Yep. Every team does it. It sucks for the players because they are technically being forced to sit out a whole year of football when healthy.

I was sort of expecting the new CBA to address it, but it never really did.

What PuRock said, we have two TEs coming back from injuries. Hopefully they are healthy as soon as possible, but Bajema is the best we've got in the meantime, and I thought he looked pretty decent most of the time. Flacco had decent chemistry with him too, though preseason chemisty means very little... last year Flacco and Evans had much more chemistry than he did with Torrey.

He wouldn't be eligible for the practice squad since he accrued a full season on an active roster.

When talking about those final spots, I can't believe we would keep Painter over a guy like Omar Brown, or even a 4th RB, like Berry. It just dosen't make sense to me. Brown and Berry would contribute more then a 3rd QB.
I don't get the whole wild cat with Tyrod either. (since thats why we would keep Painter) In order to do that, you have to take Flacco out or put him at WR. Why would we even think about that?

When is Sean Considine is (ST/SS) getting cut?

Had high hopes for him being a vet and his been ....i'd say top 5 most disapointing player this off-season.

Our ST was suppose to be the most improved in terms of what we used our money on this offseason. It got dramatically worse. Everyone out there looked like they slabbed butter on their hands just for kicks.

Atogwe was a major playmaker for the Rams when he was there, didn't hear much from him last year though. Seeing how he has bounced around the last two seasons though, one can only presume that he must have lost a bit of his ability.

I really liked the Considine signing when it was announced, but seeing how poorly he played on defense in preseason coupled with multiple concussions confirmed what many of us already know: if you're one of Harbaugh's "guys" (Considine was in Philly with Harbs) you have a better than usual chance of sticking around. Its the only explanation I have with Considine over Brown at this point from a pretty objective point of view, and I know that Brown as a hungry rookie would have no problem throwing himself around on special teams coverage...the staff views these guys tons more than I ever could though, so I defer to their better judgement for now.

Not just Considine. The whole ST team is awful. Jerry Rosburg.....you've done nothing siginificant past 4 years and your ST team stunk year in year out. Last year for this guy
