RG3- 96/139, 69.1%,1,161 yards, 4 TD, 1 INT, 101.9 rating.... Redskins- 2-3 (Left last game vs Atlanta because of injury.)
rushing stats: 42 attempts, 241 yards, 4 TDs.

Luck- 96/177, 54.2%, 1,208 yards, 7 TD, 5 INT, 77.1 rating.... Colts had a BYE week, then beat the Packers.
rushing stats: 16 attempts, 104 yards, 1 TD.

So far I say they're about even. RG3's #'s may look a little better but given the circumstances I think Luck has a slight edge on him. Both very impressive though.

RG3 won't have much of a career if he doesn't learn to slide and stop taking unnecessary hits. Luck takes a lot of hits due to his poor Oline but appears much more poised to me.

Alright, well this week RG3 looked even more amazing. 76 yard TD run that broke open his game vs the Vikings, while Luck struggled and lost vs the JETS!!!

RG3 back in the lead after this week.

RG3 ran the last 40 yards of that 73 yard run in only 4.0 seconds. Very impressive, especially after running the first 33 yards. Sure he had a running start, but he did slow down at the end on purpose looking back at the guy trying to tackle him, while laughing and highstepping. haha

Not to knock RG3 or anything, but Id really like to see what he can do as a passer. The way the Shanahans have designed their offense doesnt force RG3 to make tough throws or put him in situations where he has to win from the pocket. They run a heavy run game, with some option, use quite a few screens from what I have seen (which inflates his efficiency) and dont really force Griffin to win the game with his arm. I am not saying he cannot do it. I am sure he can. I am just saying that Id like to see more of it.

With Luck you already know he can do all of the things a prototypical QB has to be able to do. He can dominate from the pocket, he has clean footwork, he makes tough throws and good decisions etc... We don't know that RG3. To me right now, RG3 looks like Michael Vick circa 2010 or Cam Newton last year. Vick was phenomenal that year. He did great from the pocket and was able to use his feet well. But as time went on teams figured him out and he has become mediocre. Cam is the same way. Through the first 8 games of 2011, Cam was phenomenal averaging over 300 yards passing a game in addition to his rushing. Over the next 8 games, he averaged just barely over 200 yards a game and those totals went down. So while RG3 looks like the more phenomenal athlete now until I see him dominate a game from the pocket and do what Luck has to do (because he doesnt have RG3's physical talents) I cannot crown him better than Luck.

I agree. I'd like to see him throw down field more. He has the arm, he has the brains, but does he have the medium to deep throw accuracy? I can't stand the way the Redskins offense is set up. I feel RG3 should throw medium to deep atleast 3-4 more times a game, and do the option 2-3 times less a game.

Both looked good yesterday. I'm starting to become more of a believe in RG3 in the long term.
He will need to learn to run alittle less if he wants a long term career, otherwise he will start getting blasted like vick and become injury prone.

RG3 so far looks like a better passer, and a pass first QB. All he needs to learn is stay run out of bounds more, like he has been doing ever since his concussion. He looks amazing right now, so far I think he looks more impressive then Cam Newton did last year through his first half of the season.

[background=rgb(255, 255, 255)]Through 9 weeks... (RG3 has 1 more game played than Luck)

Colts- 5-3
Redskins- 3-6

Passing-
RG3- 172/262, 65.6%, 1,933 passing yards, 8 TDs, 3 INT, 93.3 Rating.
Luck- 190/336, 56.5%, 2,404 passing yards, 10 TDs, 8 INT, 79.0 Rating.

Rushing-
RG3- 81 attempts, 529 yards, 6 TDs, 6 fumbles. (3 lost)
Luck- 27 attempts, 148 yards, 3 TDs, 0 fumbles.

So far they both have done great. I got to say Lucks been better though. His teams in the hunt for the playoffs, and he's doing amazing things. RG3 isn't getting much help. The last 3 weeks the Redskins recievers have had about 30 some drops. No Pierre Garcon. And he's also had a slighter harder schedule than Luck.

Lucks battled threw alot this season. Average O-line, no head coach, bad running game... And he's still managed to beat the Packers a few games ago. He's shown clutchness mutliple times already this season. (So has RG3).

They're both great, but I'd say Luck has been a tad greater.[/background]

How the tables have turned! Luck's beating RG3 at his own game: running. His throwing is more impressive too, imo. Luck always chucks a bomb at the most opportune time, ensuring victories for a team that last 14 games in a row last season.

This is just purely passing...

