope everyone here is right and my caution pessimism is just reflex reaction to the team doing extremely well. I guess I live too far on the Philly side of Baltimore...

I wouldn't go so far as saying it will be a blowout. This is a home game for them. As for the Texans being ranked 23rd in run defense, If I recall the Colts run defense was ranked 31st, and it didn't seem to matter. Sage is a better QB than one would think. I think we are guaranteed for one pick, but he's still going to get some decent numbers. They should get some decent pressure on Joe.

I'm thinking 20-16 Ravens
