Purple Punishment

Jon Gruden on MNF

Jeebus, this guy is talking up Brady and the Pats to be almost God like. He was talking up their defense saying how good they were last year and how offenses couldnt do anything against them. Umm werent they one of the worst teams defensively? This game is hard to watch. It was fun to see Nick Foles light up the Pats.

I hate his voice, I hate his mannerisms, I dont care about his opinion or any thing he has to say.

In my opinion currently the worst most obnoxious announcer in the NFL.

Cris Collinsworth is by far the worst, with Matt Millen coming in at 2nd.

I like Gruden as a coach and with his ESPN rookie QB camp but I can see how he can be a little much. To each their own.

This guy, this guy, this guy, I tell you this guy is a REAL football player.

Has Gruden ever seen a QB he does not love?

Just once I want to hear him give some criticism, he seems to think every player is the greatest one yet.

I like him on MNF but realy he could tone it down a bit

To be fair, he does that to basically every QB.
I love when we're on MNF because all I ever hear is the positives about Flacco from Jaws and Gruden.
You can almost guarantee in the game against the Bengals they're going to bring up several times how Flacco did what he had to do in the championship game and this is the year he becomes elite and leads us to the SB.

Collinsworth, Gruden, and Mayock are either annoying or repeat the same phrases over and over again.

The NFLN commentators just stink, in general.

If I hear Mayock call one more guy a "gym rat" I might lose it lol... Collinsworth is by far the worst. I don't mind Gruden...

Gruden is the lesser of the three, IMO.

Mayock just gets so ridiculous and sounds like a broken record. During the Ravens/49ers game, he called about 5 Ravens his 'favorite player'... C'mon, now. It's like he has nothing else to say or he's just a soundboard.

Collinsworth's voice is irritating and he comes off as a whiner, QQing about lots of stuff.

Give me Gus Johnson any day, love that guy

Gus Johnson's the play-by-play guy. People listed above are the color commentators.

Now that I think about it, I'm having trouble remembering the last color commentator that nobody had a problem with. Even Madden had his critics. Phil Simms maybe?

Bring Dennis Miller back!

Should I start a petition thread?

I dunno, man! But I do know that he's been very fair in expressing his opinions. And off the top of my head, I don't remember any Simms-isms that people give others flak for...

... unless it was so dumb that I chose to forget about it.

Honestly, I believe the reason Gruden hasn't come back as a Coach is because he doesn't like any of the QBs on the teams who made offers. Now I bet he'll jump at the chance of becoming the Head Coach next year when the 2013 QB Class is supposed to be a good one.
