Woman sues Cowboys over burned posterior.

I can feel some sympathy for this woman. Third degree burns are serious, and who has the money for that these days?

But like the majority of people, I do think that this is probably frivolous. It really isn't that hard to not sit on burning objects.

Maybe all companies should do what television companies do and put up disclaimers like, "do not use without consulting a professional" on every single item.

Dude, she bought hot coffee, placed it between her legs, and spilled it on herself. In what universe is this the company's fault?

Wikipedia isn't the most reliable of sources, of course, but what they have to say is interesting.
she had suffered third-degree burns on six percent of her skin and lesser burns over sixteen percent.[sup][13][/sup] She remained in the hospital for eight days while she underwent skin grafting. During this period, Liebeck lost 20 pounds (9 kg, nearly 20% of her body weight), reducing her down to 83 pounds (38 kg).[sup][14][/sup] Two years of medical treatment followed.
I had never realized it was that serious.

One would think. But the sad thing is, she'll probably make some money.

When I was younger I remember this kid that use to cut through our yard to get to the other street. One day he was running through our yard and tripped on one of the stone walking slates and broke his arm. His family sued my family for medical bills. It was pretty unbelievable.

Good fences really do make good neighbors. It's a shame that so many HOA's disallow or limit them.

Hey, if some one hurts themself in my yard and sues me, can I sue my HOA?

I hear so many people complain about big businesses, but they'll pay off any idiot with a lawsuit just to shut them up, and that's pretty sweet for the idiots.

Warren Buffett wrote books about how to make money. He never mentioned you could just scald yourself and make a fortune. Maybe the woman just couldn't sit up. Maybe the woman who couldn't sit up is the greatest mind of our generation.

You should have counter-sued for trespassing.

I got nothing to add smh

Guess we should have sued North Carolina for the burns we got on our feet from walking across the mid-day sun in July when we were kids on the Outer Banks.

Yes they still make Briggs and Stratton law mowers we have one.

I believe Briggs and Stratton just make the engines, correct? I don't think they actually make the lawnmowers?
And yes, you should have sued! :D
