To quickly paraphraze the Pats forums he's purely a ST/backup with good size and is a great tackler. Coming off a shoulder injury last year.

don't know much about him and don't remember him too much from last year when he was on the pats, but I didn't think he was that good

"Through ten games in the 2011 season, Ihedigbo started 6 games and made 42 tackles." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Ihedigbo

Probably a less talented version of Pollard. Don't expect too much of him or put him in a position to get exposed and he'll be an asset.

Who does he push off the roster, though?

I think I would like to see him and Tiger in a fist pumping contest.

I don't know anything about him, but watching the video makes me think he could be an excellent reclaim project. He may thrive working with Ed and Pollard. You never know.

I think he can be that guy who we can throw into the mix in those 3rd down blitzing situations when we are looking to generate pressure without sacrificing the total number of DBs on the field. Kind of how we used Haruki and Zibby in the past.

Don't like Considine. He was just awful against the Lions.. continually missed his help assignment over top. Cary had great coverage on Megatron and Considine froze in coverage and completely missed his over top help and allowed a big play.

Considine just looks too slow and unathletic to ever be out with the D. Should strictly be a ST player and deep on the depth chart at safety. Wouldn't care in the least if he got cut for Ihedigbo

No chance, but I'm hoping it's considine.

I have to think it would be Considine. Considine looked terrible. I think it should be Considine, anyway. I liked what I saw from Brown in preseason.

Ihedigbo performed better than the Pats probably expected last year considering he was thrust into major playing time by injuries. He's probably a better tackler than Considine but they're still both about the same level of player. I fail to see how he would be any better than Omar Brown or even Cyhl Quarles. Just my opinion though.

As other members of The Flock have already said, the strengths of James Ihedigbo are being an efficient special teams contributor, being very solid against the run and being a very fine tackler. However, on the contrary, Ihedigbo isn't know for his zone coverage (although, it's no where as "bad" as Sean Considine was during this preseason). Plus, he hasn't show the same ability as Bernard Pollard to be an effective blitzer.

James Ihedigbo will be the back-up to Pollard at strong safety, baring Considine ever getting 100% healthy, again. As well, he will earn a spot on the kick coverage team. Maybe Ihedigbo can even learn a thing-or-two from Pollard or Ed Reed.

That said, seeing how I go to the same school that James Ihedigbo went to, I hope Bernard Pollard is able to remain healthy, all year long. Not because I can't trust Ihedigbo to fill-in for Pollard, but rather, I don't want to even imagine how Ihedigbo would introduce himself and his alma mater during a Sunday Night Football game, this year, after last year's fiasco...

I liked what i saw in the video during special team coverage, hopefully he improves our coverage teams when he is given the opportunity. I had no idea he was the dude who almost got that saftey on zibby haha i was on the freaking out hard during that play

Maybe Sean Considine goes to PUP.

I can forgive considine sucking in safety, his record shows his not a starter material. But at the very least he was suppose to be that special guy at ST. He looked like a complete slob out there and to top it off, he already has 2 concussion in a LIMITED role in preseason!

His not worth the 53 man roster spot & certaintly not worth the money we paid him.

Get him out and move on with regular season.
