He's at it again. Just watch this video and you'll see why Skip Bayless has no idea what he's talking about. He disrespected Suggs, Flacco, Ray Lewis, and our entire team.

You have to understand that Skip and Stephen A, they get paid to be trolls. Stephen A agrees then Skip comes along and disagrees by dissing that team or athlete. That's just the way they work, they go good together. They argue and ultimately that's what pulls people in.

I started watching Skips show and I was okay with it at first, but then it just got repetitive. Bashing the same teams, the same athletes, praising tebow, lebron. They get paid to be idiots.

EDIT

I don't think he disrespected the team. If anything he said he had a little faith in Flacco after the last preseason game. They seemed a little less trollish. Skip tends to get stuck on hating a team and never lets up. He even tweeted after the last preseason game and commented on Flacco. I just think once Flacco takes the next step, he'll have to accept it.

Whenever you watch First Take, you have to have the mindset that everything that's being said is for entertainment. In no way are you supposed to take anything they say seriously as they're just saying what they're being paid to say to bring on the views. It works all the time.

Exactly. I see it as fake. Scripted. So, don't take it to heart.

"Hey, Stephen A, you argue for the Ravens. Skip, you argue against the Ravens."

He didn't disrespect Suggs. If anything he is saying he has such a big impact our defense won't be close to the same without him. Which I think we can agree our outside linebackers are a concern. Though he did act like he already knows the future for Suggs' injury which is stupid IMO. Also stupid/funny that he doesn't think we'll even make it to the playoffs.

Skip though is an idiot of biblical proportions so his word should be taken with a grain of salt. How the heck does he still gotta job? i guess if we are here even bringing his name up is the very reason he's still employed smh.

Let Skip be.

If we start winning rings, then he has to start picking on other underachieving teams.

We get no respect because playoff spot are not enough to get respects. Also, bad teams don't get any media attention cause they don't sell. This year's hard knocks with the Fins just terrible. They just look like a team in total disarray with coaches cleaning house and starting over. I believe they're tanking this year and try to get a high draft pick to start a new era.

It wasn't very disrespectful to me. He's said much worse. @Corvus I think so too. If they are actually going to give the coach time I like the moves he making. You strip a team down to the players you feel you can move forward with and stock pile picks to mold the team for the direction you want to take them. In the process you find young talent on the roster while hopefully using your picks wisely(high draft picks cause this team will be AWFUL for at least the next 2 seasons).

If saying the Ravens won't make the playoffs isn't disrespectful, just what what does he have to say?

I completely understand the whole staged debate thing, but any objective football fan, not just Ravens fans, could make sense of what Stephan A. had to say. Listen to Bayless and you think that this guy is just making things up to bash the Ravens. Not worthwhile entertainment anyway you look at it.

i watch this everyday and i used to love skip, but as i got a little older and smarter i started to realize how he works. hes such a contridiction...how he gives credit to say tebow for beating pitt but doesnt say anything about joe beating pitt in pitt two years in a row. He has so many man crushes its insane....mainly favre and brady..he will die before he says anything bad about either. i can honestly see skips argument though, basically saying that losing suggs is such a huge loss that he doesnt know if our offense can offset it, i mean, how can we be any better than we were last year with out suggs unless our offense turns into a extremely explosive one, time will tell....

Skip is an entertainer (or you can use Sizzle's colorful words for him). He's not an analyst, as Sizzle pointed out in that interview. He has insane man-crushes on players, then uses those to try and justify points i.e. post-season pitching is all that matters since he loves Josh Beckett so much (he's said half a dozen times over the years that Beckett is already a HOFer). It doesn't matter what the guy says - listen to real analysts like Ron Jaworski. I don't even listen much to Jamie Dukes considering his career was not very long or very distinguished - what does a former below average center know about quarterback play? In the same vein, what does a guy like Skip, who Jalen Rose pointed out never played sports at the college level, know about ANY elite athletic competition?

