Omar Brown

Omar is a lock-in for sure in my mind. When you have only about 2 1/2 games worth of time to make a statement, and you make multiple highlight plays in that time, there's nothing more your coaches can ask for.

The kid has talent... they say if you can do it twice it isn't luck and he did it twice. I haven't been impressed with Considine at all. Omar has great ball instincts and is a play maker, I really think we have found a great player in Omar Brown!

This made me laugh.

I love this kid and if I'm a coach, I'm bending over backwards to find him a spot on that final 53.

He's definitely making a name for himself on the team, he's standing out and I think the Coaches have to have an eye on him. We like playmakers. Even if he's just a "play finisher" its still very impressive to see what he has done in just two games.

Gotta give it to the man, he's making a lot of plays. And with a team full of guys who don't like to make those, he'll be a much needed addition.

dude must be watching videos of reed with all these TOs hes getting

There's a difference though. Reed causes it, Brown just happens to be there at the right time. Don't get me wrong, I'd find a way to get him in the 53, but I'd rather find a way to keep both Streeter and Deonte Thompson first. You can't teach Streeter's size or Thompson's speed.

I've never agreed with the phrase "In the right spot at the right time."

If you recover a fumble, or catch a "lucky" pick, it's because you're playing your assignment, tracking the ball, and hustling. It's not being in the right spot at the right time; it's playing smart football.

I like Brown a lot. I believe he made his case. The only thing that will lose him the job is injury or if he really messes up big. I have loved his play.

If this was last year it would be hard for him to make the roster. We had nice safety depth last year. But with Nakamura and Zibikowski gone our backup safety spots are up for grabs. If nothing else he has outplayed the other backup safeties which should earn him a spot.

He's even getting national attention. I saw an article about "under the radar rookies" and Brown was mentioned.

I suspect that Omar Brown has just been extremely lucky thus far. He had only 4 interceptions his senior season, 3 his junior season, and no fumble recoveries his entire college career. He has been opportunistic when the opportunity has been presented but I would think it's 80% chance.

Is this his first game playing special teams? He got a fumble recovery and return. It was nullified by a penalty, but I'm still convinced this guy is the real deal. He's picked up where he left off in the preseason. I just don't buy that it's always a coincidence. He seems to be a bonafide ball hawk.
