Which is why I can't believe Brown didn't make 53
Apparently the tape on Brown wasn't all that impressive. He got his fumbles because he was such a liability in coverage, letting his man get open to get the ball in the first place. I still would have kept him, but that's apparently the reasoning.

Upshaw has been a major disapointment from what I've seen and read so far. The eye test tells me he needs to dedicate himself more to the program but he's just starting the journey. Here's hoping this summer was a big learning experience for him.

It still burns my behind that Antwan Barnes isn't on this team. I can assume he found his way into the doghouse and was never able to escape.

Kindle is a non entity as far as I'm concerned, a wasted pick. The Ravens front office gambled on a need and blew it. That said they're still great at what they do.

Upshaw needs to lose some weight and is still getting used to the defense as well as having to drop back in to coverage.

LOL but no one is a bigger liability in coverage than Considine.

Haha I agree 100%, but that's the reasoning I heard on the radio earlier. Apparently it was the same situation for Nigel Carr. Both put up good stats, but showed that they needed a lot of work when they were analyzed on film.

On another note, while Serg has shown very little as a pass rusher, he gets in there on punts. He seems to always be just shy of blocking it.

We need to trade for someone... I feel like we are missing that one element from our D being great. I dont think its wise to gamble and take chances on washed up pass rushers. We need a stud. Osi trade anyone?
I would love that but who and what do we give up? Plus he jus signed a new contract as well but I'd love having him here

If it hasn't already been said, Sergio should be thanking his lucky stars and busting his butt next offseason, because if he performs the way he did this offseason -- no way will he make the squad.

Welcome aboard Sergio! You did just enough... or others didn't. Either way, you best be ready to play.

~ Malkavian Raven
Seriously, I'm glad to have him... just hope he can get up to speed and quick.

He was close to blocking two punts against KC last pre-season as well. That's a sign of exceptional explosiveness.

The splash plays haven't been there and he's had some embarrassing moments too, but I'm nowhere near as down on the guy as others appears to be. There's still upside to be tapped into.

They must see something in him to keep him yet another year...
They might have just seen that they didn't have anyone better.

What else are we missing on D besides a consistant pass rush?
OLB's that can set the edge, OLBs that can beat Ts one on one in the pass rush, interior Dline that gets pushed off the LOS too often, backup safeties that could actually contribute. And if Cary doesn't figure himself out soon, consistent CB play outside of Webb.

They played vanilla in the preseason, but damn if they didn't get beat far too often or not make plays. Its not like offenses were game planning either.

I think Adrian Hamilton was brought here for a strong purpose. Kindle's roster spot may not be safe. Upshaw may be IR bound.

I keep reading people suggesting we somehow acquire Osi Umenyiora. He is signed for this year for $6,000,000 - way over our remaining salary cap - will be an UFA next year, is 30 years old and would (likely) cost (at least) a 1st or 2nd round pick.

NOT an option.

Blew it? the guy fell down some stairs, how is Ozzie responsible for that? nobody could have predict that could have happened, he was a steal its just unfortunate what happened

Hi,

I remember during the draft multiple reports that some teams have taken Kindle off their draft board because of red flags. Anytime someone has alcohol related issues in college it's hit or miss whether they get better with a sack of dollars.

It's debatable whether his fall was alcohol induced.

Kindle has had atleast three alcohol related driving incidents although he blamed one on texting. I believe he's a victim of his own demons. The Ravens always talk about character when they draft ,Ozzie and the staff rolled the dice on this guy because of the obvious physical gifts and they came up snake eyes.

That said, I'd love to see him make major contributions to the Ravens defense but from what I've seen I'll say it's unlikely.

Im not gonna lie but i think kindle's accident had to do with alcohol because its just highly unlikely a person falls down the steps when it comes to percentage of times you go up and down, but its college alot of people drink and he being a star and maybe center of attention those kind of things happen....but i never worry about those things until they make it a habit in the pros and he slipped up a couple of times but i think he is good now i mean jimmy got caught under age and he at least hasnt had a report yet....but i moved on from kindle and i rather have a better option at his spot since we use subs alot too

Had Kindle's fall involved or been alcohol-induced, that information would have likely come out soon after the incident and I doubt the team would have held onto him after his DUI after that.

Agreed. The team is committed to its draft picks. But they aren't stupid.

Either way, you step through what you THINK is a bathroom door but instead find a flight of basement stairs ( generally fairly steep ). There is no graceful way to make this discovery.