I think what he said was he has us making playoffs unless we solely rely on Flaccos arm. I feel if we only rely on Rice no SB. As far as I'm concerned these are both opinions and I can't fault someone for what they think, as wrong as it may be. I have us winning the SB and have for the past 2 years, apparently what I thought hasn't mattered, point being everyone can bash the team now until they decide to prove em wrong. I know we make playoffs barring serious injuries but that's not end game. The team we have is built for a dynasty and should have at least 1 by now. Every time I think of the AFCCG alittle more of me dies inside knowing we could have beat the Giants. That's part of why I'm happy both Evans and Cundiff are gone while hoping Jones doesn't do anything to ruin our season at a crucial moment.

Got sort of off topic but you get my point.

[sup]the sportsnation poll agrees with skip apparently 61% of the voters think we are not championship contenders without Sizzle. All i know is we have one difficult schedule this year. When we have to play the Texans and Patriots and other divisonal rivals play the Titans and Jets or Bills and Jags respectively its going to a tough year but i still cant wait.[/sup]

Just like PTI but I can stomach Wilbon and Kornheiser more than Bayless. Stephen A will always have a special place with me when he so poetically dissed Ryan Clark with 100 percent tact.

"Until then, you know what you can kiss" lol I was like ohhhh getem Stephen A

Okay, I understand you from that perspective. Basically, disrespecting our TEAM by saying they won't make the playoffs without Suggs, if we have to ride on Joe Flacco. Once again, that goes back to his distain for Joe Flacco. But as far as commenting on Suggs, talking about the achilles. It is a tough injury, but he is no doctor. As far as the father time comment, yeah, everyone says it every year. I see where you're coming from though with the playoffs. He just "dislikes" Flacco.

He's a Tebow fan-boy. Why do we even care what his opinion is?
I bet he really thinks we'd be better with Tebow. Which is... he gets... paid... to... say sport things...

Meh.
Think he is just argumentative.
He claimed Stephen a called flacco elite
But all Stephen a said was that he expected joe to improve and if joe improves then it will help with the loss of Suggs.
Don't thnk skip disrespects the team as a whole he just can not take hearing compliments for flacco
Honestly it seems more like a disdain for flacco than anything else.

In the end. I don't care. Only reason I watch is because the nfl am has their own skip bayless wannabe and Id rather watch the original than an imitator and after nfl am its preseason so no per choices

Slightly off topic, but maybe someone should remind Skip that even without Suggs' 14 sacks last season, the Ravens still posted 34 sacks, more than 13 other teams' entire 2011 totals and only one fewer than his beloved Steelers posted last year. Its gonna be great to see what the heck Skip can even attempt to spout out after our team wins it all.

Problem with that is the counter is simple
Were those sacks generated because offenses were focuses on blocking Suggs?

I don't think skip will disrespect ngata but still doesn't make your post/argument strong..

Who gives a flip what Skip says at any point? We validate his BS when we make complaint threads about him.

He's a Troll.

I followed him on Twitter at some point because I like to see what he has to say during games, but one day he tweeted, Patriots could possibly go undefeated, but I see them getting beat by TEBOW AND THE JETS.

He solidified his troll status.

I don't care for Skip. Its great when he has something good to say but horrible when he doesn't. He seems to flip flop on his standpoint a lot. Not just for the Ravens, but many teams.

When there is Skip, and the Ravens....it's only a matter of time before Suggs shows up. Suggs is a huge part of this defense, no doubt. But so is every person on that Ravens roster. Harbs has this team, so focused on the word team, that I believe they can do it without Suggs. Yeah, it does suck knowing he's not quite available, but as many people will say: Next man up. I do strongly believe Suggs though when he says he'll be back though. Guess only time will tell.

The Ravens do have a brutal schedule this season, but I do remind myself of how they went 7 - 1 last season against playoff teams.

Go Ravens!
