Flacco's Deep Balls

25 posts in this topic

Joe seems to be doing a much better job throwing the deep ball. There has been plenty of times this season that Joe has been late when attempting the deep pass, and that would lead to breakups or INTs. There was one time today i think he was late going to Clayton deep, but for the most part he did a great job throwing the ball deep today. The Clayton TD was pretty but i think the deep pass he threw to Figurs was a much better ball. This kid just seems to get better and better each week. His TD/INT ratio is now 7/7(5 passing 2 rushing). I think finally we have a QB to be proud of and to call our own.

THANK YOU, some one finally giving Flacco some props! I think Flacco has always had the deep ball I just think that the Ravens didnt trust him to go deep. Clayton surprised me today he has not really shown

up much to play until this game. I am feeling confident about next week against the Texans but the real test for Flacco will be in the Meadowlands against the G-MEN and there great defense. I think we should

definitely throw some more balls deep....maybe try on the first play of the game to catch them by surprise.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JOE!
Still not used to seeing us going deep but I like it and yes Joe's deep ball has improved greatly.
Joe has a great arm. We need to let him throw downfield as he gets more comfortable in the pocket. He is such a great athlete and demonstrates such poise and confidence in the pocket. I think it is time to let him throw the ball and play his game.

Going deep truly is a thing of beauty :D I liked seeing Yamon out there going deep too and drawing coverage towards him while Derrick got open underneath.

Finaly I agree I was say from the beginning of the season the kid has 2 things a brain and I am going to play suggs for a minute I believe what FALCO has is heart incase you didnt read the article of the D calling him that. now as for the Deep ball watch last years combine he launched the ball 78 yrds and it wasnt even a spiral . so now its time to say Bazooka Joe / Joe Cool / Average JOE , you know also called Joe Flacco is here to stay and here to rock opposing Ds our O will continue to serve cups of Joe passing 40+ yrds down field and we will need to start making a Passing or Rushing TD by joe a Free Coffee when the game is at home.... incase you forget the sam addams deal we had back in the day for sacks by him. And one Sunday in November on the Second day of the month God Said let Joe Throw and it was Good!!!!!

I think the fact that he has such a strong arm is actually why he struggled on his deep balls. Not being able to get the ball out there wasn't the problem with Joe, i think it was more timing then anything. I watched a few games of Joe back in Del, and it seemed he relied on his arm strenght too much. He waited for his man to come open deep instead of anticipating that he would be open. Of course that works in college but in the NFL that doesn't work, because DB's are too quick in recovery. Like i said before it just seems that Joe is getting more comfortable with being a NFL QB and more confident in his guys.

Just wait until Flacco has a Chad Johnson or Anquan Boldin to throw to. When we get that deep threat, big play wide receiver MAN look OUT.

I swear he makes it look effortless. When he threw the strike to Clayton - it seems like it took no energy from him. I am amazed at this. He still needs to improve accuracy - he is a rookie after all - but when he goes deep - looks like  no effort at all - amazing!

At the combine he threw 78 yards without a wind up. Just flicked the ball with one crow hop and it went 78 yards in the air. I would just start Figurs running as fast as he possibly can and let Joe throw as far as he can. That play could be HUGE.

I love how Flacco is continuing to improve. His timing has gotten much better, his confidence stronger. I think earlier on, his timing on routes and throws was erratic, but recently he has really settled down. The best thing about today? Not one throw made me cringe.

I think it speak more to the effort that Joe puts in doing the week to get better. If reports are correct Joe shows up everyday at 6:30 to watch extra film and do the things he needs to do to get better.

All I can say is that when he steps up in the pocket HE FIRES THAT DAMN THING! I love watching him throw it to the hash marks, he has a cannon.I hope Clayton and company can give him some good targets, if we get them involved it will be HUGE! Clayton had a great game today!

Thats my favorite thing the last few weeks, There hasn't been that OMG WHAT ARE YOU THINKING throw. He is cutting down on his mistakes while increasing his down the field throws, it almost defies logic. He as of right now has the 2nd highest qb rating for a rookie with 100+ attempts. Only second to Big Ben, good company to be with as a rook. Ifwe do get him a "Special" reciever, its gonna be fun to watch thats for sure

Oh yeah, PLEASE give us Anquan Boldin too..... please football Gods

i couldnt believe our receivers today... i was thinking man after all this time these receivers doing it... i think we all overlooked them because lack of qb.... honestly adding another receiver would be nice... but i wanna see how they do the rest of the season first before i commit to getting a FA or number 1 pick...

Looks like Joe just needed to break the ''ICE'' a little and get a feel for the speed of the N.F.L. The good thing is he will only get more confident with his passes and that means alot of TD's in the future :D 'props to the offensive line'
