I Have Bought Into Flacco

11 posts in this topic

I have had confidence in Flacco, and have thought since Week 1 he is our guy for the future as far as being given a shot. Whether he would pan out as expected I obviously had my doubts that early on, but I still had respect for the guy after Week 1. Each game I have seen him improve, and he hasn't thrown an interception for at least 2 games, or has it been 3?

Our total yards posted last week were the best this season, and now we have topped another great performance. I am not looking at stats in front of me but I know this week was the highest yards yet for Flacco, and our offense as a whole. Total Yards: 429, and I know his completion % was not the best he has had, but he did get 2 TDs which is the best in a single game.

I am confident in Flacco, and he is improving week by week. I am VERY glad this organization has given him the opportunity, and let him continue as the starter moving forward. He could have been on the sidelines just taking notes, and watching, but I am VERY glad he is getting the experience for the future.

As a buy in to Flacco I have bought an Authentic Jersey from NFL Shop that I should get before the next home game VS the Eagles which I am attending. I know there is a lot of threads, but I want to ask besides how well he played, or should he be the starter, etc. (Take that to the OTHER threads) but has anyone else bought into him that were iffy before?

P.S. NFLshop is offering 20% off customized jerseys, and I got an additional 10% off with an email promotion they sent to me. $240 shipped for the jersey, and a hat I ordered, not too bad if you ask me.

I must say when that guy stands tall in the pocket, he is going to put the ball on the MONEY. I feel like it was his time to be a starter, so many things just seemed to happen to put him in the role of "Our Guy". I can't be more pleased with our DRAFT, TWO OFFENSIVE standouts...AWESOME! I feel like if Flacco keeps playing with the same inteligence and confidence it will make MANY WR/TE Free Agents look to the Baltimore Ravens for their next home! I keep thinking that once Joe works all of our WR's in, we will have a very balanced passing attack, and the running game WILL set that up. It's great to know we actually have an offense that can pull of a play action pass! I can't tell you how much it excites me to see 400+ total yard of offense on the board for the Ravens!

I agree, however I am scared that teams will start double covering Mason.

They are doubling him, and have been for the past seven(ish) years, he just flat out gets open. The big plays to Mason come off of single coverage, but he still catches a ton of balls with a CB and LB/SS shadowing him.

Ravens need to start trusting in the WR's more. One of the reasons y Mason is open is because we dont run much except curl routes. I dont know y teams cant cover it but with Flacco in the pocket they will

start trusting our offense more and we can finally see some great offense from the Ravens

im more than excited and confident in the way Flacco has been playing since the Colts game it takes a real NFL Quarterback to come back from a game he had against them and play the way he has the last 3 weeks!

KEEP IT UP JOE!!!!

and i was very pleased with Ray Rice's performance as well who knew he would run for 154 yards?
ive always been advocating for giving him more carries but to come out and run like that WOW!

I think this week showed that Joe is starting to be confident in other WRs besides just Mason, Clayton had a good day and Rice has proven he can make things happen if Joe gets him the balls. The way our offense is starting to gel, doubling Mason wouldn't be as crippling as it might have been earlier in the season. Now Joe would feel conformable hitting Clayton, who would be one-on-one, dumping it to our RB (whoever might be in at that time), or even making them pay some with his legs, because if they are doubling Mason then there is one less defender on the rest of the field to try and stop the rest of our offense.

That being said I'm starting to doubt teams will ever double Mason, just because of the type of player he is. On paper he looks like the type of guy any good corner could handle on his own, but because he runs such good routes and makes sharp cuts he always can make the separation needed to let Joe get him the ball; but even when it happens its not the "big" play type break that would call the attention of a double from opposing defenses. And that is even more true now because Mason is no longer such a key part of our offense that doubling him would shut us down completely, it would just allow another part of the offense to have greater success.

As a huge Flacco fan myself just don't forget that we haven't played any really good teams since the indy game.....He has improved greatly dont get me wrong but well it show in the tougher games when it

really matters.

yep, and im waiting....but i think considering Joe's progress, playing these easy teams really would build confidence in a Quarterback, not only for his receivers, but to go downfield and make those tight-window throws, which we know the cannon-armed Flacco can do. When we play the tougher teams, flacco will go with the same confidence and same success, imo.
