Who is Excited about our RBs

68 posts in this topic

The fact that Rainey and Pierce were playing with the 1s after Rice's very brief day should tip you guys off to who's getting a roster spot. Yet another fantastic read by the training camp crystal ball. Even before the first preseason game I heard how Rainey was doing well and Allen was not. A month later and here we are witnessing it with our own eyes.

Pierce is the only backup RB we have who wasn't acquired for practically nothing. Of course he gets the #2 spot.

Does anyone have a video of Pierce's hurdle?

Found it if anyone cared, it was sick.

Looks like Anthony Allen will either be on another team unless he gets injured in the next game (if he survives first cuts). I think the team will try to keep Berry as a PS guy again.

I'm a massive fan of pierce and Rainey has surprised. I still stand buy it. I don't think we should have invested so much in rice. Nothing against him, just the position

Gotta disagree. Pierce is a great #2 but Ray is the most complete back in football. We haven't even seen Pierce play a regular season game yet, I like him and Rainey but they ain't no Ray Rice. Ray is also Joe's favorite checkdown, his safety valve. That contract was well earned, he's NEVER missed a game for us. That's insane durability and talent. It's about keeping a core group of guys together and instilling a culture. The team's future is Rice, Flacco, Torrey on offense and Ozzie knows that.

I was with you on the resigning but it's grown on me. Both side win. Rice gets a load of upfront money and were not left with a hefty bill on his decline towards the end. I really like what we have in the backfield now with Rice, Pierce, Rainey and Leach. Though we will pass more I see us getting more production when we do run.

I have to agree after last nights game the Ravens coaching staff gave the people they wanted to look a chance to work with the 1st team. They all looked good and the offense was going on all cylinders. This sunday we shall see who makes the first cut. So this weekend will be a tough one for the people on the bubble. Good luck to all.

Lets talk about our RBs,

Man, i had no idea how good Pierce was, really reminds me of A.P, dude is hard to bring down. For someone as tall as him, he sure is elusive and makes people miss, it looks like he does it with ease too.

Also, i love this kid Rainey, reminds me of Rice when Rice was a Rookie and he was smaller.

I like Rainey because he is a tiny bit taller than Rice and less bulky which is kinda good in way because he is more elusive and imo has more of a burst than Rice, which is saying alot. He also waits for holes to open up, very patient.

We have 3 solid RBs alone with those guys, and lets not forget about Berry who i feel has great potential.
I don't know if were going to be able to keep 4 RBs (Berry) . But hopefully we keep Berry for SP.Teams, he has potential to be a dangerous returner also.

I think A.Allen is the odd man out, which is sad because i was very vocal about him getting reps in regular season games but after watching him Run (which was nonexistent) and more important imo was his horrible pass blocking. He almost got Flacco killed in the ATL game.

Side note - was anyone else kid of in shock to see Webb out there returning kicks, WTH.

i'm excited about bobby rainey, he's been making plays. bernard pierce has looked solid as well. both very nice compliments to rice