Luck through 375 attempts:

216 - 375 - 2,715 - 11 - 10 (.576 comp. %)

To RG3's 375 attempts:

249 - 375 - 3,100 - 20 - 5 (.664 comp. %) (2 INTs were balls that were deflected... not sure about luck though).

I think RG3 has done better this year, and that he deserves ROY.

Next would be Wilson, & then Luck, By a hair.

We all know theres certain attributes to players that don't show up on the stats, Luck will most likely become the best QB out of this draft class. But for rookie year, I've got to say RG3 has been more impressive.

Wilson just a tad more impressive then Luck. I know Lucks story this year is amazing, and Wilson has one of the best defenses in football. But what turns me off about Luck is the amount of turnovers he's done. Also he's had a weaker schedule then the Hawks.

It's really a tie for me at 2nd place between the two.

Next would be Doug Martin & then Alfred Morris imo

I expected RG3 to be better stat wise, but I thought Luck would have had way less interceptions. In the end, both of them will have had great rookie seasons by leading their teams to the playoffs. I expect the Redskins to win against Dallas and move on to play whomever the 5th seed is. Luck though will have a harder time whether it's us or the Patriots(if they lose and we win and jump to the 3 Seed).

I definitely see RG3 taking his team way farther in the playoffs than the 1-dimensional Colts. The Redskins have created a really dynamic offense, adding RG3, Morris and Garcon. And of course you can't forget Kai Forbath!

I expect that Luck will have a much bigger impact on his Wild Card game than Griffin. Fortunately for RG3, he has a much more manageable matchup, hosting the Seahawks, who play much worse on the road than they do at raucous CenturyLink Field. Morris also takes a lot of pressure off his back with his dynamic run plays.

IMO ROY should go like this....

1. RG3
2. Luck
3. Wilson
4. Morris
5. Martin

Luck & Wilson could be 2a & 2b for me. Both equally impressive to me. RG3 just a little more.

Luck should win it hands down. Right now Griffin looks like nothing more than a qb that benefits from the read offense that makes the defense honor the run everytime. Next year he will be figured out.

Not to mention look at where the Colts were before Luck, they have nothing for defense. Griffin has two good wr's and a good defense

Really, nothing more then a QB that benefits from the read offense? Of course he benefits from it? Morris wouldn't be as good if it wasn't for RG3s threat of running. RG3's been the most consistent, steady, explosive force in the NFL this season. (Besides P. Manning & AP)

I think all 3 rookie QBs deserve it, RG3 just more. 3rd in the NFL in QB Rating. 20 passsing TDs, 5 INT's. (thats crazy) Won the division, led all rookies in completion %, led the league in yards per attempt, led all rookies in rushing yards and TDs....the point is, he's just been more effecient then Luck.
Lucks turned it over waaaay to much. He threw the ball more then RG3, but it's mostly because he was always losing, and the Redskins were always running. Because it worked!

Also I would have to disagree that RG3 has more weapons then Luck. Their defenses were very similiar, Colts ranked 26th overall, Skins 28. Colts gave up 24.2 PPG, Skins 24.3 - So stats show Luck had a slightly better defense. Skins had no Orakpo or Carriker all year so yeah.

RG3 lost his starting TE for the majority of the year, and Garcon missed basically half the season. And every game he started for them the Redskins are undefeated.

I rather have Lucks recievers that feature Reggie Wayne, TY Hilton, Dwayne Allen, Coby Fleener then RG3's Garcon,Moss,Hankerson,Paul.

Defenses probably will figure out how to contain him better, I don't think someone will be able to stop him. But we're talking about this year not next....

To me, RG3 this season wasmore like Rodgers, and Luck was more like Brees. If that makes any sense.

Also.... According to ESPN's Dollars blog, Griffin has "earned more than any other rookie in NFL history before throwing his first regular-season pass," largely as a result of endorsements

& (lol riding him hard)

RG3 is only the 2nd rookie ever (53rd total) to throw a perfect game, (first was Bledsoe)

It was against Philly this year. He went 14/15 (reciever dropped 1) 4 TD's, 200 yards, 158.3 rating. 84 yards rushing

In my opinion, RG3 is overrated. His stats are incredible, but when you actually the games you can see that he always hands the ball off to Alfred Morris and then a play later tosses quick screens 5 yard slants. The only time I've ever seen him throw the ball down field is when is receiver is dead open and no defender is within 10 yards.

Luck may have Reggie Wayne, but he's done more with less. The success of his team is totally on his shoulders, whereas with RG3 he just relies on that number 1 rushing attack.

Wilson looks pretty good, but he obviously benefits from a good o-line, Marshawn Lynch, and that stud defense.

Luck deserves ROY even though RG3 will probably win it.
