How's my draft look? Any spots of need?

20 posts in this topic

QBs- Drew Brees, RG3

RBs-Darren Mcfadden, Marshawn Lynch, BenJarvis Green-Ellis, Jahvid Best, CJ Spiller

WRs- Vincent Jackson, Demaryius Thomas, Michael Crabtree, Robert Meachem

TEs-Fred Davis, Jared Cook Jr.

K-Alex Henery

Def- Texans

I was thinking of upgrading my WRs. As you can see, i took Brees first, and then went RB 2 rounds in a row i believe with McFadden and Lynch. So i didnt draft a WR till round 4 when i took Jackson i think. Its too soon to tell who i should pick up obviously, but I figured I'd just get some general opinions.

I see you used your first 3 picks on QB then 2 RBS. Your team looks pretty good though man. You probably should pick up another WR Michael Crabtree is declining and won't see much time. Both your starting WRs could be questionable this year so you might wanna pick up a safer pick. I think McFadden is going to have a breakout year if he can still healthy, I have him on my team too.

Yeah, I'd try to pick up a WR via trade...Maybe dangle RG3 and get a top 20 guy back. Your RBs are good though as long as DMC stays healthy and Lynch doesnt get suspended!

How many teams in your league?

lynch will most likely get a game suspension.

i thought best was going to start out on the pup list or something, because of all his concussion issues.

See if danny amendola is available in free agency, i think he has a big year

Sorry i guess i should've mentioned that. Its a 10 team league.

So i should probably drop Crabtree i guess? I could pick up Amendola right now if i would.

And there so happens to be a Redskins fan in my league. He's receivers are Calvin Johnson, Pierre Garcon, Eric Decker, and Mario Manningham. Obviously, he wouldnt trade Megatron, and the only other one that would possibly interest me is Garcon.

In a 10 team league there should be a plethora of starting WR's out there although none of your WR's are bad, there may be a spot you could drop for a high ceiling receiver..
Really good looking team though..

To be honest, not really. The best WR's available right now are Laurent Robinson (Jaguars), James Jones (GB), Nate Burleson or Titus Young (DET), Jerome Simpson (MIN, suspended first 4 games i believe?) and Steve Breaston (KC). James Jones, or one of the guys from Detroit would be the only ones i would possibly pick up.

Possible Pick Up's
Kendall Wright (low risk/high reward. Pending Kenny Britt suspension, a shifty receiver who is compared to Wes Welker or Percy Harvin), Michael Floyd (2x/3x coverage on Fitzgerald), sleepers Alshon Jefferey (same reason as Floyd), Jon Baldwin (possession type WR who may reap TD's in the end-zone, also same reason as Floyd and Jefferey).

Not saying to pick them up as like i said before neither of your receivers are worth dropping because they aren't bad per se, they just may not be in a spectacular position.

Your Team
Mike Crabtree (Alex Smith is throwing the ball... Randy Moss/Mario Manningham/Vernon Davis will leach a lot when they do throw...ALEX SMITH is throwing the ball!!)
Demarius Thomas (will demand double coverage. Expect Decker to catch more passes)
Vincent Jackson (Solid WR in the wrong offense. WHEN they do throw the ball expect him to make plays on play-action)
Robert Meachem (Im high on Meachem, but maybe Injury prone?)

Thinking about picking up Floyd and dropping Crabtree. Totally forgot about him for some reason, probably because i was worried about their QB situation.

Floyd should be a solid pick-up, low-risk high reward type of player.
A lot of pundits are expecting Floyd to have the same impact Boldin had when he was with AZ as long as Fitzgerald is on the other side and Skelton can get them the ball..

Floyd is 4th on their depth chart and didn't play good at all in the preseason. I wouldn't touch him in a 14 team league let alone a 10 team one.

Andre Roberts will start for the Cardinals just as an FYI. I would say Kendall Wright if he is there but if not pick up either Danny Amendola or Steve Smith of the Rams.

Picked up Amendola, dropped Crabtree.
Amendola will be a solid PPR WR who should ride your bench unless one of your starters go down or have a bye week depending on how many (if any) Flex options your league has.
Although im high on Meachem, he and Rivers are still a work in progress.

Standard setup
WR1:Thomas
WR2:Jackson
Flex:The Lawfirm

PPR
WR1:Thomas
WR2:Jackson
Flex:Amendola

Keep RG3 as a bartering chip. Consider trading a WR or RB for a better TE. Otherb than that, you're pretty well off!
