Espn Does It To Us Again

69 posts in this topic

Maaaaaaaaaan. I been feelin this way for the longest time. Nowadays, i watch PTI,Around The Horn & Sportcenter just to see if they'll show us a little love. It never happens. Week after week,it never fails man. We don't have the most exciting offense, but do have the most devastating, hard-hitting, game changing, highlight deserving defense. Check this out, the Colts and Cowboys have been playing horrible football. Even after their losses, they still get highlights just for losing. I'm really sick of it! im gonna E-mail ESPN to voice my disgust for their bias analysts. They treat us as if we're playin for some other football league across seas somewhere.

ESPN has been a joke for some time now. It's not just the Ravens issues discussed here. The same exact argument could be stated for many teams out there in all sports. The sportsd media is no different than the regular news media. They are all biased and care not for what we want, but what they think will get them ratings.

Question is, what are you going to do about it? I personally refuse to watch the network. My personal boycott means nothing to their bottom line, but if all the disgruntled Ravens fans and any other ignored team's fans do it...then they will have to take note.

Why does anyone bother with ESPN? Go to www.nfl.com. They aren't as biased and they have plenty of Ravens video from each weeks game highlighting the plays and news conferences.

Forget ESPN! They have to cater to whats popular on the national level. The NFL Channel and NFL.com have excellent articles and tons of great video on the Ravens.

So if the Ravens were dominant for seven years, and had an off season one time, you wouldn't mind if we shared time with the Houston Texans who recently developed a dominating O-line?

Obviously people want to Kornheiser/Wilbon talk about the Cowboys, get over it.

This statement really bothers me. I dont want to hear people talk about the Cowboys. They guy you responded doesnt want to hear them talk about the Cowboys. I am sure there are a fair number of people in every fanbase expect Dallas that do not want to hear about the Cowboys. The Cowboys are what they think people want to talk about, not actually what people want.

I disagree, they have one of if not the biggest fan bases in the league. Lets be real, theyre going to focus on the biggest fan base because that pleases the most people at once. I understand everyones mad their team isnt covered, because I do too. But the thing is the Ravens have one of the smallest fan bases in the league, so were not going to get much love. Our fans are dedicated and great, but there isnt enough of them to make a national network notice. I understand where espn is coming from, but it is frustrating for sure.

So, your telling me exclusively covering the Cowboys and pleasing their fanbase would earn ESPN more money, then covering all the teams and trying to please every fan base? I disagree. The Dallas Cowboys fanbase is not bigger then the NFL's fanbase. The Cowboy's fanbase only makes up a small percentage of that fanbase, it may be larger then teams like the Ravens but still small in the grand scheme of things. When you do that you not alienate the fanbases of the 31 other NFL teams but you also alienate the fans who are not fans of one team but just enjoy watching the sport. ESPN is not a real sports news network. They are the MTV of the sports world. MTV is supposed to be music television but it spends less then 20% of its airtime covering music. ESPN is the sameway they are supposed to be a sports news station but they dont spend a lot of their time talking about whats actually happening on the field.
