Its me and I do it for fun. I'm a student interested in journalism and I guess you could call it my job as I don't really do anything else and I do get paid a little for it.

Am I the only one that really likes Madden 13? I love Connected Careers, maybe even more than franchise. Now that we can use custom rosters and we can edit players it's gonna be great. Just me?

Please don't give in. You'll hate yourself for it unless you get it for cheap. I'm talking, like, $20.

The game's still sitting on my dresser. Haven't touched it since the first weekend after release. I've been meaning to trade it in but now I'm hanging onto it until the next patch. My mind probably won't be changed.

Trade it in already and save yourself the waiting time of the next patch just to be disappointed again. I mean ok, they are adding Editing and things they took out back in it but this tells me that if they had just done more testing and figured a way to get it in the game BEFORE they released it, something tells me they could have had it in all along.

As I said, I'm a Casual NBA fan and I'm picking NBA 2K13 over Madden 13.

Just found an amazing roster update on Operation Sports for Madden 12 and now I can enjoy Madden 12 all over again. Go to this thread here and if you have an account and a PS3, download it as it will be the latest roster update.

I am looking for some advice on using the Ravens in M13. I have a hard time running the ball most of the time and really just utilize Rice as a receiver out of the backfield and am pretty successful on offense with them (aside from throwing about 3-4 picks a game from just making stupid decisions) but I have some questions about defense.

I dont like to run blitzes a lot because when I run man blitzes I ALWAYS get beat deep or across the middle and zone blitzes are hot and cold for because a decent player can see a zone blitzes almost immediately and the zones are pretty easy to beat.

I've mainly been running a pass defense and if I can keep the QB in the pocket longer than usual my DL can get the sack, given I have good coverage and he has nobody to pass to. A few of my favorite set ups is 3-4 over Cover 2 and I put Suggs and Kruger in purple zones. Usually the player has to wait longer for a WR to get outside of a zone but a lot of the time he is sacked before that happens. Cover 4 in nickle is good and I set the zones depending on the players tendencies.

What are some good pass defenses to run with the Ravens?

Honestly I keep it deadly simple online. On defense I play mainly cover 3 - for some reason people have troubles with it if you play the ILB position well and can force people to make dumb throws or hold onto it until the pressure arrives. I rarely if ever blitz. As for the run game I have noticed it is rather realistic in the fact that if you get into that 20-25 plus carries it really begins to get easier and holes become massive. Even if you are getting a ton of 1 or 2 yard gains off the start make sure you just keep rushing it and eventually I find they just open up...Im not the best offensively and am rather conservative so take it for what its worth.

I don't know what it's like on Madden 13 but on Madden 11 I zone blitzed the crap out of everyone while user playing with Lewis over the middle and I think I only gave up around 12ppg with over 100 games played. For rush offense I didn't mess with anything fancy for big gains, I went powers and Iso running behind the FB and usually could run the ball well. The trick is recognizing what the safeties are doing.

I played madden 12 earlier for the first time in what feels forever. Madden 13 made me better at it!

So far I've mostly just played with the Bears and Redskins. I suck with the Ravens.

With the Bears I use the 46 defense and always put atleast one defensive lineman in zone coverage or a spy while blitzing a LB. It works pretty good.

I'm so used to Madden 13 now that I love it. I still miss the old franchise mode, but I think this is the best madden by far now. You just got to stick with it.

My record online is only 18-17. Not good, not bad. I was always a lot better on Madden 12. I forget my record but I know I was up .500 by 40 some wins. Most of my losses come from people who nano blitz, I don't know how to stop it lol. I always win like 5 straight and then face that type of competition and than lose like 5 straight haha.

If anybody wants to play me on xbox than just add Gord So Iceyy.

Try some "power o" runs to the left with Rice. It seems to work for me (usually in the I formation). As for defense I will usually just play a basic 2 man under. The Ravens corners have great man coverage (both webb and smith are 90 or higher), so most of the time you can get away with man to man. I also manually cover who I think they will throw to. One game I had 5 picks with Jimmy Smith.

For those aware or unaware, EA put out a patch today that allowed people to use Custom Rosters in Connected Career Mode. So now you can edit players the way you want and take into CCM, well one problem with that.

So happy I checked up on the game before purchasing. Was going to buy it at the midnight release but found out about how they changed the franchise mode and got angry. Will be waiting til they get their stuff straight or 2k gets its rights back.

So who has actually played the Connected Career mode? I think it's a huge improvement over franchise... A lot of people seem to dislike it for the sole reason that it's not called "franchise mode."

My beef is there is no longer a multiplayer "franchise" mode. Being able to draft and then build the team with a friend was the only way I played. That way when you build a successful team you rub their face in it when they continuously get bumped in the first round or miss playoffs while you rack up rings.

I got it for $25 today. We'll see if it annoys me as much as it did the rest of you, but for that price I'm not going to whine about it. I liked the new physics engine in the demo, and it seems like the complaints are more on presentation than on gameplay.
