Malkavian Raven

Dream Job w/ The Ravens

It has been awhile since I've actually started a thread, so I thought I'd come out of my shell a little bit and pose a question to all of you...

Lets say the Ravens Front Office calls you up tomorrow morning and offers you a job, any job within the organization. Where would you like to end up?

Would you be a player on the field? If so, which position are you playing? Are you starting or backing up or on the practice squad?
Would you be an assistant coach, positions coach, coordinator or the head coach?
Would you work in the front office? If so, which department?
Would you be a columnist on the site? Or a moderator on the forum?
Would you be a talent scout? Cheerleader? Part of the Ravens marching band?
Or would you be a behind-the-scenes person working as the facility maintenance manager, cook, team doctor, towel boy, etc.?
Or something else entirely, perhaps something that currently doesn't exist within the organization?

With my skill set, I'd probably best suited in the front office working in an accounting role or analytics role. But I would prefer to be on the sidelines, coaching up the wide receiver corp. I've meddled in it in the past with some of the junior leagues in the local area, it suits me. I'm sure I have a lot to learn, but I am willing to learn and always looking for ways to improve what others are already doing.

So how about it? What would your dream job be with the Ravens organization?

~ Malkavian Raven
Mods can have fun with this too, even though they already made their choice... (I'm just jelly).

WR hands down!

6'3" and currently about 195 lbs. Weight room for an off-season and with my metabolism, I could easily be 210-220. With sticky hands (yes, I am cocky) and good size, let's make it happen!

Damn, I'm 30, with 2 kids and probably run the 40 in 5 even at this point :(

I've no desire to be a QB with all the credit and blame that goes with it.
With my noodle arm I couldn't do much anyway.

5' 11'' 175lb, I could stand to put on some good weight, quite a bit realy, I need to read that workout thread we have on the boards.
Make me a physical CB, I want to be Chris McAlister!

Covering players and making hard hitting tackles.

Is there anything more beautiful then a CB sweeping in from the outside and sacking the QB?
I want a few goes at this a year too.

Yeah, CB is the position for me

deleted 2nd post by accident

Before I become a starting CB, I'll be on special teams doing this

WR hands down!
As your positions coach, I just ask that you check with the sideline judge to make sure you're not offsides. That is all for week one. And I know what you mean, with the kids and being 30. As much as I workout, my body could run the 40 with a respectable time, I'm sure -- but my brain wouldn't let it most of the time.

IT, very respectable. I somehow managed to become the interoffice IT guy for the engineering department where I work. I can't stand it. So, better you than me. I had co-worker change her password in Lotus Notes Wednesday afternoon, by Thursday morning she forgot it. And because our network is "less than stellar", I had to create a whole new profile for her. So, you have fun with the wireless gizmos and enjoy the games. Be sure to try the local cuisine.
Yeah, CB is the position for me
You sound pretty amped about it. Are you sure you don't just want to go ahead and tryout for the team? (LOL) As a CB, you would be in good company with our secondary. A very crowded position too, as far as the roster goes, so stay on top of your game. ;)

When I was in high school, I worked in the kitchen of a nursing home. The pay wasn't the greatest, but the job in itself was my second favorite job ever (behind working at the music store). So, working in the kitchen, I completely respect that. It's a great way to meet and become friends with everyone, cause as you said -- they've all got to eat some time. But if you're mopping, please be sure to put out the "Wet Floor" signs. ;)

Talent scout, travel around, work by yourself and you could do it for 40 years and maybe work your way up to general manager if you wanted.

As a player I'd want to be a guard, I've always liked getting out and hitting linebackers and safeties.

Cook/Assistant, assistant GM. ;)

Since I am already Steve Bisciotti disguised as a Ravens fan, I'd have to say I want to be Cam Cameron. Just getting to call crazy end-arounds and loops for the WRs makes me salivate! That or whoever cleans the toilets!

