Anyone think our secondary is overrated?

If the jets asked the Ravens to trade Revis for Webb right now, Revis would be in a Ravens uniform. Darrell Revis has done things by himself that nobody has in this league since Deion Sanders. I remember the play the Revis got beat against Wes Welker, one of the few plays he had to depend on his teammate and his teammate which was the safety bit on the play action and didn't cover what he was suppose to, but Revis still chased Wes welker down. The guy is a stud, nobody better.

I dont think we'd bite on that trade. Revis cant play the run like Webb does. Webb also has more tread on his tires and has proven himself in this system. Not to mention the whole salary thing...Webb is far better value

I actually think it's underrated. I feel we have one of the best units in the league, and outside of Ed (and maybe Bernard since he tore Brady's knee) nobody really knows any of their names.

Plus Webb doesn't suddenly come up "gimpy" whenever he gets beat. And he's a great punt returner, has better ball skills, doesn't need the fine print in his contract keeping him from holding out...

I highly doubt that, they know with Webb, they won't get any drama and he is only getting better. They know with Revis, he will be asking for more money before the ink is dry on the one he just signed.

And that is what's so mind boggling. I think its because our secondary doesn't cause all of this drama. That is what the media is all about now, Drama, twitter comments, dwi's etc.

True - you hear about Revis wanting more money, you hear about guys like JJ and Asante Samuel and Nnamdi moving to new teams for more money, etc., but our guys just play hard and the guys we want get contract extensions without any fanfare.

Since the OP hasn't answered my question, I can only come to the logical conclusion that if our secondary performs as a top five unit (lime they did last year), it would be ... silly ... to call them overrated.

its only 1 quarter man. Who cares even if they would have the whole game, it would only be one game. I remember back when I was a Bucs fan we lost our first game, everyone thought the world was going to end. The buccs won the superbowl that same year, and also their only franchise one. My point is it is way too early in the season for anything to be judged too seriously.

I normally agree with you but I severely don't agree with you about this. Ravens or and team in the league would trade their best CB for Revis. Revis may not be better in run support than Webb but its not like he has him beat out by a mile in that department and a CB TACKLING is the last of my worries but COVERING is numero uno!

Like saying you wouldn't trade Antoine Winfield for Deion Sanders,lol.

Anytime you tell the world that you're the best at anything, when you haven't performed at a level to back it up, I'm going to consider you to be overrated. If Webb had called the secondary "top five", or "one of the NFL's best", then he would have a point, because they've performed at a top five level, but calling yourself the best when you don't have the stats to back it yet seems a little cocky.
