If we didn't have so much bubble talent, sure. However, too much to pass up on for a 3rd QB.

On another note, he needs to learn to take a little less heat off the ball on those shot passes. The receivers get criticized for the drops, but those things were unnecessary bullets.

Showed promise first preseason game but ultimately he didn't do anything to be a lock at #2 so when you add that to what he did last year I say cut him as he will be a safe cut that we can get later if needbe

Painter. As much as I liked Tyrod last year, his ability to settle down, set his feet and throw seemingly disappeared this preseason. He looked more like a runner than a thrower this year. Meanwhile, Painter lit up the Falcons and threw multiple TDs (and INTs) all month long.

I agree. He seems to have regressed rather than progressed. Let me be clear here though, I don't want to have to rely on either one of these guys. If Joe gets a stinger or something and needs to be out a few plays though, I'd rather have Painter out there.

It was a tough one for me, but I am still leaning to Taylor as our #2.

I said this in the game thread. Painter isn't afraid to make the throws. But as evidence when he got quality starting time w/ the Colts, his decision making with those throws are questionable.

I like Painter as a replacement right now, but I think his upside is limited compared to Tyrod.

But the race was a lot closer than I thought originally.

I wouldn't go that far. Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, Austin Collie, Dallas Clark, Jeff Saturday. He's had more weapons than what Luck has right now. Same running game.

Defense had a lot of missing pieces but their offense still had talent, just no direction.