(Important note: I'm not Steven Bisciotti)

I couldn't be a scout. Just way too many colleges to be watching, I'd be lucky if I could remember the prospects names after a day or two. Sure, I could write them down, but I probably wouldn't remember why I wrote their names down. That seems to be one of those jobs where you've got to have a mind like a bear trap and nothing ever escapes. As for being a guard, I'm making you responsible for fixing our O-Line this year. :-p

I would most definitely be a reciever, and I'd love it! I am 6'4", 225 pounds, and I play reciever in the local league we do. I am known for my route running, speed to blow by the defense and blow the top off of the D, quickness/hustle, my passion/competitive drive/determination, and my hands are good as well. I'd gladly be the Ravens elite size/speed combo that the team has needed for years. I'd love to have a crack at the clutch moments, because I thrive and enjoy those crucial moments.

I will say this for Cam, good for him calling those Reverses against the Lions defense cause they over pursued on the same play twice. You think you can handle the job of cleaning up Cameron's mess? You and your toilet brush? Want my advice, just take Cam's playbook and flush it down.

If I had to pick a position it would have to be RB or FS. Thats what I used to play back in the rec days.

....If I could just go back in time....

I would take state.

I was a contender!!!

I would have to say ....a Ray Rice/Willis McGahee type. I had Rice's size and Mcgahees run style. Of course I was no where close to the greatest they both have, and the only time I played was in scrimmages vs my team & older age groups.

It was pretty messed up ya see, a week before our first game I ran an oklahoma vs the biggest, nicest player on our team. I was the smallest player by alot. Well right when I got up he piledrived me about 4 feet in the air, his helmet under my shoulder pad and rocked me to the ground lol. I had 3 hairline fractures on my collarbone and sat out the rest of the year.

The worse part was my coach thought it was a stinger and he made me run/jog about a 3/4s of a mile to get my ice. When I got back to the sideline I layed down because I couldn't hold my ice and wear my shoulder pads at the same time. He yelled at me and made my team run 3 laps because I layed down halfway on the sidelines. Everyone was pissed at me lol.

I spent 3 months training, and was probably in the best shape of my life just to get injured for the entire year. Wasted a bunch of money on that... I was ready to play for our first playoff game but the coach wouldn't put me in, then I just quit lol. I didn't mean to type that much, just thought it was a funny story. The coach looked almost identical to Mike Tomlin. I happend like 7 years ago though when I was still in middle school.

I was the Westbrook of safetys though ha.

And I completely understand what you mean about the hairline fractures. I couldn't imagine one on the collarbone, let alone three of them. The weight of your arm always pulling down on it. I had a hairline fracture from my knee to my ankle once. I got my leg crushed in my the car door of a Kia. I was starting it up, made sure it was in neutral and went to hop out -- thing was, first gear felt like neutral. So as soon as I stuck my leg out, the car went straight into the side of the garage and dragged me down the entire length of it. I wound getting blood poisoning from it as well. No, it really hurts when I play basketball for loo long and for whatever reason it itches when it's about to rain.

You only get ONE job! You don't get to run the whole organization, unless of course you truly want to be the General Manager. But looks like you're pretty well open to working anywhere in the organization, aside from the kitchen or mowing the field. By the sounds of things though, you'd rather work alongside Ray Lewis and/or Terrell Suggs. I can't blame you, as inspired as I get by seeing Ray's speeches on camera, I could only imagine listening to one in person.

I'd like to actually run the website so I could get all the bugs fixed. :-)
I wish someone would get the bugs fixed, but I'm sure they're busy and will get to it in due time. That is, assuming, they're not working on the problem already. I've currently got two tickets in. One for deleting friends who are no longer members of the board (like TheWarden86) and another I just put in earlier in the week for my profile feed not working.

At the end of the day, these things aren't THAT important to me, but they are creature comforts that would make my visit a little less aggravating at times. Beside fixing the bugs, what else would you bring to the site? As in new additions? What would you take away?

De Costa's under-study.

I've already enjoyed scouting players for the last couple of seasons from every single game I've recorded off ESPN America (I don't have the express written consent of ESPN or NCAA, so I'm probably breaking some silly copyright laws), being 20 I'd have a couple of decades to sit and learn from De Costa and a few years learning from Ozzie and, as you can see in my signature, I'm already better at drafting than a lot of NFL GMs [sarcasm].

I wanna be a fullback and blow linebackers up. I'd love that.

If not, I'd like to be a scout, or some offensive coach. Probably offensive line coach.

You know, I don't think I've ever tried putting cheese on ramen noodles. Probably because I just like making them hot.
