Rumor: Cary Williams to be traded to the Colts?

I've certainly not been impressed by the pass-rush so far this pre-season. Our OLBs are just not getting it done so far. Upshaw has not looked good. He is overweight and sluggish. He doesnt look explosive. Kruger has looked better, but if he is our best pass-rusher that is not a good thing. I'd be looking for anyone that can add a spark at this point.
Plus ravens are always looking for pass rushers, even last year when suggs was healthy they looked at Osi Umenorai. Kruger and Upshaw are more Jarret Johnson type linebackers, pash rush is our only weakness going into this season, and its maybe the most important thing to a defense

oh ok your saying that trade would never happen / too good of a deal for the ravens?

thought you were saying that would be a great trade for the colts when you said the falcons would love to trade with me
Yea.. That trade would never happen..

The falcons thing was something u wouldn't have caught lol..

We did a fantasy dynasty league over the summer where we each run a franchise and make all of their offseason moves. I had the falcons

If we have problems this year it will be the pass rush At first I thought it would be the o-line too
But
Joe is getting the ball out much quicker this year so I'm ok with the current setup there .

We need to make a trade for a pass rusher bad .

Why is everyone talking about getting a pass rusher out of the deal? Is everyone counting out Kruger and Upshaw already? Sorry but I have confidence that Kruger and Upshaw will do fine for us until Suggs is healthy to come back. I say if they want to give us a 2nd for Cary Williams, fine, I'll take the high second round pick from the Colts.
I'd take a veteran pass rusher for Williams as well as any 2nd round pick. He may have priced himself out of Baltimore by refusing to sign his offer. Let's get something in return. One thing to consider is that Luck might be better than you think and the Colts will improve to a decent team this year.

He got burnt pretty bad for a big gain early in the game last night
Exactly. I'm not even sure if he made the tackle on the guy.

If we traded Oher would we have enough salary cap space for Freeney? something to look into, with Osemele and Reid we have a lot of good tackles, and Oher's value might be higher than it should be (lots of false starts)... we are definitly worried about pass rush i could see Williams AND Oher traded for Freeney and a first or second rounder.... or maybe Pagano was a driving force behind drafting Jimmy Smith and wants him... a colts first round pick would be hard to turn down since its probably gonna be top ten...
If we trade Michael Oher I will give you the internet.

We will not be trading Oher. That's just not smart at all. We will not be trading for Freeney. He's a 30 something year old, 4-3 only, speed rusher who can't stop the run. He wouldn't fit the scheme or the division. There's no room for him.

Ha, figures. Pollard is an animal. I can't believe I ever questioned him last year. Glad he proved me wrong!

How many times do players actually get traded for a first round pick? First round picks don't get traded for anything less than elite players. Cary is not one of these elite players.
PREACH. Nobody took a chance on trading for Wallace this year. If nobody is going to spend a 1st on Wallace then there isn't a GM in the league who would spend a 1st on Cary Williams.

How is that not a feasible trade? Osemelle is looking awesome and we desperately need someone like freeney to fill in for Suggs (we are always willing to give up alot for premium pass rushers even last year with a healthy suggs we went after Osi)... If we get Freeney and the colts first rounder for Oher/Williams (colts need CB and OL help) we get the better bargain, colts first round pick next year is going to get one hell of a good player
There is no proof that we went after Osi. That was pure speculation.

Honestly, I can't even remember the last time a team traded a first round pick for a player in season.

Oh, right. I forgot about the dumbest trade of the decade. Thanks for reminding me.

Okay, let me rephrase it.

Sensible, well run teams don't trade first round picks for players that are anything less than elite.

Yeah, I felt the same way about Pollard. Once he got used to the defense he was an absolute beast. One of the better SS in the game.

I love the fact that a billionaire majority-owner of an NFL team tweets like a 12 year-old girl. And I'm constantly thankful its not for my team. The league needs a Jim Irsay, he provides me with never-ending amusement.

You know, I wonder if incarcerated Bob took over Irsay's twitter, because that tweet sounds like something Bob would tweet, not an NFL Owner.
