Sergio Kindle?

At first, I never really liked this guy due to his off the field issues, but last year I really liked him and would get excited to see him in. This year, I'm not so sure though. I mean he still seems like he's still at the same level as last year. I really hope it's because it's just pre-season, but he just looks slow and like he can't get any pass rush even on the 2nd and 3rd team guys. Just really bums me out that a player with so much talent has fallen because of the accident he had years back.

I agree. Not really sure what is holding him back. One would think all of the rehabilitation he's had to go through and his hearing impairment, but there were reports he has the playbook down and he's playing with an amplifier for his hearing. So yeah, I think he should really be breaking out this season but he just doesn't seem to be getting off to a great start.

My heart goes out to the kid because he is kind of the embodiement of the entire Ravens organization with his 'never say die' attitude, but coaches are really going to start zeroing in on him these next couple games. I hope he can step it up a notch or two and turn out to be that guy we thought we drafted.

~ Malkavian Raven
Good luck, Sergio...

I thought he played better against Atlanta and, to me, he looks better than last year. I do see where you're coming from with him looking slow, but again, to me, it's only sometimes. This could all just be me making him seem better in my mind because I'm really pulling for him, but maybe I'm wrong. Still, I believe he's doing better than last year.

I said this before and it really showed in the game, he needs to develop his lower body strength and put on 10-15lb, the big guns he brought to camp do nothing without the legs to generate power. Stonewalled by third string tackle? get in the lab and get off the preacher curls.

I agree with the impression that he plays slow and that he gets stood up by 3rd stringers. I just don't see how he can make this team...

Its tragic, I feel like the head injury may have not his equilibrium to the point where he can't maintain an elite athlitic level.

Done.
Liability: Something that is a hindrance or puts an individual or group at a disadvantage, or something that someone is responsible for, or something that increases the chance of something occurring (i.e. it is a cause)
I'm done with this guy.

I think that is absolutely part of the reason

I was pulling for Kindle but he's not adding anything for passrush. Right now the LB corporation is:

Ray
Kruger
Upshaw
McClain
Ayenbadejo
McClellan
Ellerbe
Carr or Chavis Williams

He looked weak and not prepared. Maybe he may have PTSD and is afraid of contact on a certain level. Guys sometimes aren't right after head injuries.

I can see him as the primary OLB backup for 3rd and passing downs, he's shown in camp that he can pin his ears back and explode into the backfield but he also shown he can't bullrush a tackle to save his life. We need to play him to his strengths.

I see him making our team still, this season is his last shot. I think he'll be a situational pass rusher for us. Remember he is still prett much a rookie.

I don't think Ellerbe will make it. I think Kindle will make the team and will become a great player. He won't be Suggs but he make an impact. He will get better he needs the reps to get a groove.

I'm actually encouraged - I had serious doubts the guy would ever even get back on the field. He looks bad now, but just being out there and taking contact is a very encouraging thing to me. He's low on the depth chart so I think he'll have plenty of time to work on getting back into shape during the course of the season. Just the fact that he can get on the field makes me want to give him another offseason to see what he can do when fully healthy AND able to get in proper shape.

And thats bad because Kindle is a pass rush specialist and can't do much else

One thing in Kindle's favor is that he's only making $465,000 this year, so he's an inexpensive option. He's a UFA after this year, and I'm guessing that he's getting his last shot to prove he's an NFL caliber pass rusher.

If he doesn't dramatically improve though, he'll be hard pressed to find employment next year.

Right now he is not on my 53 man roster. I need to see way more from him.

Sadly ,i think you are correct.I am pulling for this kid.How many of us when we were his age
did some really stupid things and just got lucky?

I'm pulling for you Sergio!

I am pulling for him but I am not sure he will make this team. I know the Ravens like this young man, but they can not afford to carry him another year if he is not going to contribute. I think to make this team he needs to perform well in the last 2 exhibition games.

I think he played very well against the Falcons he held his ground against the run and forced the ball carrier to go to the inside a lot, I didn't watch the lions game yet, though
As far as rushing the passer is concerned, he looks like he doesn't play with a lot of confidence, he does not trust his explosivness and speed to rush from the outside, because he's always trying to bull rush the blocker in which he really isn't that good at

I think kindle will find a way. He is learning the game from a new perspective. Loss of hearing and the tackles at this level are bigger stronger and faster. He will catch on and become a great player. I think the Ravens coaching staff have faith in him.

Based on his play in the preseason, I highly doubt Kindle makes the team this year. Albert McClellan is much better right now. The only reason Kindle makes it is because of injuries to Suggs and the other kid who also tore his achilles during OTAs. I hate it personally but the guy simply does not get any pressure on pass rush!

Nobody really has . There has only been one sack from the outsidelinebackers in preseason so far and that came from mccellan.

All i know is that this is the first season where he can actually be 100% playing and practicing he hasnt had a true rookie year till now, Also it took Kruger 3 true seasons to make an impact dont give up on the guy yet is how i feel.

I highly doubt the FO will give up on him this season. I think they are willing to give him at least one more after this year. With everything he's been through. This FO has proven they don't give up on players easily.
